Tried to order a s21 ultra from Samsung uk for a family member today. Showing a delivery date of 7-10 days as opposed to the normal next day. Can’t imagine there’s been a stampede for them of recent

Perhaps something to do with coming out of lockdown on Monday for non essential trade?

Question for all owners of S21 and recent Samsung flagships:

Are you happy with how notifications are handled in Android and Samsung phones?

Recently I've been missing the iPhone function that turns the screen on when any notification arrives. Found an app that does this in Android, but only for 5 seconds, instead of the 10 of the iPhone I think. Everything else I like about Samsung, but I do notice that e-mails show up later than with my iPad, for example.

Does anyone know a way to make OneUI 3.1 or Samsung phones turn the screen on when notifications arrive better than the app I found?

Thanks!

Try an app called aodNotify

As for your other question... yes I am completely happy with my S21.

Curious- how much of a hit does your battery take with this running non-stop in the background? I had considered using it on my S21+ as well.

i use it on my basic S21. main attraction for me was the LED indicator
have not seen any battery issues as it is just as good as the "always on display" that comes standard on Samsung

i charge my phone after 2 days if i am to be precise.
with fast charge for just an hour. just awesome

Ah, ok. Also I think the app that the user above is looking for would be Glimpse Notifications.

That app will turn on the actual lock screen and if you have "show details" set for lock screen notifications, will essentially mimic iOS.

Edit: also Glimpse has a setting that will allow you to keep the screen on for 10 seconds. And it adds a quick toggle button in the notification shade (whatever the actual name of those buttons up there are called).

Samsung (until the 21 series I believe) had added the ability to use the camera cutout ring for notifications in edge lighting, but it seems they either removed that, or haven't added it to the new models yet. ?

Edit: I believe it was called eclipse in their software

Let me see if I read this correctly. Your phone battery last 2 days? If so.. that's impressive. And I've heard of aodNotify and I believe I installed it briefly.

Tbh, I don't have a major issue with how Samsung/Android displays notifications... and ever since OneUI 3.0+, notifications has been popping up while the display is off. Before OneUI 3.0, I'll have to wake up the phone in order to see them.

This really is the strangest thing. I continually read where people say their screens turn on with notifications and they want to stop it, and vice versa. I've not found a native way to get my screen to turn on when I receive one.

Yes 2 days. I am not too heavy though on actual voice calls etc
My phone essentially does mostly text stuff and occasional multimedia and camera plus a bit of productivity stuff.

Mine doesn't necessarily turn on.. but I get those edge lighting, where it doesnt' light up the entire screen.. just a strip near the top of the display.

I can generally go about a day and a half on my S21+. Might even be able to extend that a bit if I turn off my work profile - where I get an average of 200 emails / teams notifications a day.

Is there a way to turn off the

“⚠️Glimpse notifications :time”

that appears on the Lock Screen?

And only leave a clean interface of the actual notifications.

Your picture seems to be broken, I don't see that on mine when I get a notification. All I see is the actual notification.

*research mode activated* ?

It's been time for an upgrade for a while and it does seem like it might be a Samsung. Last Samsung phone I use is currently the s7 edge ? anyway it's probably either one of these s21 or note. Question I got is, how is the spam calls and text protection?

it was no picture but just an alert triangle emoji

i have since gone back to aodNotify as it seems to serve me better

without lifting my phone i can tell that i have new alerts because my AOD will be lit

perhaps with time i will figure out this 10 seconds ON alert solution

Oh, didn't want a YouTuber tech review video answer, thought I'd ask from users here as they are more day to day.
