It was fun being here while itnlasted. I finally got my hands on a 16PM with a perfect screen. Its time for me to return to my apple ecosystem. Loved the s25U but the walled garden is calling me back.
Hope to see you back sometime. I've made this decision many times over the last 10 years. Totally get it. Get out of the garden first and then make the switch.

It's a well known fact that iOS is easier for devs because it's just one brand of phone compared to Android with several different brands. Doesn't maybe iOS apps better or anything, just the reality of it.
There are many facets to app development requirements and if this is your sole point :) it's hardly noteworthy in reference to more functionality for the now bar :)

I suspect its western demographics is the primary factor opposed to developers preference leading this

Where is the source on this?
done abit of digging but this is all i can find.

so it's open but not fully open lol

This notes a few South Korean ones available

Apps like uber, just eat, flight details which would be ideal

I mainly use it for sports but I don’t like how it’s marketed as al but I never get anything else. It has so much potential but at the moment is a poor man’s live activities.

This isn’t even Samsungs fault but developers as I’ve been told it’s open for developers to add to it
Poor man's live activities is the perfect way to describe it. This is a killer feature of iOS that is unrivaled. Bucks playoff game last week the live notification showed a score in the 3rd quarter and when I opened it the game was over! That may have been a one-off though, Brewers games over weekend were accurate. I really hope that more devs utilize it, especially for food delivery.

Congrats. The 16PM screen lottery is ridiculous. Over the last 2 years I've had Pixel 9XL, S24+, S25U (current), OnePlus 13, Xiaomi 14. All of them were perfect on the first try. I think I returned 2 15PM last year and 3 16PM this year. The one that I kept is as good as it'll get, almost perfect.

Go Bucks and Brewers!
Bucks are a mess and won't win anything until they rebuild and sadly, trade Giannis. In my (uninformed) opinion of course. Brewers...the way they lost to the Mets last year killed me and made me question why I even spend time following sports. I'm still not over it (so glad they sent Williams to NYY) and haven't watched Brewers yet this season, just follow scores.

Haha yep. Wisconsin Sports is built to break our hearts.

Well, here in Minnesota, our Twins are terrible with the awful Pohlad sons as owners. It's going to be a long season. However, our Timberwolves are doing great (they beat the Lakers in game 1). Personally, I would love to have Giannis.

There needs to be a salary cap in MLB. I hate the Dodgers with a passion, along with others. I think the first player predicted to get a $1 billion contract will be 2028 when the media deals get re-worked. That is just total, complete, 1000% insanity to me. I could go on and on, but that's OT ;)

Back on topic, I still haven't received the April update on my S25U. Come on Samsung.

I’ve used Android phones on and off (for months) over the years, and now I’m seriously thinking of switching from my iPhone 16 Pro Max to the Galaxy S25 Ultra. I still enjoy my Mac, AirPods Pro, and Apple Watch, but I just don’t like the iPhone or iOS anymore and I’m willing to let go of the watch.

iOS 18 feels laggy and unstable compared to how smooth it used to be. I also dislike the warm screen tone and how the iPhone handles selfies, skin tones look off. The S25 Ultra may not have the absolute best camera (High end Chinese phones win there) but I overall prefer its photo style to iPhone and love the S-Pen.

I paid full price for the 16 Pro Max after selling my 13 Pro Max for just 400, and the upgrade gave me barely any improvement, maybe 2% for 3x the cost of 13 pro Max! It’s a boring, overpriced phone with weak Wi-Fi and no useful AI. I never use iMessage or FaceTime, so switching wouldn’t affect how I communicate.

It’s just that I’m used to Safari, and the seamless switching between my phone and Mac with Safari is something I’ll miss. The same goes for the Notes app. But aside from those, I don’t really prefer any other iOS features.

So what do you think,is it worth switching at this point?

Also worth mentioning: I can sell my 16 Pro Max for around 800, which means a 400 loss in just 5 months.

The only thing I would worry about is the switch between your phone and Mac. I don't own a Mac and just use my work PC and then a cheap used Microsoft Surface, so when I switched, I had zero dependence on a Mac. I hear that's usually very difficult for people.

Otherwise, the Galaxy Watch is good unless you really depend on apps on your watch. Galaxy buds are as good as Airpods.

Just be ready to truly commit and know that from time to time, your brain will tell you to return to iOS for zero logical reasons. Haha

April update is here in the US.
Yep installing now!
