February update rolling out...

View attachment 2161563
yeah, im really impressed with this update, minus the jpg compression of cameras - they are so agressive - 2-4 MB photos is so little in my opinion. but on the video side, hands down S23 Ultra is the best phone. here is example
i only had 2 out of 5 light bulbs on. so low light video. P.S. this should look VIVID on OLED TV or display. IDK how it looks on IPS ones, but if you do own an IPS one, CHANGE IT!!!

Oh my! Wow that looks really sweet! That's the deepest red I've seen it look in photos so far.
Maaaan, the red color looks so nice ...

It really is a great looking device, im glad I waited the extra time for the red colour. I’ve downloaded my apps, set it all up. The main thing I want to test is battery life.

How are you getting on with yours? Is it a keeper?
Amazing device for sure. Still not sure what to do yet. It’s no reflection really on the ultra it’s more down to the pixel being superior for photos of my son and family which is the sticking point. My pixel costs £400 less than my s23 ultra so cost is also playing a factor when I have my iPhone and fold as well.

that said Samsung nailed it this year for sure. I’m sure you will love the battery life

I get you, regardless of how well I get on with my S23 Ultra I will still keep my iPhone as well. In my opinion it is far superior for fitness, I have apple fitness+ and I've just recently brought a treadmill for the house. I'm planning on keeping both for at least the foreseeable future.

🤯😦😵‍💫

Goodness, the things that used to walk/fly this earth!

Has anyone been keeping vague track of all the UFO/UAP talk around fairly recently? I'm not talking about conspiracy sites but mainstream sources like CNN.

If there are UFOs flying around us, apparently now is a good time to keep a good zoom lens camera on you! 😬👽👾

I personally want no part of that kind of excitement. But I do want a good zoom!

I'm super busy but I'm going to try to squeeze in time to do more testing between my S22 Ultra and the S23 Ultra before I pack it off and send it back.

My husband let me borrow his S23 Ultra to read on. I can definitely feel the pwm but it's not causing me pain. I didn't get a headache from his display like I did mine. Go figure!

He thinks I should try again after my return is processed.

Why not call Samsung and see if they will just exchange it for another one. If you explain what is happening and that your husband's doesn't bother you.

Maybe you can get an exchange. Keep the extras that came with it and be happy if you get a better screen. When they send the exchange of things still go south you should still be able to return everything.

I understand that you can't live with what you have now but it would be ashamed of you do buy another one and have to miss out on the pre order bonuses.

Yeah my apple watch makes it impossible to leave iPhone plus I have loads of apple devices and overall I enjoy the OS so no point ever leaving for good. I do love Android though so glad I'm able to use both

Actually good gracious have you seen the deals running as of this morning? I wonder if I can order now before my return is even processed!

Nevermind they are different now than when I saw them over an hour ago. That's weird. Or I mis read. But now the trade in value is $600 not $500 for my s22 Ultra and somehow the final cost shows the same as when I bought my s23 Ultra the first time. Weird. Their system is confusing. They are still giving $100 accessory credit. No more $50 early registration bonus but I don't care. I actually will use the case that came with my husband's phone most of the time.

I think this time I will go with just 512 GB. Because if the screen doesn't agree with me my husband and I will trade phones. I may just get a color he likes for that reason. But he says he doesn't care if I get lavender again because it will go into a case anyway.

He doesn't want me to trade away my s22 Ultra. We might just send his in for my trade since it will get $100 more. His will be full price. I don't know we will figure it out later. We are both so busy right now it's hard to think straight.

I'd better get back to my work.

I have only just seen the Apple watch Ultra IRL this weekend in an Apple store in Bangkok as all the regional experience stores cheap out and do not have a display watch

I was really disappointed as that snazzy watch face they always demo you need eyes of a 30 year old to read it and the screen display area is no bigger than the AW8 etc

I had visions of going just AW autonomous with LTE at times but if I have to put my glasses on just to check the time the appeal is limited for me

A little Miata!

That should be a fun car. Big difference from what you had. I had a Honda CRX a long time ago. Small, fast, great on gas. Surprisingly roomy car too.

Due to gas costs I sold my Toyota RAV4 2017 for a Nissan Versa. Great little car. Great gas mileage. Due to the crazy used car prices I barely paid anything for it new. Had to wait a few months to get it last year but it was worth it.

Hope you enjoy the Miata. Mazda makes some great cars/SUVs!

For that watch face sure it’s not the largest for digital time but the bigger display is ideal for typing and generally seeing more in apps. The main strength is the battery life though. Main reason I got it.

I think I may have found a potential life hack in getting out of the Apple Ecosystem. I chose not to wear my Apple Watch Ultra for 2 weeks before ordering this phone. What did I realize? I actually really like not wearing a watch! Can't wait to sell it. My MacBook has been collecting dust for the last 6 months as well. We use our Pixelbook more because it's super easy to quickly open and take care of a quick task. For the first time in probably a good 5-6 years, I find myself in a place where I have much less attachment to Apple as a whole.

I did the same with my AWU...stopped wearing it for a weekend to see how much I would miss it...funny thing happened though. i haven't missed it in over 2 weeks now. Might end up selling it....
Still kinda mad at Apple for eSim. Then the rumors of a buttonless iPhone 15 makes me cringe....

The interesting thing about the AW is that it "just works" in taking over notifications etc from your phone. So suddenly, everyone is VERY attached to their AW because they're glancing at it all day for those notifications. What happened when I stopped wearing mine was I realised I wasn't missing out on anything, the notifications were just popping up on my phone instead :)

That freed me from the AW and in my case, meant I could wear some of my posh old fashioned analogue watches ;-)

Still kinda mad at Apple for eSim.

Wellll mad because of the principle of esim or mad because of the complete mess most cell providers are making of the implementation?

In principle, I kinda like esim. No need to get some stupid physical bit of plastic BUT it's only good if you can instantly move it between devices with zero hassle, downtime or weirdness.

Then the rumors of a buttonless iPhone 15 makes me cringe....

well yeah me too :( years ago I saw a patent for a completely touch+haptic macbook and tbh I thought they'd have gone there by now. I'm very very glad they haven't but I kinda feel it's inevitable.
