They need to patch this! Its so annoying.....
Yes! As a consolation, I'm even fine with them giving us the option to turn the notification back on after accidentally deleting it. Not perfect but it's double the trouble that we can't even get the sports scores back.

Based on what I've experienced with Samsung so far though this year, I wouldn't be surprised if they do fix it.

I was about to comment yesterday that I'm seeing much better battery life in the last week, and I think this is why. I've gained a good 1-2 hours SOT.

Is that with One UI 7? as I've posted in the S24 thread, I'm getting stuttering and worse battery life. Hopefully it settles in a day or two, I downloaded yesterday so it could still be settling in.

Oh yeah you'll be fine after a day or two for sure. 🙂

Did you get the update already? I expected it to take months considering how slow these updates usually are, even on Pixel.

I haven't had any battery issues but look forward to the update.
Noting special about these updates you can just get them from the play-store if not auto prompted, no waiting for such updates :)

Or

Just check your apps list and select view in store and you will see download update

I don't think they can be forced. They slowly roll out.
I have checked under Settings - Security & privacy - System & updates - Google Play system update and searched manually for it but it says I'm up to date with the March version.

I seem to have the latest version of Services and Store.

I think we may be talking about different things.
Google Play System can only be updated from the settings menu as I understand.
Both yes and no :)

The Google April updates this month focused on 4 main apps 2 of which we noted above are about the battery saving issue

Google Play services v25.13 (2025-04-07)

System management

  • [Auto, PC, Phone, TV, Wear] Updates to system management services that improve battery life and device connectivity.

Wallet

  • [Phone] With this new feature, you can add a nickname to your passes in Wallet.

Google Play Store v45.7 (2025-04-07)

  • [Phone] With the update to the 'Ask a question' feature, you'll now find answers with videos.
The other 2 -

Android System Intelligence v.23 (2025-03-21)

  • [Phone] Added logging for Adaptive Sound; code optimisation for smart dictation.

Private Compute Services V.23 (2025-03-18)

  • [Phone] Added logging for Adaptive Sound; code optimisation for smart dictation.
Do not seem to have updated in the store currently or maybe not applicable to Samsung

You have to remember we have Samsung phones so not all Google service updates are applicable and Samsung take care of others a different way like security patches

So although in Settings/Google it may say whats new in March its your Samsung update status that counts

However the main Google Services updates are delivered via the Google Play Store and Services apps that can easily be updated

It is a bit confusing with all these different updates :)

I tend to forget about the Google Playstore updates. The problem is there are two different ones, Galaxy Store and then Google Play store. On top of that there is then the OS updates which are obviously in the settings menu. When i updated to One UI 7 the other day, i had a lot of Google Play updates waiting for me 😬

Does anyone use the Tab Ultra with their phone? I bought an S10 Ultra tablet recently, and it's quite good. I don't really use it as a tablet as much as I use it as a laptop with DeX and the keyboard cover.

On another note, it seems like something has changed with the default music service. I've been rocking Spotify for about a month, and now anytime I ask Gemini to play any kind of music, it defaults to YouTube music even though I don't even have the app installed. Anyone else experiencing this?

Why not ask Gemini LOL or just change your request to include "play on Spotify" :)

Is Spotify set as default?

It is. And I think where the change might have happened, they actually moved the default selection to the Google Home app. It used to be in the Google app settings. So I wonder if there's some sort of change happening from the migration to Google Assistant to Gemini. Not a huge deal, but I used to be able to just ask Gemini to play an artist, and it would play it on Spotify.

Also, my long-term plan is to eventually migrate my music service to YouTube. But they're missing a couple of basic settings that it's tough to live without right now.

I would like to move to YT Music as well. But I have the Apple Music family plan and my boys use AM and they are not willing to switch.....they seemed horrified at the suggestion lol
