I was being sarcastic as most people don't really care about colour calibration when they're using an app.
Seriously, tell me of an app that is unbearable to use, in your opinion, and I'll show you a screen which, in my opinion, is unbearable to use.
I have a Samsung screen so displaying an unbearable app shouldn't be a problem.

Nah, most apps are designed to look good on Samsung screens even if it’s not accurate. That’s what I was talking about. ;)

If I recall correctly, also the OnePlus 5 camera received a good rating while in real world it was less than stellar. So I’ll wait for more camera reviews :)
I don't see the OnePlus 5 in top end smartphones on the DxO list...

So best display (Displaymate) and best camera (DxO). Not a bad start for the S9.
As expected.

Note 9 will replace it has the best display and best camera, then iPhone X Plus will replace the Note 9. Then new the Google Pixel will replace the iPhone has the best camera...then S10 will replace them again next year...We know how this turns out already. Lol.

speaking of note 9, when will it be announced? I am loving my note 8 but if note 9 will have significant changes, I will be very tempted. LOL. I hope it's just a minor one like the S9.

I can't wait to see note 10 already :p:D:oops::)o_O:D

I don't imagine the Note 9 will be that much of an improvement over the S9+ hardware wise. This camera was just redone, the screen brightness was upped. I think the Note 9 will be more of a software update release with Bixby 2.0 and whatnot.

Chances are they are going to save the major redesign for the S10, but that's just my thought.

I agree...that is pretty much how it went last year as well.

screen brightness upped?! this note 8 screen is almost too bright if turned up brightness lol.

I really hope note 10 will have a bigger display because I love this to replace my phone, tablet, and possibly laptop needs. <3

Basically the extra specs the S9 got lol

And a few other s pen features I imagine. So hard to improve a good amount these days.

Well, they can come out with the Android version of iMessage.

It's probably most helpful when your using the phone in direct sunlight

Yes I use that but I never found myself go all the way up in direct sunlight because it was plenty bright!

Samsung S9+ DxO results are in

“Samsung knew it had something worth talking about. And according to DxOMark, it worked: the Galaxy S9+ received its highest-ever mobile rating of 99.”

https://www.androidcentral.com/galaxy-s9-plus-best-smartphone-camera-dxomark-has-ever-tested

It's interesting to dig into the details on the score and compare it to the Pixel 2. While both shooters are phenomenal, it looks like the S9+ squeaked past the Pixel 2 because of the zoom lens (and does have a better 'noise' score which is likely why it topped out the Pixel 2). Again, both are great cameras and I take DXOMark rankings with a grain of salt, I just thought it was interesting once Droid-Life dove into the numbers.

Highly doubt they do. Android have tried to compete with iMessage but have failed for the most part.

The S9+ does a bit better...overall though. But you can't go wrong with the P2 for sure.

probably not Google. I think Messenger is the most viable way. It came out way earlier than iMessage with all the features. If we convince all the phone makers to abandon SMS, and Google gets partnership with Facebook making messenger the default messenger, that'd be great! Messenger is actually what I think Apples iMessage was partly inspired from. I feel like this is the best and most effective solution.

The only reason I use SMS now is for the Apple folks- my parents and friends and family who are on Apple which is practically almost everybody.

Also, Messenger already have SMS support and you can make that your default message platform, they will need to take the next step to incorporate it into the messenger on on the desktop and make their messenger work like iMessage if you have messenger it would be a chat and if not it would default back to SMS.

I'll pass on the Galaxy S9;

You can't get rid of Lagwiz on a Galaxy phone. Just because you install Nova launcher and an icon pack, and set animations to .05 or even 0, doesn't eliminate it. It's still very much there running the phone. Plus the bootloader is locked down like a door on submarine, they cannot be rooted and no way ROM'd.

I had the Galaxy S8+, and did all the Package Disabler stuff, and installed Nova, and did as much debloating as possible on a U..S carrier Galaxy phone, and you know what ? Lag was still there. I now have a Pixel 2 XL, and before doing anything to it, it was smooth as butter zero lag whatsoever. Plus you shouldn't have to set animations to zero to make the phone feel smoother, to test how smooth a phone is, keep it to 1 second animation, and it should be fluid and buttery smooth in opening and closing apps, like they are on Pixel phones.

Stock Android runs circles Galaxy S phones. The Galaxy S9+ does zero for me, just no reasons whatsoever I'd want it over the Pixel 2 XL. Samsung phones have become generic appliance type gadgets.

Lag during what? Give specific examples. I have used all S8/ S8+ and Note8. 0 Lag for me. I get to squeeze 4-6 SOT also without issues.

Stop stereotyping that statement that lag is present. maybe is the package disabler which is hindering the correct phone handling. Jeez.
