The phone automatically does it every once in a while. I click the optimize now button every few days. I don't NEED to but I do it anyway.
Thankyou!!

You really know your way round this phone! I'm just getting started hence all the questions lol

You know for gmail on the phone...how do you set it so that it syncs just when you actually go to the app...basically is it set to that already or do you have to change it?

It's setup to automatically sync every 30 minutes. If you don't want that, you open the app, go to settings and click on the email you want to modify. From there it will give you an option to sync if your account is Gmail or if it isn't it will give you an option to control your sync frequency under the data usage header.

Will the Note 8 support Live wallpaper, like the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL? is this feature possible?
thanks

Live wallpapers have been supported on android for years. Any current android phone and many past support live wallpapers.

Agreed with the above. The one area where I would give the Note 8 a better Mark is that I can use the sports mode. When trying to take pictures of your kids that are constantly moving it comes in handy! Much less blurry pictures!

Please explain the "sports mode".

It basically helps take pictures of action shots without coming out blurry. It's not installed out of the box but you can download it thru the camera's settings.

Thanks, I hadn't seen that you could download other camera wizards.

Well I got my Note 8 back today.
It had light bleed on the left edge, technically not light bleed but an annoying refractive distraction.
I suggest all who use cases all the time to take their cases off and look at your phone in a dark room, move your Google bar up and down and if you see it glowing on the edges, get it sorted.
But beware, once you see it you cant unsee it.

At what screen brightness has everyone set their Note8??? I usually set it at around 40% but now put it at 50%,yet I must say though at anything above 50% the brightness is incredibly intense indoors, lol! This display is ludicrously bright, I love it

Around 25% to 35% with auto brightness off. I simply turn auto brightness back on when I go outside.

Is it just me or is the Iris Scanning getting faster???

I just picked up the phone in a meeting, I swiped it did not even bother showing the Iris scanning screen, it just unlocked as it was going to the Iris Scanning screen.

Really cool. :)
