Does anyone know if you can amend notification sounds per app?
In the standard settings all I get is the ability to turn sounds on or off, no option to change the actual sound like I can on Pixel? Thanks in advance!

Either change it in the app or do this:
- Hold down the app icon and you'll get a pop up.
- Click on the info icon in the top right of the pop up. (little "i" in a circle)
- Choose notifications.
- Choose notification categories

Now you can go into any category and change the sounds for that particular notification of the app.

PS - If you don't see notification categories in the step above, go into settings - notification - advance settings - and then scroll down to the
bottom and turn on "Manage notification categories for each app."

Let’s go!

Just a quick heads up. Make sure to go into your Gallery settings and turn on the "Open in video player" option. This way when you open a video in your gallery it open in the video player app and not in the gallery. So much better. Make sure all your options under editing are also turned on.
Also, download Camera Assistant for more camera options like zoom shortcuts.
Then download Sound Assistant. In Sound Assistant go into the Multi sound option and choose Camera. This will allow you to play Spotify or any other music player while shooting video. It's a quick and easy way to have music in your video.

I was at a banquet tonight so I haven't had a ton of time to truly spend on this phone but so far my first impression is that OneUI 7 is phenomenal. Was able to settle down tonight and get Good Lock rolling b😀

Nice icon pack, I believe that's BeeLine Icon Pack. I have one similar to that called LineX. Currently using the Crayon Icon Pack. It's been a long time favorite. If you want a cleaner look, you can hide the gesture bar on your navigation bar.

One thing that is a bit frustrating, is that some notifications from some apps cannot be turned off. So far I've had nothing but notifications from Samsung's own apps, none of which I actually want to use. When I long press the notif and go to turn off notifications, the button is greyed out. Not keen on that at all. Let me choose what I want to see and don't force your apps down my throat!

That aside, very much enjoying it!

Which apps? Never encountered that myself..

A couple quick observations:

- Setup was such a breeze compared to the last time I switched to Android. Even all of my text messages transferred over using Smart Switch, something that was an absolute mess last time.

- Unfortunately the Google Photo tip to make it the default photo picker still doesn't seem to work. Either I'm doing something wrong or it's just something I have to deal with. Samsung Gallery is actually nice though, so I might download my favorite pictures from Google Photos and use the Gallery app primarily.

- I might actually switch to YouTube Music. It's really well done and has some music on it that you can't get on Apple Music.

More to come!

Not sure how it works on Android Auto... but you can access Apple Music under the Google app. You can then ask Gemini or Google Assistant to play an album or playlist.

That is also my experience with Apple Music on Pixel.

I've never used an S-Pen. This is a great tutorial.

It’s sad they dropped the BT feature. The remote click for camera and potentially slideshows was a selling feature for me.

Can one pair / use an older S-Pen on the S25?

I have always hated how Samsung takes over all the notification tones with their own. Takes forever to go and change them and change the notification settings for individual apps but once that is all taken care of this phone is just amazing. I'm still a Pixel guy but the overall upgrade in performance and battery life may just pull me back to Samsung.

I'm so hooked on Spotify but really like YT music. Been using it for the past week and surprised how good it is.

Yeah must admit I still prefer Pixel UI over One UI but I'm not turned off to the point I couldn't use the S25 U or anything. Just preference.

Here's another notification I've just had that I can't stop...

Yeah, it's really nice how it integrates my downloaded library. The Recently played Widget is awesome too! And one of my favorite musicians is Marcus King, and on YouTube Music, he just had a live album released yesterday. Nowhere to be found on Apple Music.

More thoughts:

- It's crazy how iMessage used to be the hook and sinker for Apple. The EU really did them dirty because I'm using Google Messages and completely blown away by the app, and now with RCS on Apple, there is really nothing that makes me miss iMessage.

- Typing on this phone is fantastic using Gboard compared to Apple. Night and day difference.

- Can't wait to dive into some of this AI fun. Gemini is a little inconsistent though, but it'll get there. I asked it for directions to somewhere and it actually kept getting my voice detection wrong. But it has already handled other tasks flawlessly.

yeah imessage isnt an issue for me any more. Other than "oh no you trying android again, it'll be a week before youre on iphone again" comments, functionality is fine

gboard I'm still on samsungs, maybe I should try gboard!

AI amazing and miles ahead of apple for me personally

Im on youtube music too, cancelled apple music/spotify since I get yt with yt premium anyway and its great!

definitely be interested to see what you find with the cameras
