Nope, mine Fast Charges without an issue, however a colleague of mine was having a similar issue on his S8 and we found that his charger brick was at fault.

Do you have Fast Charge turned on in the Battery Settings? Also try test with someone else's Fast Charger to try isolate the issue further.
I have multiple oem rapid chargers, and Anker quick charge bricks, along with multiple Samsung oem USB c cables. It never indicates fast charging.

It gives a estimate of a 1-1:45 to charge, but misses the mark by a lot. A full charge even left alone takes about 3 hours now.

It was always a bit finiky about allowing fast charge, but now it is impossible. I even factory reset it, but it didn't help.

Super annoying.

Sounds like you have a faulty unit then, rather take it back and show them that it does not Fast Charge the way it is supposed to.

That's what sucks about Samsung. Despite being a huge company they have no local service centers, so it is 2 weeks without my phone, if I send it in.

Lately I've been getting lots of crashes with Chrome in Oreo, the app just freezes and keeps frozen even after quiting it from background and lauching it again, anyone else experience the same?

Since a recent Chrome update? I use the Samsung browser so can't help.

Has anyone looked into message notifications? I see a section for new messages which is obvious but what is general message settings for???

Why not just use the Samsung Internet browser? You can even install Ad Blockers on it. I never use Chrome unless I am on my laptop.

I'm just used to Chrome besides I have my bookmarks and history synced between all my devices.

Must say, despite all the Note9 rumours I am still so damn satisfied with my Note8, it just keeps serving me so well. Much like my Note4 in its time I look at everything else available right now and realise nothing else offers everything I get in this thing, in such a complete package.

If I were to lose my Note8 tomorrow I would either get a brand new one or just get a Note9 as that would be the only thing worthy of replacing it.

A part of me was getting tempted to get a BlackBerry Key² as a 2nd device just to give it a go, but I tend to prefer 1 device to handle my mobile comms. And so could not justify it, especially with that puny display.

Had a chat with an ex-colleague, who is also a big Note fan, she said she is jumping on the Note9 the day it arrives as she is missing her Note4s SPen in her current S7 Edge, I told her that coming back to Note was the best thing I did, nothing compared to it once you get used to that SPen.

I agree that the Note 8 is still a great phone. I've had mine since launch day and there is still ZERO lag on this beast. I'm not sure if I will be buying the Note 9 this year but I did buy a S9+ last week especially because it has the same amount of RAM as the Note 8 so I expect it's performance to be just like the Note 8 after nearly a year.

With the solid performance that the Note 8 has given me this past year, it can easily last one more.

Agree... I've had the same experience with the Note 8. I've not seen any lag issues after a year. I did notice the battery life has diminished a bit, but I don't think its hardware. I have a lot of processes like OneDrive, Google Photos, etc.. that are doing background syncing and I expect that I finally have enough apps on there doing this kind of thing that its impacting my battery life. I'm able to manage with the its great battery saving tools, so not worth taking the time to factory reset it. Before the Apple crowd comes out to say... "see, it degrades"... I had same experience with prior iPhones with similar apps.

Whatever your phone, the battery WILL have degraded somewhat after a year of constant recharging. I begin to notice it after a few months with my phones and at the 12 month mark it is quite apparent.

There's an app that's been updated recently to now show the number of cycles the battery has and the current capacity. That app is Phone INFO and is free.

My Note 8 was bought on launch day and has 115 cycles with a capacity of 98.91%. It's not even degraded enough to show any wear on mine.

Lol, I got my Note8 on launch to but I have not been kind to its battery, tending to charge well before it hits 50%.

I have 313 charge cycles in it with 89.85% health, LOL, accordingly to Phone INFO.

Overall though, the phone in my experience still lasts as long as it did when brand new, may be Phone INFO isn't thoroughly accurate I guess.

Onlt 115 cycles? Wow that's light use. That's a few months of use for me.

I didn't use the phone very much at all up until about two weeks ago.

I made the mistake of buying a OtterBox Defender case for my phone on launch day. The problem with that case it is that it is hugest instead, I used the S8+ or iPhone that I had instead. I didn't get a new case for my Note 8 until two weeks ago and now I've finally started using it as my daily.

Even then, I have three lines on my T-Mobile account so I have three phones, a Note 8, S9+ and an iPhone 8+ so all these phones have light usage.

My iPhone 7+ was bought in November and has 89 cycles on it and my 8+ has 29 cycles which I bought in early April.

All of these phones last me about 2 days on one charge.

Lol, my Note8 is my main device and I absolutely abuse it in terms of usage.

I may need to get the hattery replaced middle of next year, but then my upgrade will be around the corner by then.

Ah well. It's a great device, can't keep my hands off of it.

Erica Griffin still very happy with the Note8, interestingly enough she seems to be happier with its Camera vs. S9 range in certain areas.

That was experience as well....I thought the camera on the N8 was better than the S9+ imho

I expected it to be the other way around since the S9+ is newer. Does this mean that the N9 will likely have a better camera than the Galazy 10 due 6 months later?

I don't blame you. It has the best biggest screen on the market, and it's notch free!

I really hope they find some way to keep the S10 notch free too.

My husband has had his note 8 for 10 months and it hasn’t slowed down at all. It’s still very fast.

Personally I would rather have an infinity display than an notch. I suspect Samsung will do an experiment. Offer phones with notches and those without and let the market decide.

Whatever sells most phones could be their norm for 2020.
