Update. He changed the setting. Said minor movements are better but the bigger movements still have blur.
Even my 14 Pro Max can't get clear focused photos indoors. Actually, the most amazing piece of frozen action came from my 12 Mini that caught a cicada mid flight as it was about to fly at my face. A mini is such a great size to wield for a chance encounter like that. And I got the shot. Unfortunately I think either my house or a family member was in that pic so I can't share it.

I'll give the camera a chance. It will probably get most of my cat photos. Even my iphone can't get all of them. Cats. Cats cats cats.

I like your cat picture in your profile picture! That is a cute Frisky.

Going through my photos besides my son most of my pictures are of our Chihuahua mix.

We don't have a cat now but I have been waiting one for a while now. Just don't know if I can deal with the litter box in a two bedroom apartment in Las Vegas, specially during the summer. Lol

I just decided to get a s23 and I really wanted the ultra but couldn't afford it this year. I like big screen phones but I think with a 1080p screen the smaller s23 will be better overall. Too bad Samsung didn't upgrade the cameras at all in anything but the ultra.....

Yeah sometimes you just have to be sensible, about cats and technology.

Both can be outrageously expensive. I can afford this stuff because I'm in my fifties and am not yet on a fixed retirement income. Actually come to think of it, it kind of sucks. We've been young, broke and frugal for decades, then middle aged affluent and soon my husband and I will have to once again become frugal like heck to secure our old age.

Actually, we still are very careful and selective in our self indulgence. It's really just the phones we go crazy on.

What being middle aged affluent has made a huge difference for us is that we can afford our veterinary bills: around $10,000 last year. We did a massive rescue project when my dad died. My dad and mom took care of abandoned cats and their feral offspring. The kitty in my avatar was one of the feral kittens he was feeding when he took ill. Among the things I had promised him, besides taking care of my mom, was that I'd manage the situation with his feral friends. And my husband and I did. Trap, neuter, vaccinate, release some, adopt out adoptable ones.

The kitten is grown up now. She and another very spunky kitten were the only two among the many ferals who were seriously ill with several concurrent viruses. They needed a lot of medicine and care for a couple of months.

They're grown now, but one still isn't fully well and will need to be monitored the rest of her life. The one in the photo seems recovered, knock wood. They were meant to be fosters, but they bonded both to each other and to my cats who went crazy for them and adopted them. We couldn't argue with that. Nobody wants to be judged by cats.

Getting back to the phones, I think the cameras on the regular s23 phones will be perfectly fine. You're just missing the super duper pervert zoom, really. With software optimization you're going to get really good images. Those lenses you're getting aren't exactly chopped liver.

I would appreciate it if you could give us your impression of the pros and cons of the regular S23...

- battery life
- camera
- size and weight of phone in hand and pockets
- any eye strain or headaches caused by display

Agreed, I will be testing it alot to see if those areas are an issue or not. I will try the shutter speed in camera assistant to see if it reduces quality a lot or not.

All I have heard is good things from this device so excited to try it out.

Hello, battery life is amazing. Around 11 hour's SOT pretty heavy usage judging by my experience. Phone came in with 60% ,ive used camera a lot and around 2GB video recording, downloaded and installed 80GB apps and games via Wi-Fi and the rest were youtube, telegram , trading view, binance, etc. Changed it at 6% and i had 7 hours SOT with 13 hours total use. Amazing.
For those iPhone 13 max fanboys, shhht, don't comment,i had the best phone regarding battery life, that even iPhone 13 max can't achieve. Lg v60 60hz 5000 mah is getting after almost 3 years of heavy usage still 13 houra SOT. With Android 10 and 11 i was getting 16 hour's SOT with 48 hour's usage.so i know what I'm saying.
Camera is great, overall as a package it might be the best on any phone. But only overall. I'm expecting a software update.
Comfort in hand is much better than any squared iPhone. I don't own a case atm, so i cant tell with case. I'm not affected by oled pwm, cant answer that.

Does anyone know how to disable swipe to unlock after face unlock successfully?

Also the feature i had on lg v60 2 years ago, samsung finally made it available, hiding the ugly white gestures navigation bar natively from the ui.

A proud owner of the iPhone here since 2008. I've been upgrading every single year since then. Never skipped a year. I've never owned an Android device. But man, this is pretty impressive and commendable!🫡 👏🏻 🙌🏻

boo... as expected just the case was delivered for me which was part of the same order.

I guess I'll wait a bit longer for the phone and watch to arrive. At least the text last night did say "earlier than expected" so fingers crossed they both arrive before the 17th as originally planned.

Well I can highly recommend you joining us on the dark side! 😎

I'll never leave Apple completely but Android is now well on-par, often surpassing what Apple can currently achieve. A vast improvement since the old days of Android. Video quality for Samsung has now at last caught up with Apple.

What I like is both Apple and Samsung are not now always focusing on yearly hardware changes but refining their software to get the best out of iOS & Android.

However, Apple's design form for the iPhone since the 12 launch really does need a hardware update / refresh, I think they're missing a new Jonny Ive. Hoping they deliver something special with the 15 Ultra this year.

I wish I could be a two phones type of guy, but I've tried and it just doesn't fit in with my busy lifestyle.

I've been contemplating cancelling my preorder, which sucks because a big part of me does want to break away from Apple. I feel like their software is going down the tubes and I can't believe how buggy it's become. The reason why I'm thinking about cancelling is because I just don't want to deal with the selling of the phone, watch, even maybe my Macbook that collects dust. And then moving everything to Android, trying to remember all of my passwords.

Just kind of at the point that what I want to do compared to the effort that will go into making it happen is weighing on me.

I understand your trepidation but take it in small steps. You do not need to sell the phone and watch in one day and if the Mac is currently unused, it can go a bit later.
Passwords are recorded somewhere I assume so not a big issue. Go ahead but that is only my opinion.

Phone hasn't arrived and you already dreading selling the iPhone and AW.

You keep looking over the fence... eventually you have to jump over to actually experience it fully, that way you can see for yourself if you like it or not.

You can always go back to Apple... its not as if they are planning on discontinuing their products.

Oh for sure. I've tried several times throughout the last 6 years and it never goes well, so I think some of it is just knowing the eventual result, but this is the first time in 2 years that I'm giving it a shot.
