I find this interesting, because I'm the opposite. I've owned Android devices and I still prefer IOS and my iPhone. I do like my S24 Ultra as a second phone, but with the current bugs i'm experiencing in One UI 7, I'm using it less and less. The one thing I will say that I prefer tho, is the zoom on the S24 Ultra, it's far superior to that of my iPhone 15 Pro Max.

I know this is about the S25 Ultra, but One UI 7 is more or less the same (excluding one or two features). To be fair it may just be that because I have multiple Apple devices, it's more convenient and those who have multiple Samsung devices can say the same. Personally I still prefer IOS. I may trade in my S24 Ultra for the Google Pixel 10 OR just scrap it and get the iPhone 17 Pro Max OR if it's just the same as my iPhone 15 Pro Max, wait until the 18. All I know at this point is that I'm in the Apple camp and have no intentions of fully going Android.
I'm older so I may be a bit bias but I also prefer IOS. I just prefer the spotlight search, the better stock keyboard (more accurate with much better haptics), and imessage, find my friends and stuff like that.

At my age honestly I don't even use 90% of the stuff anymore, i don't even browse like that on my phone anymore. I just pick it up to check for calls and texts.

For me IOS is just better but of course the scrolling is terrible (90mhz) if that as I wouldn't call that 120mhz at all even on the pro models. Slower charging, poor file management and so forth IOS isn't for everyone.

It's funny you say that because when I got my iPhone 16, I immediately thought "I don't need anything more than this" and then later picked up my S25 Ultra and was like "I NEED ALL OF THIS"!

Eventually I think I'll be in your boat though. If the iOS keyboard was anywhere close to Gboard on Android, that would be huge. And overall if iOS would simplify their software to be more intuitive and require less thought, then I think it would be better for those who are older. Right now, after getting through the initial setup, I actually think Android is less complex and easier for someone who is older.

There is a an option on Samsung called easy mode, it pare downs to the core functions only and more if you so wish, for someone who does not want to see all the bells and whistles :)

Try it you can easily switch back and forth :)

I tried that because it made everything big for my eyes. It took away my edge, and I use that alot, so I had to take it off easy mode. 😆. By the way I just bought a S25 ultra.

It would have been nice if Samsung had the option of having the side button as a fingerprint sensor. It worked excellent on the flip 6. Reason being, now that I have a screen protector, my fingerprint scanner doesn't work, even on high sensitivity.

Have you tried pressing marginally harder and holding for a little longer than you previously did?

Whenever applying a screen protector, you should re-add your fingerprint after the screen protector is on.

I’ve bought a Samsung S25 Ultra in Silver Blue for around 1000 EUR. For 2 reasons: I had a Samsung S22 Plus as a development device. I wanted something newer, so I will sell this one to my dad for a very friendly price, and will use the S25 Ultra as a developing device.

But there’s also a second reason: what if the iPhone 17 Pro Max will take a huge price hike and it will stay that way? I don’t feel like paying nearly 2000 EUR for a phone. Yes, I am in the EU, but I suspect Apple to up their prices anywhere in the world.

Better to get to know both worlds, then. :)

I. Took of mines to be honest. It's much better without it and I noticed the screen is pretty tough.

I have the s24 ultra though

I think spotlight search alone makes iOS easier for most people. It's so easy to do, and Android swipe up from the bottom might be a bit off since you can see how clunky the os is when you do it.

I'm using SwiftKey and it's great, but there are occasional errors, but now Grwmmsrly has a built-in extension while typing with any keyboard to look for errors.

Nothing unique about spotlight search our Samsung search bar does the same and looks in lots of places on your phone and internet etc :)

I’m in uk. Unlocked direct from Samsung. Haven’t received may update as of yet

Anyone see Google's announcement about Android 16? looks interesting. I'm assuming it will be coming to Samsung phones.

Well, Google's Material 3 Expressive design is only coming to Pixel devices... Samsung and other Android OEMs will see Material 3 design in Google's apps (GMail, Drive, G-Suite, Chrome & etc...).

But for the most part, Google's announcement yesterday of Android 16 was about their new design language.

Anyone else's S25U taken a massive battery life hit since the May update? I noticed it a bit after April but now it is very bad. Tried clearing cache and all the typical "fixes" suggested out there. I also run in "light" performance profile 24/7. I've been traveling for the last week so not really on wifi, but have had strong 4G and 5G signals most of the time.

Glad I'm not the only one. Same, I lose a lot of battery by mid-day. It just went from 36% to 35% since my post 5 mins ago not even using the phone. Yesterday I was at 17% by the end of the day with only a few hours on screen time. I can't imagine how much worse it'd be using the normal performance profile. Hopefully June update will fix whatever the heck is going on.

No change for me. Battery lasts ~2 days on charge of ~75-80% down to mid-to-low 20's typically.

I don't have Power Saving enabled in Settings (though do have Battery Guardian App power saving on). Most of the time when not traveling, I'm on wifi (6 at home and older infrastructure at work).

I recently traveled to AZ and was there a couple of days before the update became available. Even on T-Mobile 5g much of the time, there was no significant change in battery performance after the update.

That was mine when I first got it through April's update. Glad at least you don't seem to be experiencing it, seems to be an issue with S25 series.
