Could certainly be that, but I somehow doubt it. I am talking about multiple banking apps throughout many years of Android phones. How can they all be bad on Android?

Of course you did just justify the argument about APPs being better and more refined on iOS as opposed to Android. :)

Even APPs such as my Bible app has delayed notifications. At noon today, like every day, my iPhone on the dot dinged with the daily Bible verse. My Pixel 8 Pro sitting here as well didn't come through until 12:15.

So ya, I underdstand what you are saying, but it just seems like its a lot of APPs that all do that on Android. How can they all be bad compared to their iOS counterparts?
This has been an issue for as long as i've been using iPhone and Android (which is many many years now ;) )
Mostly noticeable when the phones are just left idle - the iPhone will always ping the alert instantly, whereas the android will either take time or alert when you wake it up.
I've found that if i'm actually using the phone, and a whatsapp message is sent for instance, i will receive at the same time on both devices.

Still absolutely love this phone. Very content. It's such a great device and really enjoying using it day to day. I don't have any complaints.
Considering the Samsung silicone case as seen a few people rocking it on Reddit who have posted pics and it looks great. Shame no magsafe, but wouldn't hurt to have another case in rotation as only need magsafe when I am in the car.

Agreed! My only complaint (and this might be user error), but the one thing I miss is different modes determining which notifications come through. I messed around a bit with modes and routines and couldn't find that option. I do need to play around a bit more though.

I absolutely agree. The S25U has been the best overall phone I have ever used.

notifications are literally the only thing that still bugs me on the s25. I love the ui, the cameras just about everything. Notifications just seem plain weird. Delayed or never come, there'll be a badge on email saying 4 unread even though they're all read, I go into the app, come out, 23 unread!

On an iphone, it sits on my desk and the always on display shows me notifications that have arrived. Not just little icons but either brief or full text so I can just glance and think ok nothing important. On the s25 I've tried glimpse, AODnotify and I just can't get it to do anything sensible on the AOD.

I show iphone people and they gasp in horror. I show android people and they look at me and tell me its great or they shrug and say "I just look at the lock screen, doesnt bother me"

Yeah, I'm weird because for me, the less notifications, the better. I'm sick of notifications. Haha. As long as my phone rings and I get texts and Social Media updates, I'm good. Or if the world is about to blow up, I'd like to know. Otherwise, I don't want them! :D

I never thought I'd enjoy something as simple as customizing a keyboard, but I'm spending way too much time with Keys Cafe haha. Love the exploding light effects per key when I type, custom light and dark keyboards that switch automatically when day / night mode is enabled.

Also used Dex for the first time last night, bought a Dex-friendly 1200p monitor with keyboard and trackpad on Amazon that was on sale for about $130. It has a built in 5000mah battery so I can work with just the "laptop" and my phone for about 5 hours a charge. MS Remote Desktop works flawlessly and I can connect to my office server when out of town for the rest of the week. It's pretty much same experience as using a PC. Leaving the useless iPad at home 😂 . Very useful I imagine when flying, as I can use my free wifi on my phone and mirror that to the monitor.

I'm very tempted to try the Find N5 or Vivo X200, but all of these little features of OneUI are just unmatched (so far).

Thank you for co-signing my complaint. :)

I'll say this though, I had a really bad day a couple days ago where my mind started convincing myself that I should return to iPhone, literally for no good reason at all. Really hate the pull that Apple has but I'm hanging in there and loving this phone!

Out of interest as I don't use my IP16P as my main I switched all notifications on, already set on my Fold6

Sent an email to myself on my apple account from my MB 14" M3, so everything in theory is stacked in IP16P favour

Set both devices to AOD and made sure all apps closed and all on same WiFi and used native apps

My M3 pinged in about 5 elephants
My Fold 6 pinged in 6 elephants later
My IP16P pinged in 67 elephants later than the F6

When both phones are unlocked they ping more or less at the same time

The IP16PM does clear the notification if read on the M3 instantly opposed to clear on the F6

To ensure you get your Samsung mail quickly you need to make sure its set to synch on arrival

The Iphone will flash up for a few seconds the msg but it will revert to a line of text eg "2 Notifications" which you can tap to read them on the AOD, this is same as Samsung you double tap on the Icons to read them from the AOD

Ya that happens to me every time I get the Android itch and buy one.

I see the shiney new Android phone, buy it, love using it for a month or two, then always end up going back to my iPhone. 2 months tops.

I've always had the iphone set to show the full notification on the AOD (privacy risk but Im ok with it). So for me, android phone sits there with just some tiny icons on its aod, iphone sits there with the last few notifications full visible.

I accept it's just me and it's just what I'm used to :) but with all the customisation in android, I wish there was some more on the AOD. I can't even get detailed notifications with edge lighting, has to be changed to brief :/

Anyway, so much else great about the phone and like @mjschabow rightly says, we all get too many notifications anyway. I should turn the things off :)

Ooooh I actually found out how to limit certain apps and notifications to come through. The "Relax" mode. That's perfect. Normally what I do is allow every app to send notifications, but I only allow Calls, Texts, Facebook, FB Messenger, and Business Suite to come through on my Watch.

With Relax, I can limit who I even get calls and texts from, and I now don't allow notifications to come through at all. Love it.

ooo I'll have to look at that... I use focus modes on the iphone, relax mode sounds similar

Yeah I guess I just didn't go far enough in the settings when I was trying to set something similar earlier. I really like to use focus modes like that towards the end of the night where I just want some peace and quiet.

Just to follow up this am before I opened my phones (so several hours on AOD) I got my wife to send me a whatsapp, both my F6 and IP16P AOD pinged at the same time :)

I did the same exercise with my email to myself from my MB and the IP16P was still a good min behind my F6

ymmv

I go through this all the time. The struggle is real. The S25U is strong enough though that I haven't given in yet after a month plus. I keep my 16PM with me all the time though connected to wifi either at the office, truck, home, or wherever I'm traveling in the hotel. Not a complete break away from the iPhone.

it's really weird isnt it? I know the 16pm is boring, AI is far worse on it, camera white balance off, camera lens glare bad, animations slow and cant be turned off (that I know of), having to scroll through screens to see all apps painful v swipe up anytime on s25...

I could go on and yet... somehow the 16pm feels... comfortable :/ argh.

For me it's the ecosystem and also it's best at being a reliable and well rounded communications device which should be the most important fundamental principle of a smartphone.

The S25U is perhaps the best device I've ever used. Battery, camera, functionality, display, build. I love everything about it but that pull is still there at times.

I emphasize with all of you! I feel the tug from my 16PM all the time, even though it is turned off in a drawer!
My son and I were in an Apple store last night to schedule a screen repair for his 15PM. Man it was like my heart rate went up a few notches..... all the new products like new MBA and new iPad Air.....that blacked out MBP looks sweet!
But i was able to keep strong and didn't buy anything!

I love my Space Black M4 MBP. I carry it with me every day. That is also part of the pull of the iPhone with how well they work together.

If you quit drinking but were having strong urges to relapse, you would not keep a few beers in the shed, a flask of whiskey in the toilet tank and go into a pub with a mate. Yet you are doing this with Apple

man...you're not helping me! That 16 inch all black MBP would be mine if it had a touchscreen!
