I wouldn't go as far as to say the S21U "clearly defeats" the iPhone. It certainly has a bunch of features that I wish my 12 Pro Max had, but the iPhone still has a few points besides the ecosystem where it tops any Android phone in my book.

One little thing for example that never ceases to add a silver lining to my everyday life is the reader mode on Safari. I worked endlessly with my OP6T to set up an equally good reader mode which would work just as well also in dark mode but I was never able to, and that's one feature I really live and die by given how much I use it.

But yeah at the moment I'm starting to get the Samsung/Android itch again. I've tried having two phones side by side but that never really worked out well. What I'm hoping for is a new take on the iPad Mini with slimmer bezels. That's something I could bring along basically everywhere and use for all the things the iPhone does better, including access to iCloud, that reader mode, etc. While using the Samsung as my daily driver phone. Maybe next year, if the iPad Mini gods smile.
There is no Android browser app that matches the functionality of Safari. I tried every browser when I gave the Pixel 4A a shot and none of them were as good as Safari. I'm too dependent on Safari's reader mode, the text size change ability, and the quick favorites website section. There's other aspects of Safari that I enjoy, too, that no other browser app offers.

Really? Hmm, I found Samsung Browser to be much much better. I've never been a fan of Safari. Scrolling always felt clunky.

And that’s why I keep a iPad and Samsung combo. As long as my iPad has cellular capabilities I can access the Apple ecosystem anywhere.

I am definitely loving my Android phone, but mac's are so much better than windows machines, I don't think I will go back anytime soon.

Wow huge difference

It was obvious s21 ultra would kill it all over the world. Even my brother who used to dislike Samsung phones bought a Black S21 Ultra .
I definitely played my part with three S21 Ultra purchases! Haha!

I'm still totally enjoying my S21 Ultra.. the wife is also enjoying her S21 Ultra.. especially the camera as she continues to discover its capabilities on a daily basis.

Who knows I may even make it to the S22 Ultra without getting the itch to change my S21 Ultra as we aren't getting a note this year. Fingers crossed.

One response from May 15 says that an email to Tim Cook and a "female from executive relations" led to testing and a response stating "it is Apple's position that it is a carrier issue."

They're using it wrong though.

One thing I’ve been trying to figure out with Apple lately: overheating. I’ve owned five iPhone 12’s so far: 12 Pro (returned) iPhone 12 (returned) 12 Pro Max (kept) 12 mini green (kept) 12 mini purple (new baby). Also thinking back to my previous 11 Pro, which was problematic. They all have overheated for no apparent reason and needed to be rebooted and cooled off. Cases had to be removed to speed cooling. It would happen in any case or no case at all. I don’t know if this is a hardware issue or IOS but it’s cheesing me off.

My s21 Ultra has been fine and only warms up during extensive camera use. It can get very warm but not alarmingly piping hot like my iPhones.

I definitely need to keep an iPhone and remain in the “ecosystem” but what is going on with iOS these days? Also the displays this year have been a hot mess. My new 12 mini is flawless as is my s21 Ultra display. My 12 pro max and my green mini displays look okay in bright light but have issues in darkness with some crazy glow in the dark stuff going on.

I’ll probably trade those two off but not during pre order. I’m not in any rush to get rid of them. I want to see what the issues with the 13 are.

Nearly-Perfect purple 12 mini is permanently here and will someday join Snowball (Pixel 2) and my HTC 10 and my tiny iPhone SE in the retirement drawer.

My XS constantly heats up. I can’t listen to music and have a navigation map open/have the phone charging. If either of these combinations are happening simultaneously, my phone will heat up quickly and no longer work. I’m tired of it. I have an old car, so I have to decide between the three and choose one if I don’t want my phone heating up and not working. Meh. I’m so tempted to try the Pixel 6 when it releases because I’m tired of these quirks with iOS.

I have an old car, too. It’s almost 30!!! I have two other vehicles in my name but they’re old, too. Not three decades old, but old enough so I’m basically in the same situation as you.

Sorry to hear your iphone is heating up, too. The first time I ever ran across this was when I got my 7 Plus. That phone was a surprise Christmas gift.

I loved that phone, loved that it was a surprise gift, and so I planned to keep it for 2 years or more. But there were two iOS updates that it got soon after I got it and then it just started getting all kinds of issues. It overheated a lot. The battery died fast. I forget what all it did wrong but those updates seemed to ruin it. So when the warranty was up I got the 8 plus. That year I did have some overheating with an S7 that replaced my Note 7. That was not a good year for me with phones!

My Pixel 3 does heat up quite a bit. I’m not sure what’s going on with that.

But with iPhone I worry it’s iOS. I’ve had stuff like this happen with my iPad mini before, too. So I can’t believe it’s all hardware related.

But some of it may be. I do know when a sunbeam hits any of my iPhones they heat up immediately.

Only time my iPhone overheats is decent use in the heat where the ultra is also the same. Neither really get warm any other time

Which is great as my note 20 ultra often overheated. Exynos 2100 certainly makes a big difference from 990

The only iOS bug that I ever had that really pissed me off was the iMessage notification bug last Oct/Nov. The way Apple handled was completely unacceptable. Should have been an urgent fix.

Never had an iPhone overheat but one major problem I had with my 11 Pro max was that if I used it in bright sunlight the screen would dim and become useless as I couldn't see a thing.
