Listening to the news and it sounds like we'll be wearing masks into 2022 so thankful for the improved in-screen fingerprint authentication vs something like Face ID.

The only upside is that they are going to allow you to unlock your iphone with your Apple Watch. This is fine for me but not everyone owns an Apple Watch. Also there are other apps like my banking apps and WhatsApp that require Face ID for logging in and this won’t address those issues.

Haven't worn a watch in decades except Garmin when I run marathons to keep from going over pace. Someone recently gifted me a Galaxy Watch 3 and while it looks nice it feels redundant like stand-alone MP3 player, GPS, etc. and limited if you already have a phone. Plus, screen is too small and battery life too short to do much on it other than the basics. I'll take built-in vs an accessory dongle.

Sorry but I think devices should work when you set them up out the box. And I did find the settings, tweaked them and tested it again on another run, so please don’t tell me what I did or didn’t do. I really don’t know why you feel the need to quote me on this. If you don’t like my opinions or doubt my experiences, it’s fine you don’t have to respond to me or even read my posts.

I contributed my opinion, like it or not it’s my honest opinion and experience, I’m not going to say otherwise just to validate what you may think.

I don’t think we need to keep going backwards and forwards, the devices are on the way back to Samsung and I’m back on iPhone and Apple Watch. There really is no point in us continuing this, we obviously differ in a big way.
Dave after 8000 post you still seem to be struggling with accepting others replies to your opinions that you can equally ignore as you suggest to me

I am not telling you what you did or did not do other than from your typical short info you provide

I tried changing a lot of the settings, nothing worked

I do not care if you retuned your device for most trivial of reasons and its probably no surprise to all that you did LOL

However what I am passionate about is helping others or reading how others help.

Part of engaging in these forum chats is to discover new things or even pay back assistance you may of received in the past. Most are willing to help on the simplest of issues and it leaves a nice breadcrumb trail for others to follow the self help route

Your short replies with no depth or even a simple screenshot hidden behind that's my experience or opinion denies all this simple yet effective method of knowledge sharing. As an example even today GM found out about additional ad blockers in Samsung browser by chance.

For someone who posts so much with so many questions etc it now leaves a dead end to why you got cartoon pictures or poor GPS tracking etc

Whilst it's not compulsory to contribute I am at odds to understand why not, unless you have mistaken genuine curiosity and offers of assistance over being persuaded to leave IOS, as if that was ever likely to happen LOL

I am sure you have more to contribute than just your opinion on likes and dislikes given how much others have helped you even down to retuning your Samsung products :D

To be fair to @Dave245 he is right when he states Apple devices tend to just function with no user intervention. I have a mixed iOS and Android (Samsung) household and while the Android stuff has more options, it definitely requires more tinkering and maintenance.

My wife has a Samsung Watch Active 2 and while it's a nice smartwatch, it is definitely more problematic than my Apple Watch S5. It connects when it feels like it sometimes and went through a period of randomly draining the battery like crazy for no obvious reason.

My AW and iPhone, however, have had no issues. But they're definitely more boring. :)
To be fair there is a line between familiarity and working out of the box :)

If I gave an IPhone to my wife she would be stuck and have numerous problems, not because its a bad phone but simply she has never had one or desires one

The same is true if you want greater options and flexibility there is will always be a greater commitment from the user

Too many shades of gray on this :)

I agree it was probably of no surprise that I returned the Samsung devices. The most I have ever come to keeping one was the Note 20 Ultra. I really did like the design with the curved display and internal SPen.

To be honest it’s not like I haven’t learned anything about all of this. I’ve learned that I’m definitely an Apple guy and while I’ve been curious, IOS is much more easier and friendly for me to use. I’m not a big tech person, while I like my technology I don’t have a mass amount of knowledge about it. Android even less so.

I do try to help out if I can (it’s usually when there’s a question in the IOS threads). I have taken what you’ve said about providing more information on board for future reference :)

When I used to use iTunes, it seriously messed up id3 tags, organizing music was terrible, it wasn't much use to me.
Then again, this was back in the day when Apple used to charge money to update an iPod! Imagine trying to do that now?

I'm guessing it's a lot better now but redundant for me.

I still use iTunes to organize my libraries hence my search for how to best integrate or consolidate it with Android

but I fully respect anyone who does not like it.

Itunes is the most unfriendly piece of work. I didn't like it, it never communicate to you and extremely slow.???

Customisation wise and all nothing beats Android.
I thought iTunes was easy to use. I have a ton of TV shows and movies that I’ve brought from there over the years.

I don’t use it as much now (unless I’m buying yet another TV series) as I have Apple Music. I use to use it all time for my music tho.

Android is a lot more customisable there is no question about that. It’s got better over the years as well (compared to TouchWiz on the S4 that I had). I just think IOS is a lot easier to use.

iTunes is ok when you are used to it. However I remember back in 2006 when I got my first iPod it was it was a struggle to work out how to use it. Now it’s ok because I’ve been using it for so long. Of course drag on drop is a lot easier.

I have a large collection of music that I’ve purchased either from iTunes or ripped form CDs. I use iTunes to manage it all. I buy far too many TV shows and movies from iTunes though.

i have also been using it to backup my iOS devices
each time i decided to upgrade or iPhone malfunctions i had local backup to recreate everything without thinking about iCloud. thats how versatile i have found value in it

also now laying the background of how to possibly also create backup(s) of the S21 should anyone have been doing so with their Android experience?

Nothing new happens every Samsung phone, wait another month for $400 off. Early adopters get rorted, resale tanks as well.
please note that i put it out not necessarily to criticise but for anyone who wants to take advantage of the bargain(s)

Most people are probably opting for the S21 Ultra instead of the S21+. That's a good deal on the S21+ though especially the 256GB which is same price as 128GB. Hope the blue is worth the wait since the brown looks nice.
