Oh no over in Android Central I saw an article that states Samsung has excluded SD card support from the two models under the Ultra, which fortunately will retain it. SD card support is one thing I really like about my Samsung phones. It lets me easily move from older to new phone with some artwork I made in my original Note 7 also retained. Sorry I’m babbling. Kids are extra loud today after the first day back to school. Lol. I can’t hear myself think.

They really are pushing people each year to get the ultra

S21 are also going back to 1080p so no WQHD only on the ultra model

Imo it's probably Samsung getting the data from the S20 users, that most people would rather have fast refresh rate than WQHD if they have to choose. So not only it saves money, it saves on power consumption and most users would not see any difference, I think.

Flat is better imo. The curved screen was nice to look at, but a nightmare for usability. Going back to flat imo is actually progress.

Of course flat is better. I was just indicating to TheGame 161 that Samsung is not trying to push users to buy the Ultra, but instead they are trying to cut production costs. As we all know curved screen costs Samsung 3 times more than the flat so here we go...

they may be trying to cut costs on making the devices but they are still giving current users less reason to buy the phones but to buy the most expensive option due to better specs.

If samsung price these phones the same or more for the non ultra it's hard to see why people would buy them when they will struggle to sell them anyway.

FE version will still be more appealing.

I also don't get why they are making the S21 Ultra compatible with the S pen, if they are still going to be making a Note phone this year. I'm going to be watching the event on the 14th, but I'm more interested in a new Note with the curved display, S Pen and better batter life.

Well rumours are the note 21 will be an note 20 so won’t be a ultra version...

S21 ultra will basically be the one to get if you want best specs. Exynos 2100 should be big improvement on 990

If Samsung can give me the same experience of the Note 20 Ultra, but with better battery life I would be interested. The one problem I can see is that the S Pen for the S21 Ultra, has no housing, you have to buy the pen separate and a case to store it.

I still don’t understand why they are bringing S Pen support to the S 21 Ultra, if the Note series is going to continue (which is what has been confirmed).

Neither do I or maybe their decisions do not really bother me. Am just sharing the rumors.

Think it's all abit pointless, they say note 21 will be the last ever note but if it's going why bother? just release s21 ultra and fold 3 and be done

I think the Note line is done. Even if they realese one this year, it'll be the last. If they bring Spen support to the S-line and Fold lines, the Note like no longer makes any sense.

And I'm all for it! It helps Samsung provide better support for their devices. Less is better.

The problem is that the Note line is popular and has its fans. It will be the only reason why I jump from my iPhone, I have no interest in the fold devices. It would be a shame for them to just stop the Note altogether.

Have you tried using the Fold? I was in the same boat as you, tbh... when the original Fold was first introduced. I thought it was clunky (still do). I thought it was bulky (still do). And, I thought it was unnecessary, why would someone want a phone that folds?

But after careful consideration. At the end of the day... I wanted a bigger screen, the Fold fits my interest. I think the Note fans are driven by the nostalgia aspect of it, the boxy design and S-Pen slot. Maybe, Samsung fill that need with S line down the future.
