Interesting, never used something like this before, is it braindead simple like they make it seem?

It is never as easy as it sounds but it is not difficult.

The only tricky thing is knowing what apps you remove will cause you any problems once it is gone.

I would be careful not to remove anything I wasn't 100% sure I would never need again because you won't be able to reset the phone to get it back. I am pretty sure once it is gone that is it. You have no way to reflash the firmware and start over.

So if you are careful it should work just fine.

In my personal experience I have found that as annoying as duplicate apps are that I can mostly tame the Samsung beast simply by uninstalling what I can, disabling what I can and putting everything else in sleep or deep sleep and forget about it.

If the phone starts to slow down with too many apps years from now then I will debloat the phone but the phone is not affected by the extra apps. It doesn't affect perfect or battery life.

If you tried a newer Samsung phone you would realize Samsung has done a good job trying to optimize their version of Android. But you got to try it first. Lol

My apologies.

I hope that you have gone through the basic trouble shooting steps to try and resolve your wifi and call reliability issues. If you need any help to troubleshoot anything I or I am sure others here could guide you.

If it is a hardware issue like a bad antenna or something like that then they can either repair or you could have the option to replace with a refurbished like new replace device.

If you can rule out any software issues and that leads to a hardware issue then you can make the choice that best suits you.

You deserve to have a properly working device and from what you described it is not working normally on two pretty basic and important parts of a smartphone. The phone and internet connection need to work reliably. All I am saying is a one year warranty goes fast. If you can get it fixed now it might be a good idea. And if you tried then disregard everything I just said. Lol
What's interesting is that I have the S23 Ultra, my fiance has the S23 Plus, and my future mother in law has the S23, and we all experience issues with our calls dropping. I've called T-Mobile, and they see no issues on their end. I did soem google searches and it does appear that there have been some issues with the S23 series and calls dropping. Not sure if I really want to got through the trouble to have it serviced, haha. I'll most likely either be upgrading to the S24 Ultra or iPhone 15 PM depending on how that looks. :)

However

What does that mean for Samsung Dex?!

From what I’ve read Dex has some continuity or connections to AndroidOS based on OneUI.

In particular I’m perplexed why Samsung Dex on the galaxy Tab 8 series doesn’t support direct desktop mode
FROM: Galaxy S series,
TO: Galaxy Tab S8 so that the Tabs can act as a desktop LCD display.

That alone would kill the lower end laptop battery display docks and portable touch displays. I think it would sell more.

Honestly I wish Samsung supported pure Linux desktop OS like they used to in Samsung Dex but with all the benefits of the current Dex implementation. Yet I think that is a restriction based on Google.

Not many of us like the pixel like android experience. To be honest I’ve never liked any Pixel exit the 4/5 which replaced the Nexus 4 (a beautiful android hw)

Yikes.

In this day and age why are premium phones having issues with calls on ANY carrier they’re supported to work with?

Like Calls should be THE most basic and critical function of any phone / smartphone. I haven’t experienced that issue except for a month on iPhone 5 (cannot recall if iOS 5/6) and on 3G.

Are you willing to deal with an even BIGGA Camera modul in the 15?!

I haven't had great signal strength with any Samsung ever.

Just to be clear it’s signal strength reported on screen (bars) vs call quality?

Has t-Mobile sent out an engineer to your area or reported areas you’ve reported having issues? Possibly cloning your SIM card to test calls on the towers? If enough complaints usually an engineer would be sent out. Many many years ago us tier 2 reps would see notes of engineers being dispatched to test towers (both seen and hidden)

I would say in my experience, it's so few and far between that it's really tough to nail down. Maybe once a week I'll have a call drop. But then, how do I know if it's on my end or the person I'm talking to? That's why I haven't really gone crazy with troubleshooting methods because I don't really think about it a ton, but it has happened on a work call here and there which can be a bit bothersome.

If I'm getting cack call quality, poor reception and sometimes dropped calls then I would say that my one to two bars of signal strength is a fairly reliable indicator. Never had an engineer out. Sony was even worse but I'll give iPhones their dues, or certainly the old ones, they gave me better signal reception.

I'm still impressed with how much of a battery champ my S23 Ultra is, I can easily get through a day and it's still at 50% :) that's with heavy use.

What's even more impressive is how far the battery life has come, compared to even the 22 Ultra (Exynos). I just hope Samsung don't ruin it by bringing Exynos back

Even though I only had the S23 Ultra for just a week I do miss it. The form factor, feel in the hand and battery life were unbeatable.

But I can’t have poor network connectivity, makes the whole experience redundant for me. Such a shame!

Only a few weeks left now until the Apple announcement. Thanks to my positive experience with the size of the S23 Ultra.. a 15 Pro Max/Ultra somewhere has my name on it.

I completely understand that, I use my iPhone 14 Pro Max as my main phone. The S23 Ultra is my second phone, however I use it a lot for watching videos, WhatsApp and social media. My SIM card is in my iPhone 14 Pro Max.
IOS I much prefer as a UI, apps look better (Twitter, WhatsApp for example), but the design of the S23 Ultra I love, it feels great in the hand, I love using the SPen.

That being said I'm looking forward to what Apple announce in a couple of months. I hope they increase battery life on the pro models and also at least try and compete with Samsungs zoom capabilities within the camera.

Battery life is definitely awesome, I use my iPhone when working out with Apple Fitness in the mornings, then it's back to using my S23 Ultra. My iPhone is my main phone, especially for email and calls.

Just swapped my Z Fold 4 for the S23 Ultra and it's great...but...

Pros.
Noticeably faster even than the Z Fold 4 which is certainly no slouch.
Nice camera
S Pen
Not sure about the battery life yet but it's supposed to be excellent.

Cons.
Speakers not as good.
Lowest in-call volume too loud for me. I can't hold the phone against my ear. The Z Fold 4 was perfect in this regard.
THE FINGERPRINT SENSOR SUCKS! Man this is verging on a dealbreaker and is making me contemplate keeping the Z Fold 4. How can anyone tolerate such a pony biometrics system? It works like 4/10 times for me and I have registered the same thumb four times. I never got along with the in-display fingerprint sensor on my Note 10 Plus but I thought Samsung would have perfected the tech by now. I have never had a problem with any sensor other than the in-screen ones.

In case @Azzurro's question is not understood, "bananagate" seems to be a bug/glitch with the S23 (not the Ultra, mind you) where blurring of subjects is inconsistent or even banana shaped as you see below:

medium

And as far as I can tell, Samsung has not fixed it yet and has tried the old Jobsian "you're holding it wrong" handwave.

A little context goes a long way.....Thank you. We get a ton of Apple fans come to this section to throw shade at anything that isn't Apple. I guess I jumped to that conclusion here..... That is the first I have heard of this issue to be honest. No one else in this section has menetioned it. I am also on other forums and have not heard about it either.
Either way..I hope Samsung fixes it soon with an software update :)

Thank you dnis :)
Sorry if I wasn’t able to explain myself I thought it was already a well-known issue since some, if I’m not mistaken, S22 models are already affected.
