I see advantages to the Pixel and the Galaxy that I can't shake.

Galaxy pros:

Better display
Better build quality
Better speakers (important to me)
Expandable storage
Still has headphone jack

Galaxy cons:

Will be loaded with bloat (Verizon)
Bixby
Samsung skin
Slow updates

Pixel pros:

Stock Android (how Google intends it to be ran)
No bloatware
Updates
Really good camera

Pixels cons:

Bad hardware design
No wireless charging
Display is not as good

It's honestly a really hard decision
If you can wait, see what the pixel 3 and note 9 offer, simply because the Snapdragon 945 has really sped things up, my S9 is right up there with my iPhone X as far as speed, and really smooth too.

I'm also reading apps like Package Disabler Pro no longer work with S9. Another bummer.

How are people dealing with Samsung apps? Just disabling/hiding them via the default methods?

Just uninstall or Disable them. Thats being said alot of the Samsung Apps are better then the google counterparts.
Fully agree with that ^

I now delete the Google apps I don't want before the Samsung equivalent!
[doublepost=1526545566][/doublepost]Whilst not perfect, no phone is, I'm still really happy with the s9+ and gear s3 frontier combo.

Is it me or is the front facing camera a real weak point?

Coming from the Pixel 2, it's really noticeable.

In every day use, the S9+ is a better experience than the Pixel 2. I like the Pixel 2. It does a few things exceptionally well, and there are certainly a few things I miss from it, but overall, Google still has some ways to go before they can offer such a comprehensive package.

I think it'll be the S9+ for me for the foreseeable future.

Samsung Galaxy S9 download speeds are 37% faster than those of the Apple iPhone X?

The iPhone is already behind on tech. Band 12 LTE helps w/ T-Mobile for instance.

If you're in the market for a S9 or S9+, this looks like a great deal.

Verizon phones are factory unlocked, anyway, right? I am not giving the S9+ a 4th shot. I rather just go for the Note 8 instead I go back to Samsung.

Yes, they are unlocked. But I didn't know you had the S9+ that many times. Yeah, I guess time for something else.

Yeah, 3 times with a defective screen on each unit. So yeah it’s Note 8 or pure Android at this point.

Yeah, that stinks. My S9 has been flawless. Been my daily driver over my 2XL for over a month now.

You went from the XL to the smaller S9? Just curious, why not the +?

I went from Pixel 2 to the S9+. Wondering if I should be trying the S9.

The S9 is a joke of a device imo. It's the same thing as the S8, except with a faster processor, brighter screen, slightly improved camera, new FP sensor location, and stereo speakers.

Samsung added all the good hardware improvements to the S9+ with 2gb RAM, dual cameras, and a bigger battery there. If you want battery life and performance to go along with a better camera, go S9+.

"The S9 is a joke of a device imo. It's the same thing as the S8" … and what about the iPhone 6, iPhone 6s, iPhone 7 and iPhone 8?
… and I bet it will be the same with the iPhone X, iPhone Xs, iPhone whatever…

I haven’t owned those base level models excluding the X. It is annoying to pay the extra premium to get a couple of major additions.
