I am seriously considering moving from my iPhone 14 Pro Max to the s25 ultra. Haven’t had an android phone for near 10 years I reckon!
Give it a try. It’s your decision. RCS will at least make it easier to text iPhone users.

I primarily use my iPhone, but I also have an Android (Pixel Fold) to experiment with Android 16.

And maybe Apple is a victim of too much hype, but I was thinking it was actually going to be a redesign, but just visual differences. Maybe I didn't read the right recap but I'm not seeing any changes that show the operating system being more intuitive. Certainly not how Good lock completely makes OneUI the most intuitive software out there imo.
Every year we hear it's a major overhaul / redesign and every year it’s a disappointment for me personally. My 16 PM still can’t split screen for proper multitasking.

All apple seem to do is release new emojis, ways to make emojis with AI and usually a few wallpapers (themed around the latest fad or current Politically correct topic)

It's just puzzling that their "redesign" is just 1 icon pack and the ability to add a background to iMessage, something I was able to do on GoSMS on Android 15 years ago.

I finally gave up BlueBubbles and iMessage a few days ago and am solely using Google messages now. RCS has been flawless for me 99.9% of my messages.

Yeah there really isn't a need to stay on iMessage anymore unless you just prefer it THAT much over anything else. For me, as long as the messages are received and I can send high quality photos and videos to everyone, then I'm good.

The only issue was the short period after turning iMessage off. Despite being logged out of every iDevice and de-registering a few messages were never received by me. My cousin thought I either didn't want to meet him for coffee or that something happened to me 🤣 .

Just got my hands on a ultra and plus S25. The Plus feels so much more comfortable. Now I need to decide if I can be happy with the camera😬
Antiglare coating on the display, slightly larger battery, 45-watt charging (vs S25 and Plus 25-watt) and telephoto +more zoom capabilities (see below) in addition to awesome preorder trade-in and other discount incentives were enough to get me on the U bandwagon.

S25 and S25 Plus rear cameras: a 50-megapixel main shooter, a 12-megapixel ultrawide camera and a 10-megapixel telephoto with 3x optical zoom.

S25 Ultra has 200-megapixel main camera, a new 50-megapixel ultrawide, and dual telephoto cameras: a 10-megapixel 3x optical zoom along with a 50-megapixel 5x optical zoom.

Here are the options i get when adding a widget to my homescreen for battery...
So there are options for battery widgets.
Thanks! I should have been more specific… the list category for battery widgets. And it appears that Samsung made the glyphs/icons smaller… I’m guessing that’s an improvement? I don’t know.

This what you're looking for? I bit the bullet and updated to One UI 8 B2, so far so good. Home Up not working but I still get my preferred style of app switcher and rows of 7 icons on the home screen.

Thanks! I normally like change... having something new can be refreshing, but the One UI 7 battery list widget doesn't look better (particularly the larger widget).

I think the decision behind it was consistency... having text in the percentage bar, similar to how they did with the new battery status icon. But I rather have it separate like before.

So after trying out iOS 26 beta, I can safely say that the last thing holding me with iPhone - iOS, no longer holds. It completely lost its simplicity and minimalistic approach, it’s a mess.
I would love to give a chance to some Chinese brands like Oppo or Huawei, but in my country I can’t get those.. So the only one left is Xiaomi or Samsung..

Using both side by side, it's amazing how different the betas of iOS 26 and One UI 8 are from each other. I know it's only build 1 of iOS dev beta, but performance is atrocious and looks + feels like 20fps all the time. One UI 8 beta can be used as a daily driver right now and feels complete. It only took until iOS 26 to have the auto brightness toggle where it should be within the main display settings menu, rather than hiding in the accessibility options.

Xiaomi hardware is great. Had the regular 14 and 15 Ultra. Software doesn't come close to One UI. If you know you know.
