That’s good then, if they live up to expectations I will sell my iPhone 11 Pro Max and S4 Apple Watch.

I’m looking forward to trying both the S21 Ultra and the Galaxy Watch 3.

I would say you will be fine as your only issue was battery life on note 20 ultra if that is fixed I’m sure you will enjoy it

They have some real quick turn arounds for delivery. I ordered at around 5:30pm this evening and I was able to select tomorrow as a delivery date. That is real quick, well done Samsung.

I’m glad you pulled the trigger.. I was waiting. Hopefully it satisfies your Note cravings lol.
im sure I will be talking more photos this year though and video as my wife and I are expecting our first child so I’m sure video taking will eat into that storage quicker I imagine
Congrats! I’m sure managing photo storage will be key going forward. I use iCloud 200GB plan as well, I take photos with the Fold2… I have a SanDisk dual drive to transfer photos to the iPad for iCloud.

They use DPD who are extremely efficient. Also, if you used Perks at work- you’ll get a further 5% cash back in wow points which can be withdrawn as cash in about 2 weeks time.

when my S21 Ultra arrives later today, is it best to put it on charge straight away or set everything up and then run down the battery and fully charge it? Also i usually put my iPhone on charge at the end of the night when I go to bed, leaving it on charge until I wake up in the morning, is it still safe to do that with a Samsung/Android phone?

I'm so so so happy I didn't let my husband talk me out of getting 512 GB. I've got 166 GB already used. I checked and the bulk of that seems to be videos I took on my older Samsung. I didn't realize I took so many videos on Android but now I remember I thought the audio on the older iPhones was crap. That was before they got stereo recording capability. So every time I could bring two phones with me I was recording video and that all got saved on my SD card and brought over now to the new phone.

When I get new iphones I don't think videos from the old iPhones comes over to my current iPhone. It's all in the cloud and I just have so sort of compressed version or thumbnail representation until I actually go to open the file and then it comes down from the cloud.

I just checked my iPhone and it shows only 32.8 GB out of 512 used. And iPhones were my main phones for the last two years. I didn't use my Note 10 much nor my S20.

Iphone is more aggressive than Samsung about getting you to conserve on-board space.

I suppose 256 GB would have sufficed for my 12 Pro Max. But I do also have another iPhone which I recorded a significant amount of photos and videos on, namely my 12 mini. I don't have it handy to see how much storage I've used up on photos and videos but I'll need to add that to get my iOS total.

I like having the stuff stored on my phone and in the cloud. I'm going to keep splurging on storage if I stay with Samsung.
I have my stuff in the cloud, but I prefer to have local copies of everything too. It's faster and of course is more reliable.

To be honest, I don't give it much thought, Samsung usually have 50+ out of the box.
I leave mine on an upright wireless charger at night, I hardly use the plug any more.

Then again, I'm very cavalier about these things so probably not the best to listen to ?

That was my main issue with the Note 20 Ultra. I loved the phone except for the battery life. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't good either. I didn't like that I had to think about it. Now with my 21 Ultra, I can pretty much use the phone however I want during the day, and not have to worry about the battery.

For me battery life about the same as my series 6. With AOD my experience was similar
Battery life was never an issue in my short time with the original galaxy watch. It easily lasted a day and a half. I think the galaxy watches are well known for having good battery life.

Okay so I had absolutely terrible battery on the s21 ultra out of the box.

I followed some advice I got elsewhere, and did 2 things that have made a big difference.

1.Reset the phone back to factory settings, and do a fresh install without smart switch. This took some work to do, but ultimately allowed me to cut out about 150 apps I have been transferring around without using them in years.

2.With the apps remaining I went into the battery section, and manually added every app I do not want notifications from to the deep sleep category.

Between these 2 steps I went from 4 hours SOT to close to 7.5 today with some in the tank.

It’s a good watch and the best one if you have an android device. For my needs wasn’t comparable to the Apple Watch but is a good watch certainly for the basics
I just read somewhere that I wont be able to download my playlists from my Apple Music account to the Galaxy Watch 3. Apple are not going to make this easy for me are they.

looks like I may need to download and create an account for Spotify.

I think you can only use Spotify on the Samsung watch for offline playback. I'm not sure if you can stream it if you have a cellular watch. I don't like Spotify. They should never have gotten rid of google play music. I loved google play music.

The Samsung watch has a small amount of onboard storage that you might be able to download music for offline playback.

You also can't download audiobooks and podcasts for offline use (well last time I checked). However as much as I use this as plus point for the Apple Watch I've never listened to an audiobook or podcast from my Apple Watch or even streamed Apple Music on my Apple watch.

The only time I listen to music on my Apple Watch is when I go for a run. Other than that it’s used mainly as a watch and just for notifications. I don’t use any apps on it other than the built in ECG for health.

I will see what happens when it arrives in a couple of hours.

The Samsung watches got an update a few weeks ago and it activated the ECG and O2 sats monitors. Have DPD given you your time slot? I'm excited for you. Let us know how it all is?

Yeah Spotify is one of the few apps on the galaxy watch watch so you will need to switch to that. I actually use Spotify now even over Apple Music on my iPhone wanted to give it a try I think it’s better for finding new songs

That’s great news because I like using health related features on my smartwatch, obviously only as an indication. I never believe that they are 100% accurate.

Yea they txt me this morning to say my time slot is between 12:22 and 1:22 pm. I’m looking forward too it all arriving and testing it out. Fingers crossed battery life is good enough on both the S21 Ultra and the Galaxy Watch 3.

I’m sure you will enjoy it. Based on your use cases I don’t think you will miss the Apple Watch like I did if you don’t use apps.

Let’s know you’re thoughts on the silver, I wasn’t sure when ordering but went with the black

I don’t use apps at all, my Apple Watch has been used for tracking my runs, listening to music on my runs, telling the time and getting notifications like txt messages (which I then pick up my phone for and txt back).

Oh and the ECG I use about once a mont just to keep an eye on health (as a rough guide).

Will do, I ordered the 512GB Ultra, mainly because i got it for a really good deal but also with the s pen I will probably write more notes and edit more photos. I do have a few videos on my iPhone that will transfer over.

Also I don’t plan on getting One Drive or any other cloud storage. i already have iCloud storage 50GB, but If I keep the S21 Ultra and Watch 3, I will stop the subscription to iCloud and just use my iPad Pro local storage.

Does anyone know if I can still use iMessage on my iPad Pro after putting my SIM card into my S21 Ultra? I’m still keeping my iPad Pro and Mac.
