Oh I'm not going to do it 😂 . I don't want to brick the phone or waste my time. Was just curious whether anyone has tried. I know people flash carrier locked phones with unlocked firmware.
Right on.

I'm waiting for the official T-Mobile unlocked update as I rely upon my mobile for both work and personal comms.

Heck, I think my work profile nixes any sideloading sort of chicanery anyway haha

Using a carrier locked firmware on an unlocked phone is just a gamble. Might not be incompatible at all or might be. You just don't know. Plus if there is any added carrier bloatware you might not be able to get rid of it. Might also use different cellular bands which could cause reception problems.

Odin is also a bit finicky. Sometimes it works great and other times it doesn't. It can brick your phone and Samsung won't help you under warranty. That risk alone is too big for me. On top of that downloading firmware of a site that may not be the most secure could come with other security issues.

I know the person who posted about downloading carrier firmware on an unlocked phone won't do it but just for anyone else reading this thread I would really highly advise against it.

I love FaceID for the accuracy and quickness but now that the fingerprint is as good as it is on the S25U it really is a non issue. Plus when I'm wearing my CPAP mask in bed I can appreciate having an on screen FPS versus having to type in a PIN which I have to do on my iPhone because FaceID doesn't work with my mask on.

I've never liked the idea of using faceID for opening my Bitwarden password vault, Secure Space folder and other sensitive/confidential things. PIN for everything is too inefficient/inconvenient... sticking with biometric auth (and occasional PIN re-authentication).

Best colour 😅😏
The color is not my problem - I got the 15 PM in natural titanium in my hand right now.

But will it be worth it to switch to android with the s25 ultra? I am worried I made the wrong decision by ordering it …

Oh one addition to my mini review. Difference in app quality is no longer a thing. I actually have an app that I use for lyrics when I play shows and it works better than the iOS version, which would sometimes just randomly close out or start glitching midway through songs. Played 2 shows already with this phone, hasn't happened once.

I don’t know if it’s a mistake, but I ordered the S25 ultra in titanium grey.
Will test it out when it’s arrived, maybe I’ll keep it maybe not we will see…
The only way you will know if you like something is to try it.

You should have two weeks to find out.

There are advantages and disadvantages to Android and iOS.

At the end of the day you are the only one who will know what is best for you.

People like to argue about apps and everything else under the sun but the truth is that Android and iOS have pretty much equal parity when it comes to functionality. It is more personal preferences on hardware, security, and ecosystem.

Good luck figuring what you like best.

My only advice is you give Android enough time to get used to it. Don't use you iPhone at all while you are testing the s25 ultra. Otherwise you are going to want to go back to what is familiar.

Thanks for the kind words and advice ! That’s helping.

And I decided to stick with my 15 PM for the next few years, not that much money for another phone and I have to many paid apps / subscriptions for iOS apps only I would miss.

I canceled my order, it was way to impulsive my order I guess

It is really easy to get caught up in the hype of new stuff.

I wasn't trying to discourage you from getting the s25, the opposite.

However, I was trying to be honest and as objective as I can be.

If you like something the grass isn't always greener on the other side just because it is new. The other thing is if you are heavily invested in Apple it is really nice how everything works together and is so streamlined.

Having an Androud and a Mac and iPad is fine and nothing at all wrong with it but at the end of the day having continuity with everything you own is not something easily quantifiable until you lose it.

Apple is set according to rumors to have a major redesign of the iPhone 17 series so that might be something to consider later this year?

Battery has been great for me so far!
I have 4 SOT with battery at 55%
I can live with that!

That's great to hear the battery life has been treating you so well on your new device! 4 hours of screen-on time with 55% battery left is really impressive.

Good choice. You have to be all in on the switch and sometimes that's not enough haha.

I'm going to try to cool down the Samsung vs Apple comparisons and talk about the phone as is, but I will say, now that RCS is a thing on Apple, I enjoy Google Messages so much more, probably on par with iMessage. It's a really great app and the spam protection is fantastic!

I think iMessage is a little fuller featured and still a bit better for group texts but I really like Google Messages. Spam message and spam call detection is much better on the S25U (and even better on Pixels).

Still feeling the 16PM pull at me a little bit but there's no doubt the S25U is a better overall device. Really loving the camera, battery life, display, and OneUI 7.

Thankfully all of my group texts are with a mix of Android and iPhone users haha.

how did you set it to that and what font and where can I get it please?
Thanks.
Haha thanks now to know what font lmao it's one of a few TTF ones I put here on Drive, I believe got this from XDA awhile ago. Create a folder in directory and place TTF there and follow instruction on app
