Any place but here or there....
Yeah, it sucks because AT&T is the one blocking that feature from unlocked phones. So far I have only seen the pixel 3 as an unlocked phone having WiFi calling on AT&T. Guess google struck up a deal with them.

It might be possible Samsung may have struck a deal too, but so far none have worked and I would wait until it’s confirmed to have it or not before getting the unlocked model.

Thanks, not surprised that AT&T would pull that. I am sticking with Verizon. It’s interesting none-the-less.

FYI, if you go the unlocked route WiFi calling probably won’t work.

Also, they have a trade in special right now where you can get $550 for trading in the iPhone XS Max, so depending on what you can get for it that might be a better option. You can also see how much it would be to simply pay and upgrade early.

$400 to upgrade early and go on another Next plan. Makes it easier than worrying about selling and all of that.

Maybe a dumb question but i know the device addiction freaks(like me ;)) here will know the answer.

Scenario:
I have an XS Max on ATT Next-due for an upgrade on the new iPhone cycle
My wife has an X that is paid off and ready to upgrade

Can I use her upgrade (she wont be changing phones for a couple years or more), take the sim out of the S10+ with her phone number, take the sim out of my XS Max and put into the S10+ and she continues to use her X with no problem?

Just not sure what to do with my XS Max besides pay off and sell....meh.

Give your XS Max to your wife to keep her occupied for years to come and use her X to trade in on Samsung.com for $550 to directly buy the phone from them. You can even do the upgrade directly through Samsung for your wife's line or buy the phone outright for cheaper. They sell the carrier branded ones as well as the unlocked S10's.

I had an iPhone XS and the wife an iPhone XR so when I made the decision to move back to android I won't be using Apple anymore. Gave wife the XS and the XR became mine to use as I wished so I used it for trade in on the purchase of my new Galaxy device.

How much do you owe on it to pay off? It may be worth it to pay off and then trade in for $550.

$900 so it seems right at the even mark if I am doing my math even remotely correct it seems lol

I thought of that but she absolutely cannot handle the larger variant of the X. Killed that idea instantly.

That does indeed suck. All together with how I did it I'm only out of only $207 on the S10e.Try a test run to let your wife play with the XS max. My wife was the same at first but now prefers a larger device since she has learned how to handle them so she won't get a device below an X like screen in size.

Wow, $200 thats awesome! $400 wont be bad if i just upgrade early but would much prefer her use this phone and just be set all over!

Some do, depends on region apparently.

Ah ok, thank you.

Strange that it's region dependant.

I am tempted to pick up an official leather or silicone one anyway, but don't really know which. I typically don't like cases on my phones but this doesn't seem like the type of phone to use naked as the day God made it.

I’m so happy I had a case with a front cover on it when I dropped my S9+ recently. My Xr is in a Caudabe clear case that seems barely there but is very protective. Unfortunately Caudabe seems almost exclusively focused on iPhones.

I often don’t use a case on my Pixel 3XL. I have three regular cases for it and a wallet case but it tends to run hot when I’m using the camera a lot so I’ve let it run caseless a few times out of the house. I’ve got a glass display protector on it.

I will have a teal Samsung LED Flip cover case for the S10+. I’ll probably get a clear case for it, but if Samsung ever gets around to offering a flamingo pink smart led flip cover case, that’s what I’ll happily settle down with. I’m a bit mystified and put out that they don’t offer the US a teal phone and give us flamingo pink phone instead, but give us only teal accessories. It doesn’t seem well thought out.

Here’s the case I’ve ordered. Clear View Cover.

SwiftKey is neutered on iOS, BUT it still is superior to the native iOS keyboard.
On this forum I have very peculiar problems no matter what keyboard I use.

When I post from an iOS device I often can’t properly select text to do copy or cut functions. The selection goes out of control.

When I post from Samsung keyboard or GBoard on Android I can’t properly select the correct choice in predictive text windows nor will autocorrect selections register. Sigh.

At least the forum no longer randomly changes text sizes on text entered via an Android device, especially when corrections are being made. That used to drive me crazy.

I didn't until i dropped my S8 a few years ago. It's the first time i've dropped a phone in many years but it cracked the screen so decided to get an Alcantara case for my S9+, i will never use a screen protector!!

Only once I dropped my phone on hard concret , it was HTC one. I'd rather take a risk and enjoy the phone than cover the beauty of the phone.
It also feels lot better to hold the phone without a case unless you are playing games which I hardly play.

I know accidents have no bells but I am very cautious, specially getting out of the car.

Ok so I had another run @ the s10 family. This time @ the T-Mobile store.

I'm convinced in an attempt to make the plus feel lighter Samsung has done something to the physical makeup of the Plus.

Both the s10 and s10e felt stellar, whereas the Plus felt cheap. I'd really love for someone in the know to dig into this.

When I wrote my prior thoughts on the devices I didn't bother with the other two and only played with the Plus. Also the Samsung provided screen protector feels cheap and like it won't last. Seems like to be a huge oversight on their part.

My prior thoughts still stand, AOD, SPLIT SCREEN AND PIP all are envious features, along with system wide dark mode. SwiftKey is also superior on Android. Gestures leave something to be desired if you've ever used iOS.

Again overall, I think Samsung knocked it out the park. These are solid devices, the s10 and s10e that is. Wouldn't mind taking one for a spin, but I wouldn't leave Apple for them/it.

Are you sure that it's not lesser quality, but that weight distribution makes it feel lighter?

Reading this makes me excited for the +. I love bigger phones but don't love heavy phones.

I held both in store on the weekend and the Plus felt the same as the normal S10, it's all in your head. They both feel super premium. I will admit the stainless steel on the XS feels better again but its not a deal breaker for me.
