It annoying as f.. how Samsung discriminate the users in Europe. The deals the US users get is incredible. But they won't offer it here. Not okay those huge differences they've created with this.
It’s easy to see why

Samsung need to offer massive trade in deals to get the US market interested. US market is a iphone market if they offered bad trade ins their sales would be awful

I don't mind the deals they are offering in the U.S. More companies should do that, but giving the users Europe peanuts in comparison to that, is just a big insult in the face to the people who've given your products the backing.

Peanuts? Exaggeration... maybe? I didn't think the gap was that sizable.

So, I'm guessing you had a change of heart... looking into getting a foldable from Samsung?

You really have no clue aren't you? In The Netherlands for example the trade in value of a Fold 2 is max €250,- while in the U.S. You get $1000,- for that.

You also will not get an almost free Galaxy Watch 5 as a trade-in present. And the Fold 4 with 512 Gbit storage, will cost you a minimum of €1400,- which is almost double of what Samsung is asking in the U.S.

The total amount of money you've to pay more in Europe is atleast $1100. Which is significant. Also you're assumption is again wrong. I'm not going to get the Fold 4, because I don't like the front screen, and the upgrade in dimensions is minor for my liking. Already made that clear before you could even pre-order. But you don't need to have an order in place to give your thoughts about it.

I don't have a clue... that's why I was asking. And yeah, that's tough.

Yeah, that's insane. I guess the silver lining to it all... at least in the Netherlands they are getting it much earlier than the US.

Never said you were wrong... just wanted clarification on the matter.

Same goes for Canada as well..
I'm in Canada, and the deals may not be as good as the US, but still amazing deals. No other manufacturer would give such deals. Not even close. I bought 2 Flip4. First one was a bespoke edition, second was a stock purple edition. I posted the price I got on each one. My purchases include trade-ins.

Just a quick tip for everyone, when Samsung has an upcoming unpacked event, register on their website for notifications. No purchase necessary. Then on the day of the event, check your emails for promo codes. I would say wait a couple of days after the event, maybe even a week after. By then, most of the promo codes would be emailed. That's how I got the free Buds2 Pro on my second order. I also had another promo code for $100 off any purchase over $150. I was able to combine that with the free Buds2 Pro promo code. I didn't bother to check my email, before my first purchase, so my fault. That being said, register a couple of emails, in case you may make multiple purchases. Promo codes are onetime use only.

I’m still on the fence. Biggest complaints were camera and battery. The camera upgrades are probably good enough to be honest but even though the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor is probably more power efficient I doubt it will significantly increase battery life. Always hard for me to turn down the new shiny things but my ZF3 is still nice to use on my work line and I have great cameras in the 13PM, S22U, and P6P which I’m still rotating on my personal line. This *might* just be the year that I not only don’t buy multiple phones but I may not buy even one phone. The last round of flagships were really, really solid.
I'm so weak 😞 🤷🏻‍♂️

I pretty much rationalized it by convincing myself that I'm skipping the iphone 14 Pro Max. We will see how that turns out 😆
Umm.. I highly doubt you’ll be able to resist Apple’s marketing… they are the best in the business! Gone is the notch and introducing the phenomenal AOD, it’s gonna be monumental according to Apple.

Its not just US that they favour the far east also fares better and Malaysia in particular I do very well :)

My best one was on my F2 not only great bundles and trade ins I also won a 55" TV LOL

Service and support is great in Malaysia with concierge pick-up service and most Malls have a Samsung store

The only thing that sucks is Samsung online store does zip on accessories and local stores soon run out and never re-stock

I did take advantage of some UK deals last Autumn when I traded in some of my old Malaysian devices as they were worth almost what I paid for them, against a Samsung laptop not available in Malaysia

Lol you might be right but the 13 Pm pretty nailed everything for me. I dont care about AOD and the notch doesn't bother me now that battery percentage is back in the status bar with iOS 16. I can see myself rolling with it for another year. Honestly if I didn't coach football and the other coaches insisting on sending videos etc thru iMessage I'd probably not be using an iphone at all.

Oh, don’t miss Apple’s marketing with 14 PM camera. You’ll have unbelievable videos to show off football footage and it will put your 13 PM to shame lol

I had a look at the trade in deals for the Flip 4.
They're not great. The best deal for me would be to buy through my works 'perk' system, which offers discounts for loads of companies. Samsung is one of them.

The Flip 4 is £150 off (£849) through the perks site and my cracked screen (but working) regular Pixel 6 will get me £250 off as trade in, which is more than I'd get eBaying it in that state.

So £600. Unfortunately, I don't want the phone enough to warrant the outlay as I like my Xperia IV too much and prefer having a zoom camera that the Flip just doesn't offer. I also feel like these devices are practically the same phone as last year in the same clothes. So unless coming from an OG Flip it just isn't worth it.

Does anyone know if these trade-in deals work in store?

My Amex card will give me £250 off on a large purchase but only in a Samsung store.

If I can get this additional £250 from Amex on top of the trade value then I might buy it.

Trade-ins work in store.

Just been to one. Preordered the 512gb Fold 4 for £1769 - £500 = £1269 through trading in a 1990s very old LG phone that my daughter was using as a toy (£250 discount) and £250 cashback from Amex Platinum.

Bought the Watch 5 Pro as well for £265 (15% discount + £100 trade in of very old Sony Smart Band found in the drawer).

I still get to keep my Note 10 Plus.

Also get the usual free buds live, free S pen and Case, £100 google voucher, and 12m disney plus to be claimed at Samsung after collection of the phone.

That’s wild! Why doesn’t Apple do the same?

Interesting. Didn’t know trade-ins work in store.. figured Samsung was doing it through a different company.

Apple does trade-ins… but they are not as generous as Samsung.

It's not just trade-ins it's the free screen protectors, cases, extended warranty that considerably reduce the true cost of ownership :)

Call me crazy but I couldn't do it instead I pulled the trigger on the Z Flip 4 ..that will compliment my Pixel 6 Pro phone swapping...

I'm trading my flip 3 for the fold 4 and don't think you're crazy at all. It's a really unique and fun phone. I think you'll like it and it'll fit nicely in your rotation.

Nice thinking you going to enjoy that Fold 4 I will be back on big Fold next time around ...Samsung and these US deals trade INS leave us needing to call 800 Phone Addict ..LOL

I figure I can always flip no pun intended it down the road for another phone
