any tips on saving battery
Like what to turn off?
I have GPS accuracy turned to phone only and Gmail is set to NOT sync. If I am waiting for an email, I can just open the email app and refresh by pulling down from the top. Those two things have noticeably cut down on battery usage and I've been using these settings since the Note 4.

I've always liked this feature. I don't believe this is the first time Samsung introduced this idea, but it feels like it's taken way more notice since the Note 8.

Productivity overwhelming - App Pairs are among the Galaxy Note 8's best hidden features

It's little extra features like these that make me appreciate Samsung's software.

Does stock Android Oreo have this feature already?

App Pairs is pretty cool and I use it with Google Maps and different streaming music services.

Its so simple to bring up 2 apps, I'm not sure I'd save any App Pairs, but it is a cool feature.

I don't believe stock Android has App Pairs. It does have Multiwindow that was introduced years later after Samsung did it, lol.

I feel like Samsung has influenced Stock Android a lot in features it brings.

Samsung was among the 1st OEMs to even introduce Power Saving modes etc...

I use SwiftKey. Other people have suggested Gboard. Try a few and see. You can actively switch between multiple at the same time.
Thank you
Have downloaded swiftkey

How do you set your gmail to not sync?

I know this may sound like a stupid question but on the note 8 how do you fully close apps so they don't run in the background?

I'm just getting to grips with this phone....

Go to device maintenence, click the memory button and it shows you all of your running apps. You can either choose to let the system free space automatically or kill the apps individually.

Just used my note 8 to sign a job acceptance form with Adobe sign and fill. Omg I love this thing. Try signing anything with your finger, you minus well try to finger paint the Mona Lisa.
Did the same recently, it is awesome :D

I have been singing a whole lot of documentation with it, instead of printing and signing I just sign on the phone and done.

Has anyone found it hard to get to grips with the phone?
I'm thinking of perhaps returning it for the iPhone 8 plus

On my Pixel it’s in: Settings > Account > Google >

Disable any undesired sync items in there.
I don't see the option to turn off auto sync?

What issues are you having?
Just finding it a lil confusing
Like the auto sync thing

I don't like the whatsapp notifications...like on the iPhone when you receive a message when the phone is off you get a list of pop ups on the screen when you use the phone again. With the note 8 the whatsapp pop ups are weird....like it's this massive square lol

I know it sounds petty but just not used to it.

It's different. And takes some getting use too. I don't use whatsapp but I did try it once. Textra to me for texting works like the iPhone so I use it mostly.

You're not going to get used to a new platform in a couple of days. It's also important for you to stop trying to use it like an iPhone and instead use it like an android. Most people greatly prefer the notification system on Android. Use it like it was intended and you'll probably like it more.

Yup, I will say though that I'm still not quite used to the size of the S-Pen. It's MUCH easier than trying to sign with your finger, but I'll have to erase a few times as my handwriting isn't as good compared to a full sized pen.
