Looks like the S10+ is battery king so far in these tests.

Depending on preference and needs of course, but yeah for me both SwiftKey and Gboard work better than the native keyboard on iOS, with the latter being my preference. I constantly switch between 3 or more languages which is way too much of a pain on the native keyboard, also I just can't use any keyboard without swipe typing anymore.

I'm not a fan either. I'm fine with critical but The Verge's current guys keep coming off with this snarky tone that just makes it unbearable to even listen to them speak. Unless they're reviewing Apple stuff. I prefer reviewers who have a positive base attitude to any new tech and highlight differences rather than judge stuff to be good/bad according to what they like/dislike.

Seems we're not alone in not loving this review though lol

Vid link for context:

It's a shame because I am a sucker for high quality, clean reviews and The Verge does them so well, so does Android Police. Although MKBHD still takes the cake for king of crispness.

Having used the Mate 20 Pro, Pixel 3 XL, and XS Max extensively, I am very cautious of these results. That said, the S10+ should be a beast with its huge battery.
For me the iPhone Xs Max was battery king of any phone I have had so far. But I have never had the Mate 20 Pro.
Can't wait to get the S10+ Wednesday.
I have a complete backup of my Note 9 on a 256GB SD Card so I should be able to restore the S10+ to exactly how I want it from the backup.

Yeah same here. MKBHD is still the boss.

This guy makes nice vids too although his slightly over the top british style might be too much for some :D

Here's my battery rankings for phones I've used recently:

Mate 20 Pro
iPhone XR
iPhone XS Max
One Plus 6T
Pixel 3 XL
iPhone XS

I predict the S10 Plus to be slotted in between XR and XS Max.

We'll see...Most reviews have said the S10+ has been battery king so far

Quite a few of the battery tests I have seen seem to show the S10+ beating the Mate 20 Pro in Battery Life, and by quite a margin to.

But then again, GSMArena had a higher Endurance Score for the S10+ but said the Mate 20 Pro has better battery life overall in the S10+ review.

I have seen quite a few as well that have the S10+ ahead in battery life over the Mate 20 Pro...but can't touch it for low light camera. It's always a give and take with phones.....
But don't think anyone can go wrong with Mate 20 Pro or the S10+ to be honest :)

Seriously when is Google going to upgrade its cheap looking Android icons

I am not sure why you think s10+ is cheap quality?
May be the white color not being solid is looking bit cheap but the Black wow.....what can I say. I can assure you s10+ will kill all its rivals including its cousin Note 9.

Indeed. We are at a point where it's all about what REALLY matters to you.

This level of Battery Life is amazing, I've been saying that the Mate 20 Pro is giving me more battery life than I need in a day, so much so that I have put the display at 70% brightness, have GPS, BT, NFC, Google Feed etc... Just going all day.

This means the S10+ can take even more of a hammering

I hope the Note10 will be like this to.

What? I never said the S10+ is cheap quality.

I said I am a a sucker for clean high quality reviews, as in the quality of footage and cleanliness of the scenery.

I have no doubt the S10+ is high quality, I'd be shocked if it was anything else, TBH.

I am still on the fence of what to do in regards to pay to upgrade early my XS Max and go S10+ or just wait it out.

The Applewatch might be the only thing that has held me back from pulling the trigger as of yet.

I did play with the S10+ yesterday and was blown away how light it is for such a large device. My XS Max felt like a brick in comparison. It was....weird? I wasn't a fan of the chrome sides (i wasnt able to see the black version) but that screen blew me away.

That lightness though was a welcome surprise from a device that big!

I have 2 phones now and the s10+ on the way and I hate having more than 1 phone. I can only use one at a time, or I only like to use one at a time so I feel the others are money that is better spent elsewhere.

I'm going to give the S10+ a few weeks then choose one of these 3 and sell the other 2. And fund my other hobbies haha

I think good battery life is always welcome, but even when a phone has good battery life, I still charge i every night.
No phone will ever get me through 48 hours so will always need charging the same evening.

As long as it gets me to 10pm and doesn't need its charger (which I haven't had happen for over a year now with the phones I've used and how much better the batteries in these devices are getting), then I'm happy. :)

Agree with you on this! I will always charge my phones overnight...unless for some unknown reason i can't.
Nice to know it could go 48 hours but it would stress me out too much knowing i didn't charge it!

Agreed.
I throw my phone on the Nomad base station while i sleep and ready to go. I also have CarPlay so my phone is almost constantly charing during my commute.

I am a very heavy user but seems I charge at a high rate due to commute/rest time periods.
