I cracked. Silver blue s25 ultra 512 gb just arrived.

So we need to talk about the lockscreen media player, or indeed lack of.

Has anyone found a way of getting it back in the middle of the lockscreen like it used to be? Not just the now bar?
Might not be the solution you like, but if you click on the album art on the Now Bar, you can expand the player.

I figured that out, but I'm used to having it further up. Google says I'm not the only one lol. Tbh it would be fine if the now bar was higher up.

Inguessni can learn to live with it

Yeah it's for sure a learned behavior now. I'm completely used to it but I can remember being a bit annoyed when I first switched from iPhone.

So this is what jealousy feels like…🥹
I have the same Silver Blue S25 Ultra, but with 256 GB.

I’m using the iPhone 16 Pro Max as a daily driver, but the S25 Ultra is pure magic with the AI. Especially in the browser, it is cool. I can summarize Dutch pages. Apple can’t do that. Apple Intelligence is not even there in the EU. They need to fix that ASAP, because they are falling behind.

Sometimes I have time to play with the S25 Ultra. I customized some settings and now most of the cons against them, are gone. For example, I am using gestures now and that ugly navigation bar is gone. I also missed Continuity and AirDrop. I installed KDE Connect on the Samsung and Soduto on the Mac. It works great as an AirDrop replacal (will try LocalSend, too). And I even can copy and paste texts between them.

And then we have rumors we will lose AirDrop in the EU, and also notifications on the Watch. While prices for the iPhone will rise. Samsung has AI in Dutch. Apple doesn’t in EU. I’m starting to wonder if trying out the S25 Ultra for a while as a daily driver would hurt.

Great to hear of your success with S25u.

I find LocalSend can be flaky at times recognizing my M1 Studio Base Max. KDE Connect and Soduto work more reliably.

This is very true. KDE Connect is great.

With these commands you can copy-paste clipboard without having to click the button in KDE Connect every time.

adb -d shell pm grant org.kde.kdeconnect_tp android.permission.READ_LOGS;
adb -d shell appops set org.kde.kdeconnect_tp SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW allow;
adb -d shell am force-stop org.kde.kdeconnect_tp;

Found out I can’t put Samsung Care on my device, because it wasn’t sold by Samsung Netherlands. So, I decided to return it. But:…

I bought the Silver White S25 Ultra from Samsung with a lot of promotions:

15% discount on the phone because I could get a coupon code from my bank. I bought the coupon for 500 ING Points. I don’t care. I have 48.000 of them at this point. 😂

Got a free 45W Charger, free Clear Case and a free Galaxy Watch 7 40mm. And of course ordered together with the insurance. Very happy, it will arrive on Tuesday.

Why I suddenly cared about the deal: with the promotions and coupon code, it was cheaper in total than what I paid for the phone alone. I really want to have Samsung Care+, because I want to try the S25 Ultra as a daily driver for while. Having the Watch 7 for free, gives me a good impression if it would be something for me and sufficient for my needs. I get to sniff on the Samsung ecosystem, but without having to lose my Mac (yay, KDE Connect and Soduto)!

September is well a few months away, so plenty of time if I’m going to make the switch and keep the iPhone 16 Pro Max as a developer phone. Or if I will miss the iPhone and still upgrade in September. Thing is, with the lack of nice features and the prediction of high costs, I want to see what the S25 Ultra is about. I am very impressed. Wanna see what it would be as a daily driver.

Never thought I would ever write this, but hey, they came a long way.

Oh well Samsung doesn’t even have to bother much or at all to improve its next iteration of UI based on what apple seem to be going to release in iOS 26!

After watching WWDC this year, I think I'm happy I'm on an Android Phone. I do wonder if I need to rethink my TV and speaker line up though. I'm so disappointed with how stagnent TVOS is, but I have the Apple TV and the homepod hooked together. Maybe I need to go into a different direction. Is there anything exciting on the Android side?

I use a Firestick Cube and I am happy with it....

And maybe Apple is a victim of too much hype, but I was thinking it was actually going to be a redesign, but just visual differences. Maybe I didn't read the right recap but I'm not seeing any changes that show the operating system being more intuitive. Certainly not how Good lock completely makes OneUI the most intuitive software out there imo.

i was thinking the same.....I like apps and menus and functionality to be more flat. Not more complex.

Hi S25 User, I am thinking about switching to an Galaxy Phone from my 16 Pro. How does the battery life compare? I roughly get 4 1/2h a screen on time

You'll have no problem getting that. I'm not a huge fan of the battery on my S25 Ultra but I get more than that.

I am seriously considering moving from my iPhone 14 Pro Max to the s25 ultra. Haven’t had an android phone for near 10 years I reckon!
