So far I do feel the s21 ultra is better. Not in every situation but feel it’s more consistent overall and has more modes and options. 10x optical is such a great feature.

That said pixel camera should only improve with updates though. I would say the ultra has better night mode. For point and shoot though pixel still nails it in most situations

I would say I wouldn’t upgrade to the pixel just for the camera as there isn’t much of a difference in most situations
Yeah I've just been taking some pics here in the dark of pumpkins for Halloween with the Ultra and they have come out great.

The good thing for me is that with having the Ultra as my Android fix I'm not in a rush to get the Pixel so if they do improve the camera and other aspects of the phone later then I might bite.

I'm curious... what in next years iPhone will peak your interest to return?

I will keep my S21 as my first ever Android souvenir.

However even without following the rumours for iPhone 14, I am of the disposition that next year is the year that will bring a significant shift in design since iPhone X.

And I will be willing again to give them my money.

Ordered a regular S21 (yea fourth time back to this line up after the earlier S21/S21+ and S21 Ultra) as a second handset as an iPhone 13 Pro on its own was giving me the Android itch. Hehe.

By the way it was an amazing deal direct from Samsung UK last weekend at £453 with no trade in etc. Heavy discounts but worth it as a secondary toy.

Last week it was "Samsung Week" on the Samsung UK website. Various offers.

One of my friends even snagged a 128GB S21 Ultra for £708 (before trade ins). They were doing all sorts of offers that could be stacked (there were free speakers and SmartTags with certain orders etc). It all ended midnight last night.

What about camera of the ultra compared to the Pixel? I've got an S21 Ultra too (dual wield with iPhone as my main phone). The temptation to go with Pixel is due to the photos being great. Is the ultra as good, better or worse than the Pixel when it comes to photos?
Rolled around with the pixel 6 this weekend, as my GF didn't have the time to switch over. Side by side with my s21 ultra, from a camera perspective I think I lean towards preferring the s21 U, in most cases.

Mostly comes down to the processing. The pixel makes things so HDR that they feel unnatural. It is funny to say that the Samsung takes the more subdued pictures, when they used to be the kings of oversaturated colors. I also seemingly need to adjust the white balance on the pixel shots.

It is hard to articulate, but the pixel photos all look like they were edited to give a dystopian sci Fi feeling.

Lots of potential with the hardware, but gcam needs some tuning IMO.

The one thing the pixel nailed was Samsung's Achilles heel, which is objects in motion. We went to a Halloween thing at a skate park, and it was tack sharp on almost every photo I took, of people on ramps and such.

Unfortunately I forgot to send myself the photos when I erased the phone, and put her info back on.

After using both for for several days my experience is stills I think it depends on the situation. Both great but the ultra has more options without question

Night mode for me is the best on the ultra. Where the pixel is the best for Me is photos of my son and family. Photos of pets the pixel is king imo

Both amazing cameras so really depends on the shot you are taking.

After double or triple zooming both pics lost quality. Were you far from the subject or had phone on lower settings ?

Let me show you examples from my Note10+ shots i took year before. Even after triple zooming the the pics look fantastic.

you have been an early bird
how is it?
how can i also access it?
I’m just mimicking you.. sharing the news as you do. I don’t have a S21 phone nor a Fold 3, so I haven’t experienced it. But I have been following the news on OneUI 4.0 and getting an idea of what features to expect. As far as I know I won’t experience OneUI 4.0 until January or February for my Fold 2.

Yup. Under a month after official release of Android 12… Not bad. Are you still holding onto the Pixel 6 as well? If so.. how are you balancing the two?

I’ve actually returned it as I couldn’t handle 3 phones just wasn’t working. It’s a great phone but for me I just prefer Samsung for my android of choice as it’s simply a better device. I’ve got nova on my s21 ultra and customising the crap out of it lol s21 ultra will be going back before my 31 day return period though seeing as the s22 ultra will be put in feb. Will lose too much by keeping it. May just go on the upgrade programme again

So iPhone 13 pro max as my main sim and s22 ultra will be my 2nd phone for the next year.

Long term plan will be iPhone fold when it comes on a few years and ultra/note device as my android phone.
