While I agree on the pro thing about iOS is ease of use and navigation for the layman-end user, and pretty much still today. Most apps have the bulk of their settings within iOS settings. 1 root place to adjust things but its nothing like settings on AndroidOS.

Funny we're in disagreement of the iOS App Library:
I absolutely LOVE it!
- I like the OS categorizing the apps, this coming from someone that had an annoying and difficult time doing the categorizing himself (and returning to S23 STILL does). I loathed the floading of apps all across home screens, on S23 its WORSE than it ever was on iOS because I have screens that are half empty yet icons flood across other new home screens which is annoying. EVEN if I can move multiple at once (never found out how to do that on iOS prior to iOS 16/17 to be fair).

Reddit ... that's not a social app nor an information reading app. There is a LOT of endless garbage posted on there. Its an overly hyped Forum site/app. My annoyances with it are:
New posts that have nothing to do with any of my interests are brought to my attention in notifications (iOS).
Topics or posts I've commented on are automatically set to alert me with anyone replying - EVEN if not replied to my post or below in a conversation.
* major gripe (not just with Reddit but also with X/Twitter): People do NOT understand hierarchy when it comes to quotes or replying to a specific post.
- Tony says "My iPhone 15 keeps heating up when chargin to 75C anyone else having this issue?" (Tony is the OP)
- Vinnie 1st/2nd/5th poster under Tony says "The colours are nice, but the heat, and camera bump just too much. I miss my iPhone 13 mini should've have sold it. Returning my 15 Pro and looking for a 13 mini).
- Eddie in the same thread says "I've noticed the same yet also when gaming. Gaming is unbareably hot to continue past 45mins" (Eddie did not quote nor reply directly under Vinnie)
- Kyle reply's directly beneath Vinnie (or quotes) and says "Apple has no idea what their doing with their CPU's and using Titanium is a gimmick. They make garbage that's what you get Apple sheep)"

Kyle's has NO idea/understanding of quotes or direct reply's and thus Vinnie would be like WTH is up with Kyle down below me.

^ that's what I cannot stand with Reddit and X/Twitter. Mostly kids with no outlet outside to really vent and ask more detailed, or have more engaging conversations to the topic.

BTW Samsung Communities needs more growth.
On the S23 Ultra, you can sort the app drawer alphabetically. Not sure if you knew that or not.

I must be missing something ... will update momentarily.

OK update:
Although I couldn't see thr menu option you had I did see apps organized alphabetically via the side panel and selecting the grid icon which showed me my manually organized folders.

Also decided to run a few Geekbemch 6 tests - very impressed I'm glad I didn't return this kit to Roger's.

Also once I organized my home screens down to 2 I locked them in settings.

Lastly ran my Samsung switch to get my updated apps and, sms logs and call history. I think k I'm set.

Very foggy night in Tdot so took some pics and I discovered thr ProRAW option which I had no idea existed, awesome!

I had thought the S23 was an equal to the iPhone 14 regular or 15 regular - boy was I so wrong! It's like getting a better packaged iPhone with all the Pro features without the bulk, weight or bulk of a camera zit!

I got an iPhone 15 pro too as I was never happy with the s23+'s camera. I didn't really get the heat issue other than set up, or gaming whilst listening to Spotify on a train with patchy mobile reception, I'm kicking myself for wiping my s23+ lol

Kinda tempted to return the 15 pro...

Can I ask how samsung beta program works? If I download the beta, when the official release is out, do we receive that or stay on beta releases like apple?

I have not tried any of the three S23 models but I have read a great many very positive reviews of the Ultra camera. Not sure about the +model though.

Yeah the Ultra camera is really good. The moving objects issue is mostly gone. The only complaints I have, which are very minor is that indoor shots that are not in good lighting still just look off. And if it's dark out, the 10x Zoom isn't great. I was really excited to use it at Foo Fighters a few months ago but every picture was blurry.

Is this the case using 5hr ProRAW setting and the Pro camera function and you can always use Adobe Lightroom on post (free)

When you separate yourself from thr Apple iPhone announcement and look at the device imperically or just on the specs and the features you'll see what gives you more value for the dollar spent.

Currently the key factors & pain points are:
Apple Files & iCloud storage
- need to move your data into other online storage sites (M365 Basic is free for 6mths, then $11.99/mth CAN after via Samsung, pretty good deal 1TB storage.

Apple iCloud Passwords & HideMyRelay
- any passwords saved in iOS Settings, Passwords you'll need to manually copy out unless you have a Mac using the same icloud account to export all at once.
- change any sign ins using hide my relay to a real email account cause once you remove you'll not be able to recover nor use the same hidden sign in again.

Digital Wallet:
I'm still on thr fence which works best here in Canada SamsungPay or GooglePay. Any suggestions, also in how it should work??

Cheers.

Question. I thought you had gone back to the iPhone after being incredibly frustrated by Android. What changed???

True .. read above as I posted an update.
15 Pro heat issues while Qi MagSafe charging (notice Apple discontinued their own MagSafe chargers btw is very telling), and especially gaming. The S23 went minute by minute for 2 hours playing a decent COD game with barely any perceptible heat while the 15 Pro couldn't be used in hand beyond 45mins to an hour.

Once I moved my passwords and data to M365 & Chrome/Firefox it's been easier. Last night took some pics after a friend told me about raw settings and other abilities and pictures are co ING out a LIT better than expected very close and sometimes (night shots so far) better than ios - this is without pist editing too. I can also edit pictures much more using native Gallery app and convert to PDF. Go figure as PDF is native to MACH kernel which ios, ipados & macos all have yet you cannot by the picture library app con ert to pdf. I've updated the shortcut that was supposed to do this and since ios 12 it's never worked.

Lastly I'm a windows user more than macOS and soon going to take a course an networking and server administration for Linux which my next mini PC beast will be. Also network intrusion testing can be done on this S23 a lot more succinctly and fully. Soon I'm going to try FedoraCore install on my S23 and hopefully use it as a local install over Samsung Dex.

IoS needing ATv to connect to a display is pretty comical, now with usbc I still cannot access my time machine backup or normal ssd! Thought I would since I could on my former 2 iPad's that had the same 10Mbps data transfer over the same 3.2 usbc cable. Semes Apple is only powering thr usbc connection at 4.5W!! That's what happens when Apple gets too stingy with battery capacity in their devices.

I'm not so sure Apple has thr upper hand in mobile processors anymore either. 16 Pro is going to be yet larger, again with no vapor chamber and its their high end model which clearly needs it!

Larger battery longer battery life and much more efficient cpu along with AndroidOS finally matured and still improving in leaps not just incremental changes or going backwards on what didn't work well before (Apple's bump insult cane to roost them in ios 17)

That camera bump is seriously unnecessary! 5 generations (11/12/13/14/15) and its been growing significantly for no reason at all!

Gladly we have our own choices.

The ultra has a better sensor on the main camera. Lenses themselves might be different, but I think the processing software isn’t as good as iPhone or pixel. If camera wasn’t important to me I’d have stayed with s23+.

The s23 just didn’t do my dog justice

I have both phones in my hands so to speak I went from iPhone 13 Pro to pixel 7 pro to s23+ and now iPhone 15.

I found google pay and Apple Pay much the same tbh.

Smart switch works well for swapping to android on a Samsung and move to iOS worked well for me, but then I imported all my photos onto my mac and thus onto iCloud from my s23.

Ok ... so riddle me this.

Why is there no 'familiar' way at all for Galaxy devices to have SMS Verification Codes auto-fill into any app?
Tones of inquiries across this site and many others and I came across the solution only once.

PS: changing Settings > Accounts > Google > AutoFill is not the answer.

IF something is done much more succinctly and no security issues, then it is the better way K.I.S.S. still is the best model, burring things levels deep in a monolithically pattern goes against the quickest way the human mind can store and relate to specific information. avoidin that to me is better. Not sure what your definition of better way of doing things is - this is an aside to what either of us is used to btw.
It's down to the app. I notice some grab the codes and others don't.

Super clean looking. I've updated to one ui beta program and good lock doesn't work great from what I can see so no joy for me

Rumor is the official Android 14 update One UI 6 will be launched Oct. 5th, and Good Lock will also get a big update then, and released the same day. Per rumors.

I had the widgets before upgrading to the beta. The only downside is that they were sometimes too dim compared to the clock to where I couldn't see it at all. I'm sure that'll be fixed at some point.

I’m still waiting to see how OneUI 6 will look for the foldable series… Samsung delayed it. I'm surprised the beta hasn't been released yet and according to Samsung... "foldables are the future."

I understand the S series has the most users, but the beta for the Fold/Flip 5 should had been released the same time the S23 series got it.

It's ok, actually the funny thing about the Beta is that it looks more like iOS, and it actually made me miss iOS more, and now I've decided to switch to iOS.

So whoops, that backfired, haha!

Wait a min.. you actually switched? No more S23U? What are your thoughts on the new iPhone? Which one you grabbed?

I'm surprised.

I'm going to switch tomorrow. I have the 15PM in my drawer, and unfortunately to much going on tonight to switch my SIM, so I'm going to do it at my lunch hour tomorrow. I'm selling my S23 Ultra. 😊
