Haven't heard about this issue? Is it bad?

I'll put it like this ...... It's the main reason why so many complain about intel modems and hope Apple goes Qualcomm (even in MR forum). Signal issues have been an issue with iPhones for awhile. But the Pro Max is the worst I've experienced. I also have an 8+ which has slight issues, but not even close to being as bad as the Pro Max.

For those of you that switch between Android and Apple platforms, what password manager do you use to keep everything simple and up to date on both devices. Thanks

1Password—works across all platforms. When I originally started using it you had to pay for each platform but they’ve now adopted a subscription model that gives you access everywhere. I honestly have no idea what it costs because my employer pays for mine.

OK...looked it up, apparently my family plan costs $4.99/mo and an individual plan costs $2.99/mo. Both offer 30 day free trials. It is easily one of my most used applications and wouldn’t hesitate to pay it if required.

FWIW, I dabbled with LastPass for a bit last year to see if I was missing out on anything and to my eye, seems to function nearly identically to 1Password but since my vault is well established (and it’s paid for), I stuck with 1Password.

My black galaxy buds+ just got delivered. I'm going to try it on my S10+. I'm hoping the ambient sound feature has improved as good as they say.

Have you tried the Single Take feature? If so, do you like it?
[automerge]1583365409[/automerge]

I use Enpass. It's pretty good. I have it loaded on iOS, Android, Windows 10, and MacOS. Syncs flawless. And you don't have to pay again for every platform.

Haven't had the chance to try single take out yet. It's on my list for tomorrow.

Otherwise, I don't see myself returning this phone unless the camera really struggles or some new issues crop up. It's an amazing piece of hardware and I'm a big fan of the current version of One UI.

You most likely single handedly stopped me from sending the Ultra back without even opening it. Lol.

I tried Single Take on my husband’s Ultra today. It was in terrible light and I was chasing my cat so the pictures weren’t the best quality but I think once I get some practice with it (it will take a bit of practice which the prompts guide you through) and it will be one of those “how did I get along without this?” features that may end up on iPhones, too.

Lol well I would at least give it a chance. I'm not raving about the camera because I admittedly haven't put it through its paces. But the couple of shots I took looked good.

I will say camera isn't a top 3 priority to me. So I might give it more leeway than others.

Ugh, selfies are ugly. Unfortunately the camera is accurate. It's my face that needs an update. I used to be photogenic. WTH happened? It does work and looks normal. No constable Odo face.

My Note 10+ makes me almost pretty. Lies, all lies unfortunately, and copious amounts of smoothing on that one. You men who are always harping on accuracy will love this damned S20 phone. 🤬 I'm going to bed. I NEED my beauty sleep. Yegods! Do I ever.

Visual voice-mail seems to work on this unlocked AT&T s20. Tomorrow I call my dad and see if it passes the "Dad test" as a phone on what apparently is full 4G AT&T on this phone. I get 2-3 bars on my iPhone 11 Pro. No 5G to test around here.

Just curious, does anyone still use screen protectors and if so, is there a "best brand"?

I haven't used screen protectors for a while on phones other than iPhones because they always seem prone to scratching easily. But each update to gorilla glass seems to get better with shatters but also easier to stretch so I'm considering a protector for the Ultra. But I know a lot of protectors aren't compatible with the ultrasonic fingerprint reader.

I can't stand them, didn't even like using a case till i dropped my S8+ due to my headphone cable getting snagged. I just rock a thin case and leave the screen unprotected, i like the feeling of the pure glass under my fingers.

Just setup the Galaxy Buds+ (black). Connected it to my S10+. I'm pleasantly surprised. I'm really liking these. It's a great improvement from the original Buds on every level. They did a damn good job with ambient sound.
Are they more comfortable?, the originals hurt my ears so went back to my Beats X which are super comfy. The originals also sounded a little thin without using the Dynamic EQ which i found muddied up the mids.

Received my s20 and it has a small gouge by speaker grill. Would easily be covered by a case. I called Samsung and they instructed me that I would have to return phone, return galaxy buds, and cancel my iPhone 11 pro trade in. I would then have to go through order process again. Argh.

Yes, they are very comfortable. They feel much lighter and less intrusive to my ear. Even with ambient sound disabled, you don't have that clogged ear plug sensation.

The weird part is, I remember a youtube reviewer saying the buds are technically heavier. It sure doesn't feel like it.

The only downside I can think of is the case looks cheap and ugly, it's also a fingerprint magnet. But the case is actually more solid and less likely to accidentally open than the original case.

I tried all the equalizer settings. Normal sounds the best. Dynamic sounds more like a amp boost. Don't really like Bass Boost, it doesn't boost the bass but just reduces the treble. Treble boost does the same with bass. Clear sound decent. Soft seems to level everything.

The mids are pretty good on normal. I'm not the best judge of audio though.

BTW ..... These sound great on my Windows desktop. And Windows auto detects when you open the case, and close it with the buds inside. 11 hrs without charging will make it useful for binge watching. Unfortunately, it doesn't connect to the phone and PC at the same time. You have to unpair from one.

So some way too early day 1 camera impressions...

- autofocus is bad. This should be priority 1. It hunts bad for close shots.

- shutter lag is there. Not terrible but definitely slower than Pixel and Pro Max.

- zoom in legitimately great from 1x to 10x.

Early prediction is that a lot of this will get fixed with updates but it will still lag behind Pixel and iPhone overall. I think this camera will be one capable of some of the best shots possible from a phone but it will struggle to be as consistently great as a point and shoot camera as the Pixel and iPhone.

Bonus is that everything else about the device so far is excellent.

Such a shame about that camera. One of my close friends is looking for an upgrade from his Galaxy Note8 and the S20 Ultra made so much sense for him as he loves the large display on his Note8 and taking pics of his newly born baby girl and almost 2 year old baby boy who cannot stop moving about. But it seems the Ultra will actually be incredibly bad for this.

Think I’ll suggest he just gets the S20+ instead if not an iPhone 11 Pro, as he does want an Apple Watch. Sucks that we do not get Google Pixels down here, I do however see Google Pixel as more of an ongoing Beta development platform for Google and developers that just happens to have a good camera, the issues faced on Google Pixel seem endless.

On the other hand I think Samsung have built quite a solid lineup here with the S20 series, I would even encourage people to get the regular S20, as I have with an ex-colleague who is looking for something to replace her aging Xperia. The S20 series along with the Galaxy S10 Lite and Note10 Lite are brilliant devices, IMO.

How are the speakers?

I’ve always found it very handy to have good speakers on a phone. It happens quite often that I want to play a song or video with sound to someone or set some background music at a moment when I don’t have a portable Bluetooth speaker available, or just rather wouldn’t bother with the pairing process. Not to mention video calls when it’s not just me on my end.

It’s not a dealbreaker for me but definitely a strong plus. Good speakers are an underrated feature imo.

S20 Camera looks awesome compared to iPhone 11.

I can’t wait to test this camera out myself as from what I’m seeing I prefer it over iPhone everywhere. I’ve never liked the pixel photos. We’ve all got diff needs in a camera I guess. I have no issue lineing up my shots and tapping to focus and taking my photos but I also shoot Fuji xt3 and X100F.
ive only tried the selfie in store on the 40mp and it looked great. Haters gonna hate software updates are gonna come. When a pixel is launched it has every issue you can think of like a broken toy before it starts to work how it’s meant to.

I got mine today, don't go near the phone. Any photo with human in it is terrible, blurred, lack of detail. My old note 8 took much better photos. I returned mine 4 hours later. The technician at Samsung could not believe how bad they were and wrote a report to send to HQ in Korea.

Take a couple of portrait shots with light and low light. (Remember to have a box of tissues with you;)
