So really odd question, but I figured you would all be more helpful than T-Mobile support.

My wife and I constantly have our calls to each other drop, but literally never have our calls drop when they're with anyone else. We both have Samsungs. Just completely confused. Oh yeah it happens with full bars too.
Stop annoying your wife during those calls. 😉

One huge flaw I have found in the S25 Ultra compared to my iPhone 16 Pro is network stability including dropped calls, lost network coverage etc. Otherwise the S25 Ultra is winning in every other aspect for me.

I have done extension testing.

I have the just the opposite experience between my 16PM and S25U on Verizon. I get better network connectivity and faster speeds on the S25U. I carry both phones around with me and do speed tests.
Then dropped calls can be attributed to connectivity and dead zones for carriers.

Same here. Wifey's iPhone is on USMobile Verizon 5g and I'm on their GSM T-Mobile 5g network.

The differences in mobile download throughput (from speed.cloudflare.com) are unreal.

While traveling in a major US metro area last weekend:

me: 550 Mbps down / 38.5 up
her: 98.7 down / 37.8 up in most places (unless we were in close proximity to one of the newer Verizon antennas, then it was faster)

I tested USMobile Verizon service last year for a few weeks and also found average throughput (when out and about all over the place) was a far worse overall experience than with their T-Mobile service.

One of my kids is on pay out the wazoo Verizon plan and gets similarly lackluster download speeds. Also both she and my wife have less robust mobile and wifi signal strength as compared to my S25u.

No issues like this for me with my S25U. I had this exact same issue on my S24+ last year though. Infuriated my wife. It was determined that my USB-C port was defective causing interference with the antenna. Had it fixed and no subsequent issues.

Not saying definitively this is your issue, but it sounds really similar to what I experienced last year. The odd part is if it is a defective port, why does it only affect you and your wife. Does it happen while on wifi calling or just network?

One UI 8 Beta is open. I've never done a beta before with Samsung. Should I avoid if this is my daily driver? And is it hard to roll back?

I see a lot of people downloading the beta on AC forums so I would see how the early reports come in before jumping in but lately the betas have been excellent

I think the big thing for me would be if good lock works. If not, I'll wait.

Oh yes that's always a key. I'd love to have it my Fold

I'm not sure if the other link was working so added the web

Haha well, if Good Lock isn't compatible, that would be scary because my user experience depends heavily on it. :D
Yeah, I recommend not updating. The risks doesn’t outweigh the reward… haven’t seen anything newsworthy for One UI 8.

I plan on experiencing One UI 8 when it officially launches… or perhaps with the Fold 7.

I just joined the One UI 8 beta
We'll see how it goes!

Thank you for your sacrifice. Please let us know what all new you have found.
So far so good....I haven't noticed any differences..Oh except for the obligatory..."it feels faster and snappier" response!
Android 16 does handle notifications so well over IOS....

Edit: The battery percentage display needs to be bigger....

Now if there’s any multitasking changes on the Galaxy Fold… I’ll update to the beta. Because if we get a OnePlus Open Canvas-like feature… that’s worth checking out.

Totally different experience for me. I always have found that Samsungs always have much better signal than iPhones.

I'll believe it when I see it. After all my years playing with phones, the iPhone has always been much better at push notifcations than Android. I am talking Android in general, no specific phone maker.

I have already talked about my experience with this earlier in this thread.

Oh yeah, to update my phone call experience, I actually updated my phone settings to default to Wi-Fi calling, and we haven't had any issues. So hopefully that fixed it!
