Is that something that's even noticeable?
If it was straight 8 bit to 10 bit possible ish if you know how to spot banding etc as one has 1B hues and the other only 16M hues, however I understand the Samsung is 8 bit + FRC (like most) that uses switching/flashing between the pixels that tricks the eye into see more hues, so unlikely you would see any difference

10 Bit is more for pro's into cinematography or touch up artists etc than mobile users

Right on...

Far more than adequate on a mobile display!!

If anyone wants to go gonzo with display quality:

CRT and gas plasma screens at my local pub were awesome. (My optalmologist for 30+ years said for many years that I had "pilots eyes"... 20/15 or better vision).

Since the pub replaced them with LCD ... (8+ years ago), I can no longer read the scores of the teams I support from afar.

General consensus is that the battery life is awesome on the ultra. Might be worth putting the performance in light mode, and get even more battery. I have my Flip5 in light mode because I don't need all the processing power. No slow downs at all. The new chip should be even better.

My favorite icon pack, Umbra, is no longer available in the Play Store.
What icons are you using?

Not quite sure if I’m actually getting this phone tomorrow. It still shows estimated delivery date of Wednesday but the cancel item button is still there. Nothing on Fed Ex either. Not a huge deal but just hoping we’re not looking at an extended delay.

Did you buy from Samsung or a carrier? My Samsung preorder had the cancel button there until the night before it arrived.

Oh that’s good to know! Yeah, I ordered it through Samsung. I thought there was a way to track by a reference on FedEx, but nothing’s coming up for me. I even put “US” after my order number.

Ope. Actually my status now is "There has been an unexpected delay. We will update the new delivery date at the earliest".

Not sure what that's supposed to mean.

I bet you see some movement on it today. Samsung is pretty good about getting orders out and in buyers' hands on time. It will probably ship FedEx overnight and be on its way to your door in the morning.

Probably not anymore. It's weird. It says I could still buy the phone and get it Thursday though. So if it's going to be a while, they probably should update their shipping time frame on the website.

I'll hang tight and see where this goes. I chatted with an agent and she said there are now delays due to excessive demand.

I remember loving OneUI Dark too.

Thanks for these. Added quite a few of these to my wishlist.
No problem, I forgot mention Bloom… I like that one as well.

But all the icon packs are still in progress… some icon packs I removed because devs/designers gave up and no longer updated them.

Excessive demand? Lol Not sure about that.. maybe depends on the configuration you went with. When did you order it again?

I ordered it last Thursday, the 6th. The 512gb While Silver S25U. I finally started getting concerned yesterday because the cancel order button was there. Did a chat this morning and then they updated the status to basically "who knows when it's shipping". But that exact same configuration says it would arrive on Feb 13th on the website if you try to order, so kind of a mess.

samsungs status updates were rubbish for me this year... it didn't even say it was out for delivery until a couple of days after I'd received it.

I still reckon you'll get it tomorrow or at least I hope you do

Yeah, periodically checking FedEx (if that's still who they ship with) might be my best bet.

Decided to sideload Home Up, no bugs encountered so far. My home screen now just has 7 daily apps on the very bottom and otherwise just weather and calendar widgets. Moved all other frequently used apps over to the edge panel that I also adjusted to 3 apps per row and unlimited rows / scrolling. Love the grid task changer in Home Up. I see that Home Up is accessible now just by long pressing on the home screen and going into settings, and then more customizations. Much more convenient than opening Good Lock every time I want to use it. Maybe it has always been like this, I used to open Good Lock / the app itself every time I wanted to use Home Up. Haven't used the now brief yet but the live notifications for sports scores, music, Audible, are working perfectly. Hopefully many other apps will take advantage of it. We had to visit doctor for my wife last night and he recommended some medication I'd never heard of. Whipped out the S-Pen and jotted it down, really handy.

I am starting to see why people love the Ultra. Still honeymoon phase, but I've not been this impressed with a new phone in quite some time. As someone who has never used a Note/Ultra, it's like a whole new world 😂 .

The weird thing about this "Delay" is that if I were to go online and buy the same exact model, it shows this Friday for delivery. So my assumption is that I should get it by Friday. If that doesn't happen, and they're currently advertising a Friday, Feb 14th delivery date, then that's obviously a problem.

I also added the White Buds 3 Pro and those have always had a March 3rd delivery. I just hope they're not delaying it to save on shipping so they can bundle both together.

I still think it'll be tomorrow.. I dont think samsung logistics is clever enough to bundle later purchases tbh ;-)

Welcome to the endless world of OneUI!

Samsung has really done a very good job since the s20 series on OneUI. Compared to past iterations of Samsung's custom Android interface it has become almost superior or at least in some ways superior to any other Android skin or even iOS.

I think this is a huge win for Samsung. Offering 7 years of major updates and security updates is really a huge deal in my opinion as well.

Samsung has gone from pretty clunky, heavy UI and hardware changes yearly to much, much better UI and hardware refinements that allow them to truly make a great device. They have almost become like Apple with small hardware updates and a more cohesive UI evolution.

We all can argue they should have done more year over year or not but generally they have improved.

My only pet peeve with the hardware is when they cut any corners at all in regards to the Ultra series. If you charge $1300 for a phone I don't see why any corners are ever cut. To be fair as many on these forums have pointed out hardly anyone actually pays even clise to that price. And when QC jacks up the price of their CPU hardware it makes it hard for Samsung to keep profits up while still delivering more hardware wise and keeping prices the same.

I really wish Exynos processors would get better and Samsung spent more money on making in house CPU at least as good as the competition and hopefully better then they could control pricing on their in house hardware and have a better competitive edge like Apple does with their processors.

Don't obsess over delivery date. Easier said than done but try to put it out of your mind and think it will deliver later than it says online.

That way when it does come hopefully it will be earlier than you now think and be a pleasant surprise rather than a miserable wait.

The more you look and think about it the more you will be frustrated. Just forget about it. It is on its way and you just need to be patient.

I have obsessed over delivery dates for devices many, many times and I always eventually get what I ordered but the misery I caused myself checking delivery status and time wasted was nit worth it in my humble opinion. I get what you are going through. You are not alone. Just try to put it out of your mind.

There's little more frustrating than a delivery you're itching to get your hands on

Oh yeah, I've moved on with my day haha. But if it's the end of the week and I still don't have a delivery date, then yeah, gonna be a bit more antsy and underwhelmed by the whole experience. But it is what it is. It's a preorder and I was later in ordering so things can happen.

They've made a lot of progress for sure. Perhaps they'll follow Apple / Google in a few years and refine their own Exynos CPU to the point where it is actually competitive. I paid $1300 for mine which hurts, but it'll be softened by ~$750+ from selling my OP13. Assuming I keep the phone, as of now I don't see any reason not to, I'll take advantage of pre-order deals on the S26 next year.

I've had the phone since last Friday and still haven't used the camera, there's that much else to tinker with on this phone! I've never used a phone with two telephoto lenses and have no idea on when to use this, so there's a learning curve here as well.
