I understand the beta part of it. Figured since s25 launched with One UI 7… it had this feature, seems odd to me. Nevertheless… glad to see it’s coming for s25 users.
Yeah, I don't really need much more from the Now Bar at this point other than the music controls shown in the video, would love some 3rd party support in time for Fantasy Football. That would be great if Yahoo Fantasy would integrate.

Also, hopefully they fix it going away if you clear all notifications. I think just giving us the option to make it a persistent notification that we purposely have to swipe would be great!

Yeah, it's buggy for me. Game is over and I currently still have this morning.... along with the fact Google name is cut off at the top.

I think I'm going to have to buy this device....

Wired or wireless docking and touchscreen!
This could almost make this a laptop replacement IMHO

I have almost purchased that a few times. The only thing that held me back was that the only reason I've needed a laptop is to update my Line 6 Firmware, and that requires Windows. Otherwise it looks awesome!

I don’t get why this is better than having an iPhone and MacBook Air? The dock is large and I assume not that much lighter than a 13” MBA? You are still carrying a phone and laptop like device? On top of that you don’t get the full functionality of Windows, Chrome OS or MacOS?

I would rather have a small Chromebook and Pixel or iPhone and MBA personally. Dex is great in a pinch if you don’t have a laptop but I just don’t see this as a solution for just having one device for everything.

Now that all being said the dock might be fun to use and I can see why some people would like it but at $300 you are in Chromebook plus low end price range and I can get a lot more use out of a Chromebook and Android phone than a dock?

I think you missed the point of having a dock like that in the first place. I can carry ONE device that has all of my information....my phone. I can carry my phone with me all day long and then from room to room at home and when needed i can dock it and have instant access to all of my data all in one place one one device that I have been using all day long. It provides a very seamless standard consistent user experience for me.

When traveling...I can carry my phone with me while out sight seeing and return to my hotel room and dock it....(which would also charge my phone) providing a larger display. All my notifications and emails and media all in one place.

I would not have to switch devices to a low end Chromebook or laptop. The one device I have been using all day is already with me......No need to put it down...all i need to do is dock it. The docking station has a touch display and SD Card slots for external storage.

Personally I see technology evolving to a point where we will only carry one device that will sync with all other devices in our homes. We could use our phones then change locations to a car or house and have everything wirelessly sync and communication to be seamless regardless of location. There would no need to have a laptop or Chromebook or MBA. My phone would sync to any media device in my home...like the display on my TV.

But I digress....I want to carry as few devices as I can. Having one device and maybe a dock like this one when I need a larger screen is ideal for me....

I get it. Everyone is different and I was just giving my opinion based on how I use tech.

I think for me a MacBook Air is about the perfect all in one device for me. My phone is generally for me separate because things get too conveluted. Phone calls distract me while I am using a laptop and I like to miss a call if I want to if you understand where I am comig from. It is nice how Apple integrates phone and laptop and I like it better than link to Windows so if I were to use a setup like that that would be it for me.

That being said with the cost of phones these days and the power they now have I agree it would be nice to just have one device to run everything. I just don't see that happening for at least another 5 to 10 years just because of how proprietary software is designed and because of how that software is customized for different hardware and use cases. Phones are still primarily touch and so are tablets while laptops are not. I know You can run full Windows on a surface tablet but the interface just isn't what I personally like unless you use peripherals and then you might as well have a laptop.

I was one of the few people that actually had a Windows phone and Vista and loved both. I liked how MS was going to make things more touch oriented then it just didn't evolve usefully enough for me and then we all know what happened to Windows phone.

We are certainly at the point where Android could be used as a full desktop replacement if Google allowed some changes and iPad's are powerful enough to run full MacOS and probably even an iPhone could but business interests are aligned against this for now and until software changes are made to make a dumb terminal work as well as a laptop both I terms of quality hardware and full desktop software experience I can't live with the compromises. This is just my personal preference after trying to use a tablet as a full desktop/laptop replacement for a couple years.

I hope the day comes soon enough where we can have one device run everything and I am sure it is possible now but in terms of Dex for me at least that day is not today.

Just disabled animations in dev settings. Holy crap. This might be the best setting to ever exist. I am FLYING around the OS. I'm gonna start using this phone a lot more now.

This is the first time I've used a phone where the limiting factor is simply me: my reaction time and speed at which I move my finger. In every other configuration and mobile OS I am waiting for the phone to finish animating before I can do what I want. Double clicking the multitask button is a cheat code. I can't believe it. Every phone should have this optional setting.

Lol I just tried this and I'm not sure if I like it or not.

I'm curious what is the battery capacity on this?

Alternatively - and maybe not as cost effective, yet you'll be getting 2 devices that can act independently/synergistically from/as one another - is to use a Samsung Galaxy Tab S8/S9/S10/ with keyboard+trackpad and use it for Samsung Dex from your Galaxy Tab device.

i am finally back on android with the s25 ultra after years of daily driving an iPhone. I still have my macbook and iPad though.

The 16 pro max I bought had a uneven tint to it and since I cant return phones here, trying to convince a service center for a refurbished replacement didnt seem ideal. A local store traded it in and gave me a s25 ultra. Been enjoying it so far.

How are you folks getting the max out of your phones? I know the routines app can do a ****ton more than shortcuts.

Also, people who've had the 16/15 PM, how do you like the cameras? I thought I'd ask here. As far as motion blur is considered, it seems to be the same as my wife's 15 plus. Asking on reddit is opening a wormhole I am not ready for so thought I'd ask some reasonable folks here.

I've only one routine but it really comes in handy. I have it so anytime I connect my phone to my car, Wi-Fi shuts off. That way I can use my phone to close my garage door without that awkward moment where Wi-Fi is switching over to 5G. I am going to try to add one more routine where if I take my Galaxy Watch Ultra off, notification sounds turn on on my phone.

I love the cameras! You just have to play around a little bit. Have some fun playing with Expert Raw.

Good golly.. Lol. Samsung really needs to release a patch that allows you to get back the sports scores on NowBar after accidently clearing it. I've done this countless times by accident.

I just thought of something and I'm going to try it.

I set OneUi as a notification that I can't clear on NotiStar. I'm going to see if that works the next time one of my sports teams play.

Edit. Just tried it launching maps and it didn't work.
