Is it the same or do you think Live activities is better? I've never noticed it on my iPhone 15 Pro Max, is it a feature that has to be enabled?

Live activities will be far better as tons of apps support it. That said now bar is new so I hope developers will add support let’s see

Very underwhelming! I was hoping the rumours and leaks were wrong, I wanted bigger upgrades to the cameras. After all this is Samsung the company who put a 200MP camera in a smartphone a few years back.
They have removed bluetooth for the S-Pen which means no camera control with the side button as a clicker. Even the colours are rubbish this year.

Even if you are into AI, there is no big upgraded Bixby or Samsung AI, it's Googles Gemini which can be found on Google's own Pixel.

Maybe Smart phones have peaked and my expectations are too high. At least I save money......well until Google announces the Pixel 10 line up at least.......who knows tho, maybe they will also fail to impress.

Well yeah even Gemini live works on iPhone lol

That said circle to search features is new

I dont understand why Samsung have removed it tho.
Maybe because they have data that a very small percentage of users used it.

If the feature is very important to you… by all means, voice your opinion in the Samsung Members app (if a large group of people speak up, they likely bring it back). I already mentioned in this thread there are other alternatives to get the same features from the lack of Bluetooth on the S25U S-Pen.

I'm going to be keeping my S24 Ultra, at least until I decide if I will be jumping to a Pixel when the 10 comes out later this year. It's not a feature I use everyday, but it's handy for taking group pictures or astrophotography when the phone is on a tripod. The S-Pen is a nice little feature, I use it to sign PDF's but I can live without it, my iPhone doesn't have a pen. If need be I can just use my iPad Pro with Apple Pencil for signing documents and drawing.

I use the palm gesture when taking a group photo. Turn the option on, position the phone and just hold up your palm to start the countdown. I think I've also done it via voice command

If it’s not something you use every day and you can live without… then I don’t get the discontent you have over Samsung removing the feature.

Furthermore, it would be one thing if Samsung has completely removed the idea of remote camera shutter capabilities… it’s a feature that can be used with the S-Pen Pro and Galaxy Watch. Perhaps, Dave2D was on to something when he mentioned that Samsung probably made the decision to push consumers to the Galaxy Watch.

And I know… you are tied to the Apple Watch.

Nice find! Wasn’t aware of the palm gesture.

Because they have removed something that was there in the first place. A feature that was there. It would be like removing the S-Pen, most people probably don't use it every day but people would still be unhappy if it went away.
It's not the full reason I'm not buying a S25 Ultra, in fact it's a very small reason. I just don't think there is much of a reason this year to upgrade from my S24 Ultra. I don't think Samsung have done enough, just like I didn't think Apple did enough last year with the 16 line up and didn't upgrade my iPhone. Also I'm thinking of trying a Pixel again when the 10 comes out.

Just last week I was the only samsung user in a group of iPhoners. Everyone trying to hold their iphones far enough away to get a group selfie. There were lots of ooo, aahhh and "does the iphone have that?" noises when I just put the s24u a distance away and held my palm up to take the photo. Very useful feature

Thx Samsung, this year, finally, i do not even consider switching from iPhone.

Tbf, not a lot of folks upgrade annually.

It’s actually pretty normal to wait a year or two before upgrading. I personally don’t critique these companies for doing small changes on their design annually. It’s only when they hold onto some old technology when it’s long been passed by (60hz on an iPhone).

Because as @SteveJUAE mentioned, it’s not sustainable for companies to make big changes every year when only a small minority buy phones annually.

I do think, while I am most likely not switching, people are being a little too tough on Samsung. The phone market is what it is now. I didn't upgrade from the iPhone 15 PM to the 16 PM for that very reason. Just felt like a dumb financial decision.

Samsung makes awesome phones. I wish I had the guts to pull the trigger but I know what happens every time, even now where I'm really fed up with Apple as a whole. I honestly think if I were to switch to Android, I would need some sort of hypnosis to prevent those itches to switch back to happen. Haha!

We all knew you were not going to switch from Apple. Or at least not for longer than a week.....

It's honestly not as bad as you think to have 2 phones, you get the best of both worlds and it scratches that itch. Plus now a days they are not just phones anymore.
For me I like it because one day I can use my iPhone, another day I can use my S24 Ultra. I find I use them depending on my mood but also based on what I'm doing that day.

I don't think I'm being harsh on Samsung in particular, I'm the same with every brand of phone that I think of getting. With them costing more and more, I think they need to deliver more.

I think so, but then you look at the Android market in China and they have much more innovation. Samsung needs more competition over this side of the world.

I just want them to fix the shutter lag. It's the only fix I want. Hard to believe that Apple and Google and probably other Android manufacturers figured it out but Samsung can't. I have the S23U, Flip6 and Fold6 that I rotate and for me the perfect phone would be a Fold with the Ultra camera system that doesn't have the shutter issue.

I think they do, I think a lot of these companies are playing it safe. We need the Steve Jobs of the world to push the boundaries again otherwise all we are getting are boring small updates.
I think that was part of Apples problem, all the good people have left. The innovators like Jobs and Johnny Ive.

K. For the record, the last time I switched, I switched for almost 10 months before switching back. I know the narrative of "you won't last a week" is funny, but it's actually far from reality.
You never gave the Pixel 9 Pro XL a chance - one day......... come on.

The reason I went for the S25 is it’s the cheapest way of getting a snapdragon 8 Elite device. Plus I run my Android device alongside my iPhone and it would be replacing by then a six and half year old Android device so it still represents a huge upgrade across that length of time. Also I keep my phones much longer than I use to so long software support is a must. I didn’t upgrade last year because of the lack of RAM on the S24 plus the choice of CPU. I personally believe Snapdragon devices are more future proofed. My current device is rocking a Snapdragon 845 & 8GB RAM & that’s held up fairly well.
