Done with this conversation. You are very snarky and seem to want to pick a fight with everyone here.....

So true. All those who complained about bloatware most probably they are just too lazy to find out. Of course some just regurgitated ancient stuff which is no longer true.

Nope not special, people just like to whinge about Samsung and don't even try to disable stuff they don't want. the reality is its very easy to do and it gives us choices!!

You're hilarious my friend.. that wit is uncanny!?

you need to stop playing the victim card here and try to be a little humble.

You cannot seem to accept what more than one person has proven to you in that the "irremovable" applications you have highlighted are indeed removable on our Samsung devices.

Additionally, as a general comment.. no one is forcing you to suffer the pain of your "terrible" Samsung experience.. change phones perhaps? Samsung invest a lot of money and effort on their software experience including those applications you call "bloat" because there is a market for them.

Then to be honest if someone prefers the stock Android apps...they can always buy a Pixel. The beautiful thing about Android is the freedom of choice and customization.

If you don't like the Android skin Samsung or LG installs over stock Android...don't buy those phones. Buy a Pixel or OnePlus or Nokia or others. There are a lot of choices out there and some very nice phones.

Done with this conversation. You are very snarky and seem to want to pick a fight with everyone here.....

So get of your high horse!!

So tell me again, who is playing games? All I did was list what I believe to be negatives of the phone... You and others were proven wrong so now instead of saying ' my bad ' and moving on you double down on the rhetoric? Nice!

I used to hate the samsung browser until I used it for a few days.

It's way smoother and faster than chrome and you can install add blocking plugins that you cant on chrome.

That and the bookmarks tab is in a perfect spot to use vs re adjusting your grip to hit it on the top drop down menu in chrome.

Try the Samsung browser with no adds for a day and you will never use chrome again

The browser appears to be fine but my issue with it is I have thousands of passwords saved in Chrome and I use a Pixelbook quite often. Syncing tabs and passwords is a top priority for me. I have yet to find a way to import Chrome passwords into the Samsung Browser and I do not believe there is any way at all to sync open tabs.

I tried to use it and a few website into it;s use I was constantly stuck trying to remember passwords. I'd have to open Chrome and see what the saved password was. No interest in doing this 1000+ times...

I'd be happy if I could just delete the Samsung apps I'll never use. I see no reason to bake them in other than to force their use. Either way, I like the phone well enough and after trying the Samsung Email app for a day I am back to gmail. There are other things I'd like to get rid of like Gallery as I use Google Photos but nope, no dice on that one either...

Thanks for the rational and adult response though. I almost missed it among all the other hateful muck...

The point is your hate was directed at Samsung where it should be directed at your carrier. If you buy a unlocked S9 directly from Samsung all their apps are easily uninstalled. This is also the case for most carrier supplied phones. Im very sorry your carrier baked the Samsung apps into the phone but don't make comments like the bellow if you dont want people to set you straight.

"Samsung runs android with their own skin on top and they are well known for bloat, crapware and duplicate services. There is no reason to bake their apps into the OS so they can't be removed other than to force their use and/or collect info when they are running in the background. If you buy a Pixel 2 can you remove the browser? Yup! Can you remove the email client? Yup! Can you remove? Yup, yup and more yup. It's not an android thing, it's a Samsung thing."

Hate? LOL.. Drama much? I listed a few things I didn't like about the phone...

And how exactly did you 'set me straight' since I just looked at my phone and guess what? The apps are still there and they still can't be removed.... Can you 'set me straight' again please but maybe this time do it right? Thanks!

Because if you actually open your eyes and read my post you will see it was YOUR CARRIER that baked those apps in, NOT SAMSUNG. Anyway i'm done with you, i'm not sure if you are just slow or trolling.

Oh okay, so now I've went from an idiot who does not know how to disable apps, a lazy person who only wants to complain and a whiner to now getting called a muppet... And you say I am the problem? LOL

I've proved you wrong and now you want to toss out more name calling and put downs since you have no clue what you are talking about? = Nice!

You can also go to "Chrome web store" > Search "Samsung Internet", and then add the extension to Chrome.

Best features of the Samsung browser for me is, full emersive option, using biometrics to enter passwords. And it's super smooth

That’s one of the dumbest things I have read on this thread.
Are you claiming carriers are baking “Samsung” apps into carrier phones?

I usually buy unlocked versions of phones but had to buy a carrier version this time to get the killer deal I got. Mine has since been paid off and unlocked by AT&T but it's still in essence, a carrier phone..

As I've said numerous times, it's a fine phone and I dig it. The crap I can't remove is not a deal breaker but in my mind it's still a con of the phone..

Picked up an S9 last weekend. Best Buy had $300 off so I snagged the regular S9 for $489 (AT&T version) put $450 down and financed $39. You had to be on financing to get the deal. Called AT&T next day and paid it off and then requested unlock code which I got yesterday...

It's a sweet phone. Not sure if I am going to keep my iPhone X or sell it after using the S9 for a few days now, I dig it...

Pluses:

Screen
Fingerprint reader
It's fast
Feels better in hand than the X
Always on screen
Notification light! - Hadn't realized how much I miss this

Bummers:

Bloat
Junk
Duplicate services and apps
Bixby - Seriously Samsung? Just kill it off!

Damn you! Why did you have to bring this sale to my attention. I blame you that I picked up an S9+.

And yeah, performance is bonkers on the S9, loving it.

Well that seems to be the case in Raqballs instance. They are unable to uninstall the Samsung Browser and Email app. Whatever the issue is its not common as all the S9's I've used including my own allow me to uninstall all the Samsung apps. Its obviously a Carrier level issue.

It is very common on US carrier Samsung phones, not just mine.. It's some sort of deal or decision Samsung has made as I can guarantee you, AT&T couldn't care less if those apps are on the phone or not...

Perhaps in the US it is common, if so thats sucks. To me it makes no sense, why would Samsung sell their Unlocked phones that can have their apps uninstalled then force carriers to have the apps built in.

Hence why I was blaming Samsung for it. The carrier(s) couldn't care less if the Samsung apps are baked in or not as they have their own pile of poo they'd love to use that extra space for..

Perhaps the Carrier gets a discount if they agree you have certain Samsung apps baked in. In which case I would avoid that carrier like the plague.

I usually buy unlocked phones but this was a deal to good to pass up. Got the S9 for $489 and then had AT&T unlock it. I don't really mind the extra bloat but it would be nice if there was a way to remove it. I am sure the carriers get something in return for it..

T-Mobile, in the US, might be the carrier exception as they sell the Samsung unlocked version.

Good news is the Samsung Browser is by far the best Internet browser for Android. It would still be nice to be able to uninstall it but I don't think its really a big issue, just hide the app in your launcher and forget its there. The only downside is you lose a few hundred MB's of space and its a non issue when you have the SD card slot and the amount of cloud storage available to us these days.

The Samsung Browser is fine and if I could find a way to sync open tabs between devices (S9 and Pixelbook) and import all my passwords, I'd probably use it over Chrome. I do have the paid version of Pushbullet which will let me push tabs between devices but it's not quite the same as syncing them via Chrome.
