Not quite true Note 20's are supported on T-Mobile

Not sure who's been shady here and no different to shady deals by Apple in some countries that they have been fined for :)

It is certainly odd but with an international version + T-Mobile it looks doable
This one phone from one carrier after years of ESIM being available. Thats how pathetic this is, Google that doesn’t even sell more phones than Samsung has managed to offer ESIM as long as Apple. But Samsung can’t do it because it will piss off the carriers and the excuse is that it can’t piss off the carriers. I wonder generation after generation of lower sales if they will finally get their act together.

They are all as bad as each other

Apple had additional clauses for many carriers who's extra costs were passed on to the consumer until they were caught on unfair practices

Or all the millions of consumers with Iphones who do not get same support/service etc yet pay the same or more for their IPhones as US etc

No one knows the real truth behind Samsung/US Carriers/Qualcomm lack of US esim, but I agree it's odd

Well, no point in holding off. Just grabbed the 256GB Flip 3 White (not cream), and BT Galaxy Watch 4 Classic 46mm. Got the whole thing for $1396 CAD. That's a heckuva deal in Canada. ?
I'll be going without a case on this one. That white and black combo, and the folding form factor, just look too sleek to hide. My end game is the Fold, in a year or maybe two. I have a feeling I won't be going back to slabs.

UK people...
I was lucky to have a Reddit user send me a 10% off code for Samsung's website, and in turn this has generated me receiving 10 codes of my own to share.

If anyone from the UK wants to use the link to get themselves 10% off anything on the Samsung store, just let me know.
I have 4 to give as 6 will go to other Reddit users.

Just ordered my Flip for £400 (with iPhone trade in and discounts) - and also using a 20% off code for the Galaxy Watch 4. :D

Strange comparison... of course it's going to be 2x the thickness of an iphone or another phone when folded. It folds in half onto itself so that's to be expected?

The Z Fold is great an all but I could argue the same for the Fold's external screen - which is too small still to be truly useful when one can't open the phone fully. Trying to type a text message on that outside screen with an adult thumb - nightmare.
My point in the comparison is that the extra viewing area above the iPhone 12’s isn’t very useful.

If we measured the Z Flip 3’s screen diagonal like the 16:9 smartphones of old it would be equivalent to the Galaxy S7’s 5.1” screen. Hardly a phablet!

If I’m going to have a 16mm thick smartphone in my pocket I’ll take the Fold for double the screen area but both of these aspect ratios aren’t ideal in my opinion.

Cool. Not for you then. :). Also I don’t think anyone was referring the Z Flip 3 as a phablet?

It’s still a neat phone don’t get me wrong, I just don’t like how it baits people into thinking they are getting a massive 6.7” smartphone.

This was in the Z Fold 3’s thread.

So what's the whole idea or point of the foldable phones?
You get a tablet experience that folds down into a candy bar style, pocketable phone.

The Flip, different altogether. It’s a tall “Max” sized phone (unfolded) that snaps down into a very pocketable clamshell. The ‘point’ of it? Well, for me I just like the fact that it turns a big slab phone into a pocketable square. It brings life back to the old flip phone days (glory days, IMO) and shows that the mobile phone world is evolving. We went through years of incremental upgrades, or just improvement in camera, screen and battery tech and I feel it was all becoming a bit stale year on year.

Not sure on your point?
Im referring to the Fold when I said it’s a tablet experience folded down into a candy bar phone.

And I said the Flip is a ‘max’ sized phone that flips into a square.
I see no lies?

When you watch a 16:9 video on the Flip you’ve got a 5.17” phone. That’s not a max sized phone.

The iPhone 12 Pro Max has a 5.72” screen for 16:9 content giving you 22% more screen area for 16:9 videos.

The problem that we have here is both are marketed as 6.7” display smartphones.

Right gotcha.
It’s a Max “sized” phone though. As in it’s taller than a 12 Pro Max. Which is what I was getting it.
If you’re talking about aspect ratio you could argue the opposite in that the iPhone will be crap for 21:9 but the Flip would be better.
Just a strange argument IMO.

Haha no the 12 Pro Max would still have 3.45% more screen area for 21:9 content. It’s taller than the 12 Pro Max and therefore much less useful (think skinny TV remote screen.)

For example, the Fold3’s 6.2” cover screen sounds big until you try to watch a 16:9 video on it and now you’re left with a 4.32” screen which is tiny! That’s the beautiful part of unfolding it and getting an iPad Mini’s screen.

Diagonal screen measurement is one of the most misleading specs an OEM can list.

This is the opposite of a strange comparison because if the device is going to be twice as thick in my pocket I want to know how useful the screen will be for me and others should be aware as well.

I still think it’s an awesome phone though and understand if there are those who want to buy it and don’t care about the tall aspect ratio.

Yep if you spend a 100% of your time watching 16:9 video then you may as well get any slab phone :D

The FOLD is all about the extra real estate for all the other things we do :)

IMO they’re hoping to catch the older non social media market that really wants we small ff over anything else. The flip IMO isn’t even for videos not need for a unlimited plan in the flip3. It’s for those on the go who just want to set it and forget it.

Honestly that’s me who hates movies and so forth on a small phone screen.

I need to research iPhones and data plans by size I’m guessing max users tend to be more data oriented.

I’ve had a text to say my Samsung order will be delivered tomorrow… which is a bit odd as the only thing ive ordered is a Z Flip 3. It’s coming via DPD.
I know sometimes phones arrive early, but I’ve never known them arrive a week early.

I did do a trade in though, so perhaps it’s the gubbins for trade in like a prepaid box etc.
