Yup, that's why I prefaced my post. His stuff is generally a dumpster fire of ****. I do trust his source significantly more though.

Well it's probably true. It's a bummer if they withheld UFS 3.0 on the S series this year but I wonder if we really are going to notice all that much. As usual I'll wait and see what the Note offers and if it looks good I'll jump on it. If they keep offering good trade in deals I'll start sending in iPhones.

I'm so mad at my iPhone right now. I have an animal crossing game I have been playing for a year. The kids and I are participating in one of their events. I need to buy a leaf ticket for a lousy 99 cents. I just bought a packet last month with no problem but now for some reason I have to authenticate via Face ID as usual, but it also wants the CVV number from my credit card, then it Face ID's me again, then I managed to phone my husband to get the CVV and enter it and it took it and another round of Face ID then it wanted the password for the account. I couldn't remember if it is my account or my husband's. I was so fed up I am waiting for my husband to help me set the game up on my Pixel with Android pay. I appreciate that Apple values security but I don't understand why now all of a sudden I have to go through all of this when my face authentication passed.

Oh Samsung, this would never happen with Apple, people down under that ordered direct from Samsung are getting these emails.
Talk about false advertising.

Thank you for your recent pre-order of your new Samsung Galaxy S10. We have just discovered that the bonus Galaxy Buds had not been attached to your order. We apologise for this inconvenience and will endeavor to ship the bonus Galaxy Buds to your nominated delivery address approximately within the next 2-3 weeks.
So, what's the big deal? They're getting them. Shizzle happens. Apple could make mistakes like this, too, but we don't know because they haven't done promos like this...not that I can remember.

Maybe they will in China. Unless/Until OnePlus or Samsung or someone else starts eating too far into their market share here and they decide to care about the opinions of customers in their own backyard again.

But that may take awhile because I see Apple devotion is alive and well and thriving. That's not a bad thing as long as Apple customers feel we are getting our money's worth. But let's not pretend Apple can't make mistakes or keep people waiting for something.

Congrats to everyone getting their phones and doing their unboxings! I see I missed a page of posts so congratulations and thumbs up to the unboxing posts I missed.

If I understand correctly though, speed is only one component, the other being power efficiency. I’ll always welcome better use of power.

My Note 9 with 4,000mah is already a battery champ, can’t wait to see how that will translate with a more efficient 7nm chip and USF 3.0 chipset. And if they go even larger with the battery, wow.

Only if the s10E had lcd or no pwm..would be perfect for me
Are you sure you can't use this type of OLED? I've done some testing and so far the only OLED I can not safely use is the kind on an iPhone.

I get some eye strain on my Pixel 2. My Pixel 3XL has the most eye and migraine friendly display I have ever used. It is even more comfortable to use than the one on my iPhone Xr and is probably a hair better than even the one on my iPhone 8 Plus.

My reaction to the iPhone OLED is so severe that my symptoms resemble those of my friend's MS when it was in early stages. I experienced difficulty with speech, loss of coordination in my arms and legs. Migraine. It was not something to take lightly and I reported it to Apple when they sent me a survey asking for feedback about the phone. I am waiting to see if they make any changes to this year's phone displays to alleviate that. If not, I part ways from Apple because I am not going to stand by and see all their cutting edge features go onto phones that disable me.

I don't think it's simple pwm that is the problem. They have some patented power management anti burn in thing they've implemented and I think that is the problem.

Agreed and most of us have to get the buds after we get the phone which could take more than 3 weeks anyway

Remember when folks actually paid money for AirPods and they didn't ship for six weeks at a minimum? Yeah, me too.

i understand that is what I read as well. But I still don't think you will notice speed difference or enough of a power savings to be honest.

In the UK, the buds aren't available straight away anyway. That's always been the sell.
You claim them within 30 days of receiving the phone and they're shipped out to you, probably in an additional 30 days.

The UK always does stuff like that - again, rubbish compared to US!

At least with the S10's the USD to GBP RRP isn't the same, unlike with Apple.

I am waiting for more real world reviews from our "experts" here before deciding on upgrading my XS Max. I didnt want to pre-order and fine with waiting a couple weeks as there may be deals if I buy it unlocked.

Also, when is the Pixel 4 being announced? Any assumptions or rumors yet as I always enjoy the stock Android experience when I have gone back and forth but I have heard One UI is actually great.

Try toggling between Vivid and Natural, natural seems to give a slight grey cast it may also vary with adjusting white balance

You can see if it's true black by putting brightness to max only the white changes intensity :)
Vivid makes it darker but if I turn the brightness up it's still a dark grey. The only Samsung app that has stayed completly black when in night mode is the calculator.

Early reviews on other forums on the fingerprint sensor aren't great, will find out myself tonight. Could be user error, could be an issue. Guess we will see.

Yes and you knew it when ordered. Telcos are sending them with the phone, only samsung isn't ;)

Maybe they just realised they didn't put the ufs 3.0 in like the buds :)

When I first tried mine I thought the same but as soon as I took off the factory screen protector it improved dramatically. It's as fast if not faster then my s9's capacitive fps.

The biggest issue for me is the loss of the notification led, its making me want to keep my S9 honestly. You don't realise just how much you depend on it till it's gone.

I can see this being an issue for some people. And it’s interesting that Samsung says on their site that their screen protector works perfectly with the sensor and that they recommend carriers have it in store. . . Obviously they want to sell them, but still.
