I am confused. This phone has great specs but it's being called a mid-range phone. Why? It's right there with Google's 2020 flagship device and even beats it in terms or processor and refresh rate. What makes this mid-range?
But Pixel is the standard for Android. It is the embodiment of everything that Google wants Android to be therefore it should be considered a flagship. It is for Google, maybe not for Samsung or LG, etc.Because Googles 2020 phone (Pixel 5) isnt a flagship phone either. Compare the FE with the S20 or Note line and you'll see why its a midrange device. Compared with the S20 the FE has lower resolution screen, lower PPI, worse camera, worse build (glass/metal vs plastic), less RAM.
The FE is a very good phone and exceptional for the price. But compared to other flagship android phones (really only Samsung makes these anymore) it's clearly inferior.
Could argue only thing that's flagship is the cameraBut Pixel is the standard for Android. It is the embodiment of everything that Google wants Android to be therefore it should be considered a flagship. It is for Google, maybe not for Samsung or LG, etc.

It could be from the price point perspective. So Anything $1k and above are considered flagship territories, while anything around $500-800 are considered mid-range territories.I am confused. I'd say no. It's from the specs and features. Flagships get the latest or best available chips with all the features and midrange get below that and only some of the features like no wireless charging ,waterproof and get plastic backs for builds..It could be from the price point perspective. Regardless, the S20 FE, especially the snapdragon flavor, offers flagship grade hardware (it does have flagship SD865, IP68, 120Hz refresh rate, etc, all things a flagship phone would have) at incredible price point.
plastic is really good.. it feels great in hand plus we throwing a case on it...It sounds like a good phone. Ha ing a plastic back doesn't bother me at all, I'd prefer not to have a glass back,....though I've never broke one since I use cases. The only thing I don't like about it is it is 6.5". However, it is a bit smaller than the A71 which is a good thing.
definitely something is off.. are you able to check mobile setting if you can toggle off 5G... I don't have my sim in yet to test...I just switched back to android after several years and got the S20 FE. I have a few questions. First, my battery life is horrible. Could it be the 5G signal? I’m getting right around 2-3 hours of SOT. Literally if I pick my phone up in the morning and check my notifications over night the battery drops to 97% after using it for literally 5 min. My iPhone would stay on 100% for 30-40 min after starting my day.
Second, If I charge the phone horizontally, the wireless charging goes on and off. It’s not the charger because my wife’s phone charges no problem no matter which way I place it. I started the phone as new. Do I need to do a factory reset? Could something have gone wrong during the set up?
I just had a thought, it can’t be the 5G because I was using a Oneplus 8 with no battery issuesplastic is really good.. it feels great in hand plus we throwing a case on it... definitely something is off.. are you able to check mobile setting if you can toggle off 5G... device care shows nothing draining?I just had a thought, it can’t be the 5G because I was using a Oneplus 8 with no battery issues

It’s been almost a week. However I think I found the problem. I had an app called Andropods. It gives apple like functionality to AirPods when paired to android. That app appears to have been draining the battery. I deleted it and it’s been pretty normal since. I google searched and cant find anyone else with that problem using Andropod, must just be me.if you just got it, sometimes battery needs a day or two to chill out.
The 20 FE has the same SD865, and even flagship features like 120Hz and IP68. I still consider it as a flagship.I'd say no. It's from the specs and features. My GS9 was $750 and a flagship then while they had bigger versions of it.
The GS20 FE has decent specs and some good features but doesn't have the top screen that the GS20 has and has a plastic back.....among other differences.
Does anyone know how to make the lock screen controls look more like a Pixel? When I click the power button, you get this view and I really want the view to be the screen where you can skip forward during podcasts.
If you click on it and you have no other notifications, it just makes it bigger and you don't have the skip forward or backwards options. If you have more than one notifications and click power, notifications, then it looks like a Pixel and you have the options.
Any ideas?
Such a cute dog. And I too would love to know this for my Fold 2 lock screen.
