I notice it the most when my wife and I are chilling at the end of the night and my Apple Watch keeps buzzing. And I have a lot of notifications turned off lol. Just can’t escape the constant notifications. Just looking at the Watch 6 Classic going for $170 open box at Best Buy is really tempting. Then I wouldn’t feel compelled to always wear it.

I usually use do not disturb mode after a certain time, I set it so that only certain people can message me after a certain time.

The Watch 6 Classic was a great watch, in fact the Classic range as whole is great. The rotating bezel is the reason for me, when I went back to my Apple Watch Ultra the one thing I missed was that rotating bezel, seems trivial I know but it’s like the S-Pen with the top that you can click 😂

I believe rumours are saying that Samsung will be releasing a Watch 8 classic this year, not sure if that means they are discontinuing the Ultra or if it will be on an every other year cycle.

The Galaxy watch Classic is no different in terms of features etc to the standard watch other than it has a simulated analogue rotating bezel and not the digital sensor on the standard watch.

I agree it was a nice retro feel to it, but you paid more and had some different finishes/straps.

The classic is not a replacement for the ultra which like Apples top tier watch, it has many more features and endurance etc over the standard models including the classic.

Oh yea I know, the only difference was the rotating bezel, also the standard Galaxy Watch was more comfortable for working out in. There was just something about the rotating bezel that i liked.

Yea the classic is a different watch, an everyday wear, the ultra is more like an extreme/endurance sports watch, for people that need the extra battery life. I do like the look of the Ultra and Classic. Both serve different purposes.

Sold my 16 PM today. I've carried two phones for the last four years and it's almost a relief to only have one.
Connected the AWU to an old iPhone 11. I only use it for workouts and payments and it's enough to sync a couple of times a week.
Hope I don't regret it :)

Yeah as a current AW Ultra 2 user, yeah freaking love the watch, but in reality, it’s overboard for me. I don’t work out nearly enough to justify an Ultra. Same with Galaxy when I looked at the price.

I love it for running, I love being able to go for long runs and not worrying about battery life. I assume he Galaxy Watch Ultra is as good like that. If i wasn’t into running marathons and the time it takes to train, i would just go with a normal smartwatch.

Has anyone else experienced inconsistent fingerprint unlock? Seems as though there may be a bug...

It had been inconsistent for me- works sometimes and during the same day I'd end up unable to unlock without double tapping and entering my PIN.

I disabled Fingerprint always on which appears to have sorted it out. Now I just need to double tap and then fingerprint auth (same as on S24+) instead of just placing my thumb on the phone (with display off) and successfully unlocking.

I'm not doing any high performance activities with my Galaxy Watch Ultra... but i bought it for the bigger screen and battery life. I think that's the two main reason behind folks opting to buy Ultra watches over the standard models.

I don't even take advantage of the cellular on my Watch Ultra... I was able to get it at a good price with a trade in, probably upgrade to the Watch 8 Classic if there is a big jump in the processor. Samsung didn't upgrade the processor from the Watch 4 to the Watch 5... so, I didn't upgrade. And when the Watch 6 Classic came out... reviewers didn't really sing high praises on it in comparison to the Watch 5 (modest upgrade).

But when the Ultra came out, the reviewers spoke highly of the speed difference and performance. I was hesitant on upgrading to the Ultra... the whole circle screen with squircle shape just didn't appeal to me at all. But eventually decided I had to... wasn't feeling the performance on the Watch 4 Classic.

The Ultra is also the more comprehensive health an well being and not just for sports :)

I find for general use there is no discernible difference comfort wise between my Galaxy 6 classic or my Ultra and in terms of functionality the Ultra has a lot more

But sure the bezel was a nice feature but the extra complications on the Ultra makes losing the bezel a non issue

Interesting. It’s only not worked for me maybe one or two times. Do you have a screen protector on?

Yep I am lucky my company gives a $1000 credit each year for health related stuff like gym memberships etc and the Galaxy Watch Ultra falls under the group of health devices for heart monitoring etc :)

You have the Galaxy Watch Ultra? how big is it on the wrist, does it compare to the Apple Watch Ultra or is it bigger? I have no problem wearing my Apple Watch Ultra, even to bed for sleep tracking. I like the look of the Galaxy Watch Ultra but from a couple of Youtube videos I've seen it looks huge, especially on thin wrists like mine

As for the functionality, do you know If it has any extra functions for runners compared to the standard Galaxy Watch?

It's comparable to the AW Ultra so I would say yes and the GPS tracking is vastly improved and I recall it was one of your major disappointments with the standard GW

I have very small wrists

Yea it was, the original Watch 4 wasn't very accurate when running for some reason it would miss out some of the run.

Not going to lie, I'm tempted to pick one up when it's on offer. The battery life alone is tempting and if they have dramatically improved the workout tracking, it would be great to pair with my S24 Ultra.

with apologies for the astoundingly bad photography but perhaps it'll help show them all... galaxy ultra, apple watch ultra 2, galaxy classic 6

That's very helpful thank you. I've only ever seen the Galaxy Watch Ultra on YouTube videos, it always seems huge, but in your photo it actually doesn't seem much bigger than the Apple Watch Ultra.

Makes me happy with my Watch 6 Classic purchase.
I REALLY don't understand Samsung's reasoning of going with a "square" watch with a circular face, I can see the advantage of reading area of a smart watch with a square face (screen) ... I'm sticking with 6 Classic. ;)

Out of the three, no one comments unless I'm wearing the classic 6 and then all the watch collectors say hah you've stopped wearing rubbish smart watches. Then I show them that it is indeed a smart watch and they usually say oh nice I could actually wear that myself.
My only gripe with the GW/GW6 Classic was it seemed too often I could see the green sensor lights in bed, not so with the Ultra.
