Dropped my fold 4 I was opening the display on wood flooring and to my relief no scratches or anything. Was that much of a drop the back cover came off. Luckily I had the Samsung official cover on. I need to be more careful barely had this a week
Fold is quite durable this time around… I had dropped mine about a month ago on concrete, but it was a really short fall.

I have no case on mine, but I left with a very minor scratch on the top and bottom. There was no damage to the screen.. so, I was relieved about that.

Well, I just updated to OneUI 5.0. And the text box bug is back... for instance, when using the browser and replying to a user on this site... the cursor jumps unexpectedly!

I'm using Tapatalk at the moment.

Does anyone think this is even remotely possible?

I think so, if I disable all push notifications and didn't let anything run in the background (i.e. Gmail, Outlook, Teams, Life360, etc). Maybe limit screen brightness to 30% max indoors, only WiFi. I believe it is possible but will require a lot of restrictions.

Not a fan of those bezels on the inner display, I prefer a camera cut out instead. But then again, Pixels inner camera will be a huge improvement over Samsung Fold.

I have a feeling there's going to be a split between users who prefer Under Camera Display of Samsung or added bezel approach of Google (because users get a better camera).

I like that the front screen is wider than the ZF4. I'm ok with top and bottom bezels even if it is not as attractive. The UDC just isn't great if you do a lot of Zoom or MS Teams meetings, which I use my ZF4 for quite a bit. We will have to see when the final product comes out. Curious how the crease will look. Also, if there is no water resistance I will probably pass. Havent seen any info about that.

I really miss having a macro mode. The flash is also pretty lousy when taking close-ups. My iPad Mini 6 takes much, much better photos in most indoor scenarios.

Stock Android might give the Pixel Fold the advantage.

Umm.. if the rumors are that its similar to the Oppo Find N design, I doubt there would be much water resistance.

True, if stock Android is the preferred choice for a user. Personally, I like the design of Stock Android, but features like Sound Assistant and additional multitasking option (Pop-Out Window)… is why I prefer OneUI over Stock Android.

Pixel experience is very good but I just can’t see it being great for a foldable experience. Only Samsung has seemed to have nailed this for a foldable

I enjoy my Samsung Fold… but if I could get a joint effort between Google and Samsung with a foldable, I’ll sign up in a heart beat.

Granted, Google teamed up with Samsung to make the Galaxy Watch… but the results wasn’t what I expected because I favor the aesthetics of the Pixel Watch. From a design perspective… the Pixel experience just looks solid better. My desire would be to have the Pixel experience… but Samsung adds Good Lock to add a bit a flavor to it (that way its up to the user to install).

True, right now it appears that way. However, you could say the same about Samsung before they introducted the Fold. No way would I have thought the Galaxy S10 UI would have made for a great foldable experience. Google has been able to observe what Samsung and others have done and I'm sure they've got some additions to take advantage of the foldable form factor.

Yea, that's why I brought it up. That would be a no go for me unless I decide that I'm going to continue to carry two phones, which in that case would likely be the Pixel Fold and whatever Galaxy S device is out at the time. I'm just excited to see another player in the game to help push the evolution of the foldable devices.

I don't have a problem with the waterproofing for my personal usage, but obviously it'd be nice to definitely have it and a step back from Samsung I just don't feel too good about a first gen foldable from Google.. but it's nice to have more competition in the field... The most important thing or the most interesting thing is to see what they do to make software wise for multitasking and daily usage ... Samsung has a solid list of options currently ...hated the under screen inside camera that ain't it IMO ...hope that improves on future phones for Samsung...

Just got the Android 13 update today and, yup, Samsung browser inserts extra carriage returns when trying to reply to posts. It also forces you to type within the quoted text area. Same behavior with mobile or desktop versions. I may have to go back to Chrome temporarily until this gets fixed. No issues in Chrome.

Umm.. I don’t know about using Chrome. Do they have the option to remove ads? Last time I checked… the only option they have available is “allow acceptable ads.”

More than likely, I’ll hold out until the issue gets resolve… hopefully its sooner rather than later.

Agreed. Refreshing, and ironic, that we have a civil discussion about an Android device within an Apple forum.

I simply choose the tool that best meets my needs, irrespective of brand or platform. Sometimes it's an Apple, sometimes it's not.

Some of us own and carry both so no need to "slam" one over the other 🤷‍♂️
I agree. That’s why I always taken the approach that they are both different and its up to the user to decide what they prefer.

It’s not about which one is better… it’s more so about preference. As of now, I gravitate toward an Android phone… but I believe the iPhone is still a great device.

I love how this forum (at least this section :p ) isn't full of crazy fanboys of either side. I posted my dilemma of 14PM vs Fold4 for my main phone on the Galaxy Fold subreddit and the fans on there are a little bit out there sometimes.
Reddit : where people downvote others to hell for a simple opinion

Hello there I'm currently using S22 ultra and I was wondering if it's worth to switch to fold 4. I did have fold 2 before and loved it but I switched to the S22 ultra because of the screen protector on fold. Had to replace it twice. I do reside in Brazil. Pretty humid here. Maybe that was the reason. Does anyone here have both S22 ultra and fold 4? Did anyone use fold 4 for more than 6 months? I wanted to know how the screen protector is handling itself. Especially for those in the humid and hot climate. Any opinions on whether it's worth too change to 2 months old fold 4 and I only have to pay extra $400. Would appreciate any feedback from users here.
