Am I doing something wrong? I just checked and can't get it down to $900. Interesting that the 256GB is more expensive than both the 512 and 1TB options.

View attachment 2102112
Umm... not implying you are wrong, but could I see a screenshot. On my end, that $900 price tag includes a TRADE IN. Might have been a glitch though, because that's ridiculously wild.

Yeah, I'm not seeing it myself. Tbf though, I'm not interested in buying another... just curious as to how that price is possible.

Its expired now, seems like it was a flash sale. Now I am seeing the same as you. But previously, the trade in values were up to $1000 off and with no trade-in I was getting it at $900 dollars due to an immediate $300 off and then some $600 off due to Education discount (which had to be a glitch because its typically only 10%).

No worries. Good luck to those who were fortunate enough to take advantage of the glitch.

Sometimes I wish Samsung will stop sending me notifications of Fold4 deals since I already have one... I literally bought it directly from them.

So I actually got it working again. I had to log out of my account and then it works and the cost before tax with no trade is $911. But as soon as I sign into my Samsung account it jumps to $1100. I wonder if it would stay the low amount if I set up a new Samsung account.

I seen Sakitech of YT posted having the potential of getting it for $620! So, yeah... I'm not surprised about it being $911.

My only issue with all these crazy deals is that they are all over the place... AT&T has a deal where you can trade in practically any phone whether it's working or not for $1k. The Fold 4 is such an awesome device... I enjoy the heck out of it.

But I wish Samsung takes a page out of Apple's book... flagship iPhone is considered a premium product and Apple does well controlling that narrative. I recall listening to The Talk Show with Gruber some years back and he mention how Apple tries not to offer discounts or price it lower in an effort to create a sense of luxurious appeal.

Because if I'm not mistaken, if anyone were to go into those luxury type brand stores (Vuitton, Gucci, etc) there's no discounts being advertised.

I’ve talked about this here before. Apple devices hold their value because Apple refuses to discount and therefore that props up the 2nd hand market.

Possibly on iPhone only.

As we all see on MR the number of ad's to buy Apple products from Amazon etc with massive discounts including latest devices that drive prices down

Additional its very country specific and generally US has a much healthier 2nd hand market than many countries

This is coupled with US teleco's trade-in that are generally good/high but require lock-in contracts

Samsung trade-ins are for most good/high and avoid all the catches of using craig lists/ebay etc etc and lock-in contracts or Apple own trade in that are largely poor

This also totally ignore the fact of true cost of ownership, given most fit cases, screen protectors and extended warranties. For many these come bundled or voucher with Samsung, including great discounts on other Samsung products eg watches.

Generally when you factor all things any perceived less depreciation of iPhone sticker price is totally negated by true ownership costs etc that are higher with iPhones

New accessory for the Fold 4?

52c9ef9eed32d2198e64af511deb8c1f.jpg

Upon opening up the Mini 3 Pro… realized the current phone holder doesn’t fit the Fold when unfolded. I was highly disappointed that I had to go out and buy a tablet holder in order for it to fit.

I could of went for the controller with the built-in screen… but wanted to use the Fold screen instead.

Glad i waited, picked up an unlocked open box zf4 512gb for 1020.00 before tax. Pretty sweet device, there are areas that need refinement. But the overall package is legit.
Sweet deal! I’m curious what areas you need refinements?

My upgrade cycle is not even set on the Fold 5, I’m looking at the Fold 6 to upgrade because in this phone market that we are in annual upgrades are minor improvement. But for the Fold 5 I can see the same design with a focus on eliminating the crease.

I’m hoping the Fold 6 introduces silo for the S-Pen.

I love my Fold 4. It's really a nice upgrade from my Fold 3 which I didn't think I would upgrade. My hope for the fold 5 is that they make the outer screen s pen compatible.

In regards to refinement.

The obvious stuff:
- screen crease,
- front screen width
- cameras (this is up for debate
but I think they could be better)

You might end up being disappointed. Because I highly doubt they make any changes to the front screen width… Fold 2 and 3 were practically the same, I’m thinking the same will apply to the Fold 4 and 5. In regards to cameras… Fold 1 through 3 all shared the same camera technology…. I’m expecting Fold 5 will be similar to the Fold 4.

I think the only visual aspect we see for the Fold 5 in comparison to the Fold 4 could be a reduce in bulkiness.

The crease has actually been something I notice the least, or am least bothered by it.

In future Fold iterations I'd much rather have front screen S Pen support because the narrow display is where stylus precision comes in handier than the large area of the inner screen. I would also rather have built-in S Pen silo than no crease.

Oh, and warning to others, DO NOT use the Spigen Air Skin case. I was in a rush to leave the house tonight and the Fold 4 slipped out of my grasp at knee height. It hit the tile floor and the case transferred the impact energy directly to the phone and cracked the glass back. The case however is completely undamaged! The exact opposite of what a case is supposed to do. I found the whole incident upsetting and laughable at the same time. I should've went with the Spigen Ultra Hybrid with soft cushioned edges. Now I'm really looking forward to the Fold 5, lol.

(I removed the case and confirmed crack is on the phone. Stupid case is completely unharmed.)

Umm.. maybe I need better vision lol. But where exactly is the crack on the phone?

I recently dropped mine… there’s some damages to the sides, but they are minor. I was talking with my lady and I made the rookie mistake of getting out the car with the phone in my lap… dropped on concrete. It’s no biggie though… if I had any damages to the screen then that’s when I’ll settle it with Samsung Care.

Don't know if you're just trying to make me feel better by implying it's hard to see. :)

I know it's small but right now I perceive it as the whole phone shattered, lol. Only 5 weeks in. Worthless $30 case. Sigh. Clearly I'll get over it in a few days but still sucks as I really love the Fold 4 and thought I took good care of it. I haven't damaged a phone in over a decade (because the cases did their job)!

I'm sorry you dropped your phone and it broke, truly I am. I too would be gutted if it was mine.

However, it's a little unfair to blame the case, none of these thin fit or skin like cases are designed with drop protection in mind, they will protect from minor bumps and provide scratch protection but that's it.

Fair point and I take no offense, but I unfortunately dropped the Fold 4 a few times before with the thin case and no damage. What baffles me is how the phone was damaged this time but the case itself was completely spared, lol. If the case took some damage and the phone still cracked then I can accept that, but it's as if the case went MIA right at impact and let the phone take the hit.

Thanks some good advice for any phone. I never thought about that with hard cases. Thanks for pointing that out.

Been really enjoying my fold 4.

Battery life is surprisingly fantastic, although I haven't really been using it all day like usual.

I tried a coupe different cases, and I think I have settled on the Samsung silicone grip case as mygo to.

My main issue with the fold, is it being hard to hold. Having the reliable strap to grip is awesome

Bought both the white, and the black.

I know this is unrelated, but is that a lightstrip behind the television?

I might end up getting a skin eventually… then use some sort of mechanism (strap holder or pop socket) that I can grip the phone.

I’ve seen model numbers with U1, but anyone know what this model number means? I have a buddy looking to buy one local and told me this was the model number?

SM-F936B/DS

Update- I think it’s a dual sim model, so guessing it was imported.

I have a full Hue sync setup on my TV.

It reads the picture information from the HDMI signal, and matches the colors, and brightness of what is playing on the screen.

Very expensive novelty, but it really makes certain content more immersive when the whole room is changing colors in conjunction with what is on the TV.

Unfortunately the double sided tape they include with their $100 light strips is trash, and the bottom light peeled off recently. I need to put some gorilla tape on there.

I thought about getting the full Hue sync setup where it responds to what’s on the screen… but I opted for Govee RGBIC Pro light strips instead.

Yep, same model number as my Malay one which is physical dual sim and multiple e-sims, but only any 2 combination active at one time
