The phone is absolutely perfect for a launch day phone. It looks like it just came out of the box today. When I was looking at it before I left the shop, I discovered that I didn't remove some of the plastic strips protecting the corners and top and bottom edges of the phone when I unboxed it.

There are no signs whatsoever that I had the display replaced. If I were going to sell the phone today, I would see NO point in telling the buyer that I replaced the display. They would never know.

I plan on using this phone another year. It's been absolutely perfect.

I got my Note 8 screen replaced a few weeks ago. Phone came back like a brand new phone. Got it done by Samsung service.

Left for a vacation to Europe, and the first few pics I took look all blurred. Had a look and there is moisture under the camera glass. Pissed as hell.

Edit: not just the first pics. Noticed in the first pics, but all pics show the issue.

Must be the poor quality glue around the screen used or lack of it.

I've taken a bunch of pictures on mine since Monday and all of them seem to be perfect so far.

Wife got her note 8 a couple days ago and loving it. Bit of getting used to with no physical home button and dedicated back button from her note 5 but a major upgrade all around.

Fired up Pubg on it on high settings and runs smooth as butter and looks amazing

So jealous of that screen comparing to my ip8+ lol

Like Jackieinco, I dropped my Note 8 and the glass back is heavily cracked. Screen is ok, but I think the cracking will only get worse,so I am searching for a good repair shop. The phone is a year old and has not been my daily carry, but has been used as a pocketable tablet.

The accident has convinced me to get a Note 9 and I just put in a preorder. I will use this one as a phone some, but it will mainly carry tons of files I use in my business, manuals for technical gear, ebooks, spreadsheets, and notes for writing and lectures. I have learned my lesson and will put this new one in a case right away. Given the storage on this device, it will be my travel computer, replacing an iPad.

Now, I just need to find a small keyboard to use with it. Any one have experience with one they like?

Here's the mini keyboard I use with my Note8 :) very handy and pocketable when travelling, turns my Note8 to into a mini Laptop, especially when I also have my BT headset :D

Amazing where tech has brought us.

Haha! That is a very interesting one WRT the 6. Overall that keyboard looks great though, love the simplicity and cleanliness of its design versus mine. It looks more professional.
Both nice looking keyboards. I'll have to see which one I can find around here to turn my new Note 9 into a more capable mobile device. Thanks for the hints.

Had my Note 8 battery and screen replaced today under warranty. Could not have been easier. Went to a ubreakifix shop near my home and 2 hours later the phone is like new. I had some burn-in and they replaced the battery as well as the bezel free of charge. They also use official Samsung parts. I was really surprised how easy it was. Thought I would share in case anyone else need a repair.

Must say this year's phone announcements have been rather boring including today's. More often you watch an announcement and think to yourself: "well my phone can already do that or my phone already has that" or as it goes with iPhone announcements "still doesn't have this or that, oooookay....."

The Note8 has made it even harder to to upgrade as the only real upgrade is the Note9, at least for me. Still no other device covers everything like a Note.

I'm reviving this thread to give a near 2 year update on my Note 8, and address all the many posts about how this device would become a pile of garbage over time, slow down, get wonky, etc..

Bottom line is the Note 8 continues to be my daily driver and perform great. With the update to One UI and Pie, its like I got a brand new phone. I really like the new UI. From a performance stand point, all the "it will get laggy over time" comments are just wrong. It has never been laggy, and never had performance problems even after several major updates. The monthly security updates have been timely and transparent.

I have no plans of retiring it or upgrading. And every time I see an iPhone X variant with the notch, I'm so glad I don't have to deal with that.

I am also now using an iPhone 8 that was provided by work (job change)... primarily just for work related calls, Outlook, etc.. One thing that I noticed I like better on iOS is the better integration of LastPass into the OS. It works on Android, but not as consistently.

The Note 8 is one of Samsung's best devices ever, especially coming out right after the Note 7 fiasco.

My wife is loving her note 8, her favourite phone she’s ever had. The performance has been smooth and fast, no lagging/hiccups. She’s heavy phone user, between work, social media and pubg, she definitely puts it through its paces. The snapdragon 835/6gb ram combo is still a beastly set up and Samsung’s one ui isn’t slowing it down one at all.

Indeed.

I gave my Note8 to my mother when I moved to the Huawei Mate 20 Pro late last year, and she has thoroughly loved it. She also has a iPhone X but uses the Note8 as her daily driver. The battery life has also stayed very good, and gets her through a day comfortably.
