For anyone sitting on the fence, a certain social media site with a blue bird has people offering their referral links for 10% off codes to redeem on checkout. Just search for: Get 10% off at Samsung.com
This gives an extra 10% off the total price. The codes do get used up fast so you have to be quick.
Is that US only?

That’s UK only I believe but may work in the US - I’m UK and tried a code that was posted within the hour and it worked. The code did not work with using Chrome, only Firefox. Safari should work too. Also, you may have to delete cookies. Seems the codes are pretty sensitive!

My S23 Ultra has been delivered!🤘Good luck to everyone awaiting delivery soon.

From about a day & a half since pre-ordering, this results in a new record delivery time for me for any phone.
I’m impressed with Samsung.

A world away from the Google Nexus days and the pure crazy shambles of their pre-order system!

So lets talk ecosystem then. So my nice shiny s23ultra is sitting here and unlike apple, I now have to decide samsung gallery v google photos? samsung notes v ms onenote v google keep ? browser is easy, I like chrome.

Apparently samsung gallery integrates more nicely with the spen but google photos is perhaps a little more cross platform in case I swap back and forth

same with samsung notes I guess.....

but I dont want to hop from apple moaning about a walled in ecosystem only to suffer the same fate on samsung.

I guess the answer is google which is at least available everywhere but I'd be interested to know what other people do

Yeah and the funny thing is, it’s not the ecosystem that really has me anymore. I’m kind of meh on even having a watch anymore. My MacBook just sits on the shelf collecting dust. So if there was a time to pull the trigger on switching, now is the time. I think it’s more of a fear of regret if anything.

My thought is I’ll let the order be delivered and play with it for 2 weeks before changing my sim to it.
Mostly make sure your most needed apps are well designed for Android. I will run into the most unexpected feature failures on different apps. I can’t remember offhand to give you an example, unfortunately. I think there was one situation I could not enter my birthdate on an interface to register for an app. It only worked on iPhone. Once I got registered via iPhone then I could conduct business. It’s little things like that which trip up a lot of iPhone users and send them back to iOS. And I don’t blame them!

I do find e-commerce is smoother in general on iOS. Authentication and payment entry runs more smoothly. But everyone has different lives so try it all for yourself.

It does seem to become more equal between platforms each passing year. When I first encountered Android on a phone I borrowed from my husband for some reason, years ago, I could not understand why anyone would want to use Android at all. I’m glad I kept watching as it developed and kept an open mind and leaped in when I did even I’d Note 7 didn’t work out. No regrets.

It worked, with trade in for my S22 Ultra I'm now seeing £509.49 for the S23 Ultra.

Definitely something I’ll be testing as that’s a concern of mine. My banking apps and smart devices like garage door, cameras, etc.

From my experience, banking apps work fine (at least my banking apps do) My Blink cameras work on my S22 Ultra without issues, the app is good. WhatsApp also works great on Android too, at least in my experience.

Also the feature i had on lg v60 2 years ago, samsung finally made it available, hiding the ugly white gestures navigation bar natively from the ui.
Thats been on Samsung for several years along with switching for lefty's or righty's and I seem to recall in goodlock you could even change the gestures icons, that's not on your V60 LOL Glad to hear LG are trying to keep up with Samsung

I do not even have any apps icons on my home page being a minimalist, they are on my sidebar :)

Does your LG have that option ?

I seem to be using both Gallery and Google photos. I think but I’m not sure, Gallery now ultimately backs up to OneDrive? I remember being told Samsung was going to end its own gallery so I would need to sign up for OneDrive. So I did. In case Google ever kicks me off or me out of my account for some reason, I like my photos stored lots of places. It all works fast and seamless. Google is best if you want to access easily from an iPhone as well.

I use a lot of Samsung services like I do use Samsung’s mail app. I actually quite like it. On Pixel I have Gmail. My Google account can reach across all of my devices and unite them, but I find I don’t suffer at all for sometimes using a native app because Google ultimately seamlessly Hoovers everything up into my Google One account if I ever should drop Samsung.

However, be aware, if you decide to give up your Samsung devices make sure all of your account information is also stored and accessible somewhere else.

And that’s because no matter how I try to turn it off, Samsung two factor authentication will only ever send the code to my Samsung phone. I can’t get it to go to my iPhone. I’ve tried every damned thing to have the authorization codes go to both of my phones. It will only go to a Samsung device. I’ve changed my settings and theoretically my 2FA codes should also go to my iPhone but it never does.

I’d better not lose or smash my Samsung phone or I won’t be able to log into my Samsung account. I don’t know if anyone else is having this issue.

The Blink cameras work great, im yet to some across an app that doesn’t work great. I’m not a gamer on my phone so I can’t speak on that, but every app I do have (Twitter, WhatsApp, Banking apps, Blink Cameras, YouTube, Sky TV, Curve App) they all work great.

LOL yep I have similar issues with Google it says saved preferences etc but its never guaranteed

I like you use multiple options on photos ie google and onedrive, onedrive seems fine on my Iphone

Talking of glitches on apps Safari is a good case and wont talk to my Solar System settings page correctly and some fields are missing, yet chrome will :) or Samsung's browser

That is an excellent price with S22 Ultra trade-in! The 10% extra works out a decent cash saving on top of the usual Samsung discounts / promotions.

Hello everyone. Congrats to new owners of S23 series. I currently own s22 ultra Snapdragon version. Was thinking to switch to s23 Ultra. Is there anyone here who made such a switch? Is it worth it? Primarily for battery life.

Any advice?

It’s a very good price, just not sure I should upgrade from my S22 Ultra.

@Bkdodger

That lavender is such a strange color. It’s almost an anti color. It doesn’t want to be any one particular color from what I can tell of photos and videos. I like it!
