I thought about getting the full Hue sync setup where it responds to what’s on the screen… but I opted for Govee RGBIC Pro light strips instead.
I have nothing but issues with my Hue light strips not because they do not work but if you have a shiny/reflective surface behind TV or floor tiles for skirting lighting even with diffusers etc it looks crap and you see every led dot

I really like the Hue, but I would go With a different option if I had to do it again.

The Govee is a tenth of the price I paid for the full setup.

I have the Govee version of Hue Sync (2 bars + the camera sensor thingy)

I waited a couple of weeks before installing the camera because I'm lazy
As long as the camera is not installed, it won't work via Wifi (so no connection to smart assistants), only via Bluetooth

I ultimately diabled the sync feature because I found the constant changing of colors distracting

There's settings in the Govee app where I can have the colors change in some manner... but I agree, it can become distracting. I tend to just keep it at set colors.

But this Govee version of Hue Sync doesn't work with WiFi? That's unfortunate. I made sure whatever light strip I bought were WiFi compatible to use for Google Assistant and Apple (use mine for shortcuts).

It works with Wifi

I bought the Govee bars immersion kit (2 bars+cmera for syncing)

The bars on their own don't work with wifi, but if you connect the camera it does.

I think they also sell another model of bars that work directly with wifi, no immersion kit

The camera model is no where near as good as the model with HDMI.

It needs to read the signal before it is on screen for the effect to be convincing.

@sunking101, I committed to the Sansung Internet browser and am starting to see my best battery life, especially after disabling AOD and "keep screen on if eyes detected". Extrapolating from 25% battery left, I'm on pace for close to 10 hours screen-on time!

Heck, I’m so committed to Samsung Internet Browser that I went toward the beta! Lol Tbh, I need to submit a feature request… when using the URL for search inquiries it doesn’t have check mark or some glyph/symbol that we can use as an autocomplete.

I like that it provides search suggestions but I rather have some way where I can select a particular word or sentence then use that as a way to add more to it. And I’ve disabled AOD years ago, but that keep screen on while viewing is hit or miss because it doesn’t work reliably.

I gotta admit… Pixel Fold is nice looking. My only reservation will be what features will Google incorporate that will make it better than OneUI.
I'm kinda worried reading "it's ***** heavy". Also, the renders make it appear as if there's a sizable gap at the top where dirt and dust can get beneath the display, or maybe it's just a bad angle. Pixel Fold looks sleek though, aside from the massive camera bump. Wonder if it has any stylus support. Waiting to hear more about internals and battery life.

Weight? Not too concern. Being a Fold user for awhile now, I'm accustomed to the weight.

Doubt it will have stylus support since Google did a presentation on the Pixel Tablet and that didn't have any stylus support. I'm just happy to see competition in this space specifically in the US.

@Ludatyk got the itch for the fold again. It's a nice experience having a phone to put in your pocket then use as a normal tablet. That said due to the price that's what has put me off and why I will stick to normal phones to be honest.

I would say samsung aren't far away though. Just need to make it more durable, remove the crease and get top tier cameras on these folds. I know it's tough to do due to the price but i think for people who don't get trade ins it's hard to justify.

I have said I would likely wait for an apple foldable but i think if they do make one it will be an ipad version. I Actually think AR/VR will be apple's focus instead of foldables.

If those renders of the pixel fold are correct, I will probably end up getting it next year.

Solves my main complaint about the fold, with the much wider outer screen.

Yeah, rumors were Pixel Fold would adopt Oppo Find N design…. So yeah, you’ll get a much wider outer screen.

Google is planning a different approach when it comes to unfolding… you’ll open their version in landscape mode compared to portrait.

i can't see it being close to one UI from a feature standpoint. Z fold remains the go to tablet for software on android i would say.
Yeah, it’s the total package that keeps on Galaxy devices. Users don’t mention DeX support enough… but its a solid advantage to have over the competition (I know Motorola has their version). And then there‘s stylus support, not to mention all the goodies Good Lock opens up for Android.

I enjoy the narrow screen of my Fold4 but didn't realize how narrow it actually is. I picked up my wife's iPhone 13 Mini the other day and its screen looked and felt oddly very wide, lol. The Mini! The aspect ratio threw me off and felt like I was holding a 4:3 phone.

Yep DeX just got me out of an issue tonight as I am in Rome at the moment and was having trouble streaming to an Airbnb cheapo TV

DeX now plays video full screen so was fine on my 15" laptop

Sweet! I kind of wish Samsung would advertise it much more and Galaxy users take advantage of it as well... that would result in more exposure to the platform.

I use UPerfect Y Monitor specifically for DeX... I tried using DeX on Windows, but realized it wasn't smooth compared to plugging it via a monitor.

I really, really don't understand the point of Dex? What can I do with it that I can't do without it?

Umm.. well, the point of DeX is that you can plug in your phone to a monitor and that transforms to a desktop style computing.

Its akin to having an iPhone plugged in via monitor and being presented with Stage Manager, the idea behind it is the user has more screen real estate to complete a certain task.

It is not a must have feature but it was cool to be able to dock my Note 8 and use it with an external monitor and wireless keyboard and mouse. It turns your Samsung smartphone into a sort of ChromeOS desktop. It is certainly easier to type out emails, use multiple app windows, and do some productivity work with DeX if you're gonna be at a desk. When I worked in an office I alternated between my work setup and DeX setup. However, I haven't utilized DeX in years now that screens are so big and more stuff is cloud-based or cross-platform and I can access everything I need whether on Android/iOS, MacOS, or Windows. DeX could've been marketed better but admittedly isn't a killer feature, just very cool and appealing to techies/nerds like myself.

And @Ludatyk , I played around with Stage Manager and promptly disabled it, lol. Such an inefficient use of screen space.

I use dexevery weekend to pirate football games.

I also have a USB C hub plugged into my desk at work, that allows me to use the monitor to display my phone, since my work computer is heavily locked down.

It really is awesome, and could replace a computer for many casual users.

Lol, completely understand not everyone is going to like it. Similar to how people gravitate toward Android over iOS or vice versa.

My perspective is this… I prefer to have the feature than be without it. Because as iPad users… there’s never been the ability to have 4 overlapping active windows on screen. And its much better on an external display compared to on the iPad itself.
