The note isn't for example Everybody the S5 might appeal to a wider amount of people but the same pen features are something that is huge for a lot of people. Me Included.

I wish other manufacturers of phablets on Android did similar and then finally we may see third party apps enhanced to take advantage of stylus. :)

I don't have the numbers, but i'm pretty sure that the Note 3 has sold a heck of a lot more than 10 million. Some blog site had #s, but i can't remember where?

Yeah, appears you're right--had 10 million stuck in my head, apparently from a 2013 4th qtr estimate. Looks like some outlets reported that the Note II sold upwards of 30 million units so I'd certainly expect similar results from the Note 3. That's pretty impressive indeed.

I agree but we might see some average joe's start to upgrade more often with the new carriers upgrade anytime plans but probably won't be as significant.

My GF is the same way, they only reason she's looking to upgrade from her iP4 is because it's starting to die and battery life sucks. She would honestly continue to use it if it weren't for the issues she's having.

My parents also are the same way, the only reason why they end up upgrading every year is because I hand me down my previous phone to them. Their the types to only upgrade when their phone dies.

I wonder if phone manufacturers will actually start to produce phones with "expiration dates" as far as software goes. i.e. you have to get a new phone if you want the new software...

Looks like UK presales didn't indicate much. Sold over 30% on launch day vs its predecessors. Truth is Samsung's main turf is Asia, its home continent that makes up 60% of the global population. But the fact the S5 outsold twice as much than the S4 in Europe means Samsung is doing very well in other places and will continue to sell well.

Personally after seeing the S5 again like 10 min ago, I think I have been more impressed with it than the S4 from first impression. I like the dimensions of the S4 better, but Samsung improved on the build quality and everything else. I see zero lag. Maybe it is from KitKat, but it is smooth. Everything from the camera seems improved. Should be the hot-seller smartphone of the year next to the iPhone 6. But it generally has been that way since the Galaxy S introduction back in 2010. Either the latest iPhone or Galaxy S sell the most over any other flagship smartphone product line every year.

FWIW, a friend of mine said this was by far the busiest launch of any Samsung device for the AT&T store he manages. He attributed much of it to he new Next program and customers not having to wait the typical 2 years for upgrades.
