Who needs a 108mp sensor in a phone? o_O just to have it I suppose and likely to do a little software workarounds with the extra pixels. Surely they can "fake" the resolution in super zoom and perhaps macro, otherwise it's just plain overkill I think. Still probably is anyway.

Still just watching on the sidelines again like I did with the S10 and note 10. I'm sure Samsung is going to go pretty much all out. Sigh, if only they left their bootloader unlocked 😖

For everyday point n shoot, sure it's overkill and a waste of storage space.

But if you plan on taking a photo that you'll want to edit and/or print, then it makes plenty of sense. You can also zoom in much more on the photo without losing quality.

I highly doubt it's going to be set at 108mp by default.

Still thinking it's overkill even if one intends to edit. If I know I'm going on a serious photoshoot, I'm grabbing my DSLR or a film camera. But I am curious to see what Samsung does with it. 🙂 My pixels will shoot raw and trying to process them in Snapseed kinda chokes the device so I just edit the jpg.

That is my thoughts too. I mean I am outdoors a lot taking scenery shots. Would be nice to close crop a few of those and still have them look decent.

I said overkill, not useless 😉 🙂

I'm sure there is going to be resolution to spare and Samsung is going to use it. I wonder if it's going to a larger (in physical size) sensor with a couple different lenses over its own section of the chip. I'm sure that could be done.

The sensor is going to be quite a bit bigger.

Indeed

Worth noting that he mentions the edges aren’t as curved as previous models. Also, he said the phone is massive and that isn’t even the Ultra model.
yeah...I like big phones....but if the camera specs are the same for the Ultra and regular S20, I think I will order the S20 at 6.7in instead of the Ultra at 6.9in display.
Unless the Ultra overall size is the same as the Note 10 Plus ;)

All models to have 12GB of ram? Wow...

So the Ultra will have the 108mp main lens, 5x optical, upgraded ultra wide and a separate macro making 4 rear cameras in total? Plus the tof sensor.

yeah the ultra does seem to have all the features!

SD 865
Almost flat display at 6.9 inches and 120hz ( might be a little too big?)
4900 mAh battery
12GB ram
256GB storage
108mp camera with 5x optical zoom and TOF with ultra wide angle lens
5G support...whatever that means

The Ultra sounds like an absolute beat but I agree with the worry that almost 7 inches is massive for a phone. I cant imagine anything bigger than the Note 10 plus being usable with one hand.

If I were to get an S20 phone, it would be this. I'm bracing myself for a high price tag, can't see it being anything other than more expesnive than any previous Samsung.

As a tech fan how can you not like seeing these specs? I won’t be tempted but hardware on this is Truely great

The battery size stands out and worries me at the same time

I’m torn between getting the S20 Ultra and the iPhone 12 Pro Max

Just concerned that the iPhone will again have only 2x zoom this year and that’s getting really old now considering it’s been 2x since the iPhone 7 Plus, needs updating this year but don’t think they will put any higher than 2x until the iPhone in 2021.

I’m a bigger is better person so I’ll always go for the biggest phone available.

Apparently the ultra might have a 16GB ram version.
