For some reason the mods won't let us delete posts. I replied to a post then saw that about 20 other people had replied with the same thing. :p

And a new color, deep see blue. Leaked by evleaks. It's supposed to be a darker shade of the coral blue. Hope evleaks gets a leak of the back.

That's pretty. I like the color but something about the shape or proportions looks odd to me.

I still miss my Note 7. My first one. The second one ran hot and toward the last couple of days looked like it might join one of the toasty ones. The first one was almost perfect. I would probably not have upgraded to the S8+ if I still had that one and there had been no recall. If they were selling the refurbs in the US I might still have gotten one instead of the S8+. Maybe. The coral blue was so beautiful.

Yesssss, I've always wanted a darker shade of blue from Samsung. Hope it looks good on the back, and makes its way to the S9.

My excitement for the Note series is really about what we can expect with the following S series. ;)

Soon will be able to use a smartphone to measure out a foot in length. :)

You know it wont' be long until we have a 12" screen on a smartphone, wow what an achievement. Unfortunately it will be a 14" x 2" screen which for some strange reason everyone will rave about.

According to Evan:

Note8 pre-orders from Samsung (starting 8/24) come with a 256GB microSD card plus choice of convertible wireless charger or 360 cam.
Release date is 9/15.

iPhone 8 will most likely be released on the same day. iPhone 7 was released on Friday, 7/16.

In the US, the note 8 will only come in Black and Orchid Gray at release.

I can tell you this 100 percent true.

I can tell you this 100 percent true regarding the note 8 incentives.

The updated camera with optical zoom is the only thing that is tempting me to upgrade. I also, don’t care for the proportions of this or the S8. A Note FE may be the route I go if I stick with Android but and Amoled IPhone is also tempting, with a similar camera to boot.

Hard to believe, outside of a two week IP 7 trial, I’ve had this Note 5 (or any phone in this day and age) for 2 whole years now. It’s still a beast but the battery is certainly losing capacity. S pen usage is down to very little but the Note has previously been a step ahead of the S series.

Looking forward to using Samsung Experience v8.5 which is said to be launched with the Note 8.
Some of the improvements in the v8.5 are no dropped frame rates, quicker iris and face recognition.

Anyone going to watch the Samsung Keynote live? I'm not sure I want to because of how cringey it usually is.

I'll probably be dipping in and out of it (keynote). Rumour is that the free gift for pre-orders in Europe is the DeX station.

Also hoping for an aggressive trade in policy, especially for current Samsung and or especially Note users. The Note 7 had a decent trade in promo but just as I was about to take advantage with my Note 5, the stories starting coming out.

I am I the only one excited for this lol

I wouldn't go so far as to say I'm excited but I've always loved the Note series. The two items I'm most hopeful about with this iteration is the supposed cleanup of Samsung Experience to kill lag along with the extra RAM. If Samsung can just clean up bloat, I think they'll have the single most compelling Android offering on the market (unless you're a complete stock nerd. I like stock only in so far as it offers the best performance for Android devices).

Source: https://www.ithome.com/html/android/321857.htm (Chinese)

  • 6GB RAM + 64GB ROM: 6288 yuan -> $941

  • 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM: 7088 yuan -> $1061

  • 6GB RAM + 256GB ROM: 7988 yuan -> $1196
But BGR notes that it doesn't mean the US prices will be those converted rates, giving the example of the iPhone 7 (5388 yuan in China = $806, but it's priced at $649 in the US). So I would guess $850 64GB, $999 128 GB, $1099 256 GB maybe?
I doubt we will see anything more than the 64GB base model in the UK.
