So what is everybody remapping the Bixby button with? For me either WhatsApp or camera

Not sure yet, camera would be redundant imo. You have the double tap the power button. I wanted the Google Assistant, but Samsung didn’t let that happen. I’ll see what the options are later this week when I get my phone.

You can use a command to open Google asisstant or install app from xda. Command is a bit slower but the app open asisstant immediately when you press the Bixby button

I was thinking of exploring a way to make it a mute switch like on iPhones. Otherwise maybe a Settings app shortcut.

Or just for kicks, leave it as bixby and see if it's gotten better. Lol
I wish all phones
had a mute switch like on iPhones

Something would be nice like to be able to make the Bixby button a silence button but when I had my only iPhone, the silence button broke and had to get it fixed. I don't know how many others had that happen but I think a click button opposed to a slide button would be better as I also accidently silenced it a lot while in my pocket. But also liked it cause I could just reach in and silence it real quick if I need to so that would be nice to do w/ the S10

I’m wondering if anyone that has an XS Max decided to go with the S10 instead of the S10+. Or those that chose the 10 over the 10+, what were your reasons behind it? I’m still within the return window on my Pixel 3xl..

Excellent! Thank you all for the feedback.

Now thinking about it I may do the unlocked, 25 months no interest with BB on my card and not even hassle with ATT.

Still would need to sell my XS Max but whatever.

Nervous about the plunge back to Android and the “ewwwwwww you have green texts now???” Lol

Just sold my Xs on "Let Go" for what it's worth. NO FEES!!!

Are you sure that it's not lesser quality, but that weight distribution makes it feel lighter?

Reading this makes me excited for the +. I love bigger phones but don't love heavy phones.

In your case it might be a good thing!? I SWEAR THOUGH that the metal on the Plus does not feel the same as the s10 & s10e... Call me crazy... BUT my attention to detail is up there with the best.

Well I don’t know about the metal being different. But there’s some sort of vapor cooling chamber that is only in the 10+ to keep it cool for gaming. So basically there’s some hollow space inside. Everything is packed in more densely on the S10 and 10e. The latter two have some sort of metal cooking piece probably similar to what last year’s models have.

My aching right pinky will appreciate the lighter weight. My Xr is killing it. I’ve got to put a ring or pop socket on my Xr’s Caudabe case soon before the pain becomes a chronic problem.

Ha, yea the XR is quite the heavy device isn’t it.
I know what you mean about pinkie fatigue. :p

SwiftKey is neutered on iOS, BUT it still is superior to the native iOS keyboard.
Depending on preference and needs of course, but yeah for me both SwiftKey and Gboard work better than the native keyboard on iOS, with the latter being my preference. I constantly switch between 3 or more languages which is way too much of a pain on the native keyboard, also I just can't use any keyboard without swipe typing anymore.

Verge are pretty crap these days, always more critical than anybody else

It’s a joke when they said S8 and S9 owners shouldn’t be in a hurry to upgrade..clearly a big upgrade from S8
I'm not a fan either. I'm fine with critical but The Verge's current guys keep coming off with this snarky tone that just makes it unbearable to even listen to them speak. Unless they're reviewing Apple stuff. I prefer reviewers who have a positive base attitude to any new tech and highlight differences rather than judge stuff to be good/bad according to what they like/dislike.

Seems we're not alone in not loving this review though lol

I have a few phones, one of them being the XS Max and have decided to go with the regular S10, I’ve even ordered the S10e to see how it stacks up in comparison.

I have this love hate relationship with big phones. I no longer use a tablet so when sitting on the couch I am more than happy with my Note 9 or Max, in fact their size is perfect, however, I’m not so keen on their larger size when I’m out and about. They’re just a little cumbersome imo.

I chose the regular 10 over the plus because I believe it’s the better overall phone, the screen isn’t massively smaller, it looks better having only one hole punch in the screen(I don’t take selfies so have no need for the double hole punch). The only thing in the plus I’d miss is the better battery life but that’s a sacrifice I’m willing to make.

I'd like there to be more S10 reviews in the world, all seem to be the S10 Plus. Though I guess reviewers can only review what Samsung want to give them and Samsung is pushing the Plus. Still, as someone who went for the smaller model it's kind of frustrating.

Maybe because it’s still the same phone just bigger and only one camera on the front.

I understand the frustration from a battery life point of view wanting to know how much it lasts

Looks like my Samsung.com pre-order might be moving! I got a fedex label in my email. This is the place my Samsung orders always come from. Plus FedEx shows an invoice # in the shipment details which is the order # from my GS10+ order! I just hope they don't hold it till the 8th or something like that.

Just saw a short video from this math professor who took usage data from his S10 and is getting ~5 hours 5/40 of screen on time with it when using mostly WiFi. He’s also getting ~4 hours 30 when using only LTE.
