More fool them for throwing money away and more than likely being tied to an overpriced contract.
Depends if you are heavy user or not. If you are medium or heavy user you are way better off signing a contract because you are making a use of your monthly $$$$$ by getting a new phone every 12/24 months.

If you are a light user its better to buy the phone outright then stay flexible with your usage.
I went through 4 last year. Only to circle around to Samsung again.
I am just going to get the s20 ultra, and probably the note 20 ultra this year.
Honestly my favorite phone last year was my S10+. I found it much more ergonomic then my Note 10+, so maybe this might be it for the year.
I think the most was 16 phones in one year! That was a few years ago
My record for the most phones in a year was in 2014.
I had the iPhone 5S, note 3, LG G3, S5 and the iPhone 6 Plus.
Last year I had the Xs max, note 10+, used an Xr for a few days then back to the Xs max and then got the 11 pro max.
But even in moderate year I usually have 2 iPhones and a Samsung flagship.

I’m definitely going to hold out for the note later in the year. Last few years I’ve bought the s line but always end up getting rid for the note. I’m gonna see what trade in deal Samsung has at launch, if it’s not too great I’ll get the next note when the usual reduction offers start later on

Gone are the days when flagship phones use to cost $299 but of course had no camera, maps, modem..etc etc. Screen was tiny black & white .
I'm keen, iOS 13 is leaving a bad taste in my mouth, also wanting a change again (last Android was from Jan-May '18). Got staff discount from mates I can use too!

But I’ll probably try out either the S20 ultra or note 11. However I won’t get rid of my iPhone this time!
Camera aside (I just love the way Pixels do it), I've far more enjoyed the S10+ & Note 10+ over the last 12 months than any other phone. So I imagine I'll get another Samsung next.
Agree. While the Pro Max is great, I still think I like the S10 plus more than any phone I owned in 2019.
I don't know how I'm feeling about the 100MP area being shaded 🤔

Looking like there might be free buds offered with pre order again, at least with the ultra. According to Evan Blass via Twitter
Its not free, price already adjusted and inflated to offset the cost. But yeah if you pay AU$2000+ for the ultra there got to be some bonus. Last year i got a nice WL headphone with my Note10+ and really enjoying it.
Looks like Samsung might me giving the new galaxy buds away as a pre order galaxy gift in some places.
The Note 10 didn't have pre order incentives but all previous Samsung flagships did. I got the free buds even though I returned my S10+.
They're going to want to tempt potential Ultra buyers with what will surely be a very expensive device.

I still don’t see it costing more than the 11 pro max. However any freebies are always welcome to me.
Maybe not but I can see the 256gb (if that's the base model) costing £1,200 if there's no separate 4G/5G version.
