After trying a few this is definitely the case for me. I hate the plasticcy ones and those without a front screen flap. This has a much more premium look to match the device.

Thanks just ordered one with £8 promo saving takes about 3 weeks to get to Thailand

Just posted what I think is a pretty good deal on a 512GB unlocked Fold 4, case, and $300 in Samsung store credits. Go get it!
Was about to ask why the change of heart… but checked your post.

Android is honestly awesome as is the Fold but my whole family (20+ deep) is with Apple and I'm trapped in the ecosystem.
Yeah, I am aware… can be tough leaving the Apple ecosystem. But at least you tried.

Honestly it’s mostly my 6 year old daughter was causing my heartache lol. She learned how to text this year on her iPad (I set up an iCloud account for her linked to our family) and I just don’t want to miss out. The ecosystem is tough to get away from for sure.

Cracked, and ordered a fold 4.

S21 ultra goes to my GF, and her pixel 6 gets traded in.

Very hard to choose a case for this thing
Um.. when you mention cracked I thought you were referring to some phone was damaged lol

As of now... Samsung offering amazing deals specifically for that 1TB variant, I don't necessarily need the 512gb model. But it was a no brainer at the time since the 256gb was the same price of the 512gb... now, all three variants share roughly the same price.

I think Samsung is offering this deal because of the launch with the latest Pixels.

Aww man. I have the 512GB. Would be nice to get an additional 512GB for virtually the same price. Sigh. Oh well, perhaps I'll be more patient when the Fold 5 or 6 come out. Loving the 4 so far. Wish the camera(s) was better at metering the ambient light level but overall it is above average. I think my Note 8 took better photos.

My Fold 4 screen just went dead this morning. Plugged it in and just heard a click. The back plate is slightly popped off and it seems the battery is already bulging.

Is there a particular best place on the screen to swipe back? I find myself doing it inadvertently whilst scrolling through the gallery etc and yet inconsistently when I actually want to do it.

Edited to add:
It seems to be a thing.

Yet my Tab S7 which I haven't updated from Android 10 performs the gestures flawlessly.🤨

My old Note 10 Plus which I left on Android 9 had the gestures where you swiped up from the bottom of the screen (left or right depending on your settings) to go back and it performed perfectly. There's just something about the front screen of the Z Fold 4 and gesturing to go back which isn't consistent enough.
The latest update seems to have cured this problem.

I ended up ordering mine through Google Fi.

$1000 off with 4 months of fi service, and then cancel the line.

So $1800 for phone + $80 for 4 months of service

-$1000 promo

-$300 pixel 6 I got for free

=$380 out of pocket, give or take

What I find annoying about the small OneUI 5.0 event that Samsung held yesterday is the fact they didn't discuss much about the Fold series... only mention of it was the Taskbar feature.

OneUI 5.0 is on the verge of officially releasing, but its barely about to hit beta rounds on the Fold.

What case are you guys running?

Think I am going to go with the S pen kickstand, but I am worrying it will make it too bulky

I returned the S Pen kickstand case due to its thickness. I went through six different cases and finally decided on clear Spigen air skin case. Let's me enjoy the beige color and offers acceptable protection while barely being an ounce heavier overall than an iPhone 12 Pro Max with case.

I decided to forego the S Pen and put a thin magnet on the back so I can continue to use Magsafe car mount and kickstands while keeping bulk and weight to a minimum.

Went to T-Mobile to check out the Pixel 7 Pro but spent most of the time playing with the Fold 4. Love the hardware and changes to the front screen this time around. Only issue is the software still seems a little “off”. Just not fully polished and optimized for enough apps yet, but I’ll definitely be jumping back on the Fold soon. Maybe for the 5.

I was a little disappointed by the camera quality of the Fold 4 during the first week, but still love the phone.

I don't know if it's due to some recent OS or app updates but I've been impressed by the 200 photos taken in the last few days. We had a group of friends over to celebrate Halloween early and the indoor/ outdoor shots all looked sharp with great color. I especially appreciate how quick the camera app loads and is ready to immediately snap a photo or record. My previous iPhone 12 Pro Max and 13 Pro both exhibited a slight delay when loading the camera app.

Would like to see  rendition of what Samsung calls ‘Fold 4’ and I think eventually we will as there is no other way to go except perhaps a roll up screen which is years away

Thank you!

I'm back Fold4! I just ordered through Google Fi as well. I saw the article on Slickdeals on how the process works.

Does anyone else see this bug? When I go to check my SOT and then go back 10 mins later it shows exactly the same time.

I don't characterize it as a bug so much as an interval to poll. The SOT seems to update right after 10 minutes have elapsed. Notice no update after 9 minutes in the second screenshot, but by the 10-minute mark (third screenshot) SOT had updated. It is possible you saw 10 minutes pass on the clock but was really 9min 50sec on the phone and hadn't refreshed SOT yet.

I continued to monitor at the 20-minute and 30-minute marks and SOT is accurate. It just doesn't update in real-time nor every minute, but rather on a 10-minute timer. Close enough.

Has it always been thus? I'm sure that my old Samsungs did it differently and updated the SOT in a more timely fashion. Also when scrolling through the list of apps (Settings/Apps) it's annoying to adjust something only to go back to the list and be taken right to the top again.

I don't know if it's always been that way.

I agree it's irritating having to start from the top of the App page. It seems inconsistent to do it that way since the Settings page remembers my last position, yet the App page (within Settings) always starts from top.

But ya know, if these minor quibbles are our biggest pain points then that's a testament to how good the Fold 4 is overall. I love the device and my cousin is thinking of getting one too after hearing me gush about it so much. Cousin will be trading in a Note 8, so I think the best deal is straight from Samsung site.

I hate this board lol. I just ordered (and received) a Pixel 7 Pro and now I’m about to box it up and return after reading this post about this deal and finding out you can port in a Google Voice number. I can shelve this SIM and still use my dirt cheap family plan line for the Fold and just let the FI SIM sit on a shelf running out the clock.

About to head to bed and finished the day with 8 hours of SOT. It was what I consider a busy/demanding day including 40 minutes on a Team's meeting in outdoor daylight with the full screen open, lots of email, messaging, calls throughout the day, and catching up on YouTube reviews/comparisons with the Pixel 7. No gaming at all in my daily life but I have up to three apps open sometimes. Majority of the time was with just the front cover display. AOD active, 120Hz enabled, standard performance. I love the Fold 4!
