Sounds like you guys still really like the Fold which is good. My only complaints when trying it out the first time around were the cost and the lack of cases. Everything else was minor to me. Now that cost is way down (in my case at least) and the cases seem to be available (although not a lot of great options), I'm excited to give it another try.

I think next fall is going to be a big time for phones with the ProMotion iPhone, Fold 3, Pixel 6, and possible Pixel foldable. I figure a year with the Fold 2 will give me a good idea if foldables are for me or not and help influence that decision.

When it comes to cases, it sounds like the consensus is the autofocus cheap cases or the Ringke cases are best for front and back coverage. Spigen is usually my go-to for cases but it sounds like they rushed to market and really screwed up their designs this time around. What cases are you guys using (if any)?

Still rocking the aramid standing cover...none of the other cases I’ve seen looked right or were a pain when the phone was closed. This case while pricey and while doesn’t cover the front is a good case and gives you good viewing angles for watching media which obviously goes without saying is great for.

Yeah I had that one pre-ordered the first time around with the Fold but I didnt get it in time before I returned the phone. But I know Im not going to feel comfortable with this phone without front screen coverage, so the Samsung made cases are out for me.

I saw that Spigen are making a special Tough Armor Slim Pro for this phone that releases soon with looks really nice. But I imagine it could be expensive and it looks pretty bulky. And this phone cant afford to have more bulk added to it.

I did try this, unfortunately Linus summed up the sofware/app bugs perfectly:

"Why would you spend time optimising for an expensive device only a few people buy, over the millions of regular devices out there?"

Sucks, but that's exactly how my usage of it felt. Amazing device, but you cant help but feel like a second class citizen to developers.

Thats going to be the case with any device that isnt a mainstream form factor. Its going to require either Samsung to provide some sort of dev tool to make it easier for developers to adapt their app or more realistically, its going to take Apple to get onboard with foldables to get developers to take notice.

But I agree, a lot of apps dont natively work well from what I remember. The good thing is, Samsung provides Good Lock which can tweak apps to work better with foldables.

When it comes down to optimization of apps.. it's more so on Google with Android than Samsung with their Galaxy devices. As @Awesomesince86 mention... Good Lock tries to help with tweaking apps. But it's on Google to push developers to be mindful of the user experience when it comes down to screen sizes.

But IMO, I don't view it as a problem compared to that of Surface Duo. They are in a whole different category trying to get developers to optimized their apps for two screens simultaneously. With the Fold... developers have to be aware of a narrow display and a miniature tablet.

I think there are some apps that need more work but i think a lot of the main ones i use isn’t an issue. I wish twitter was better optimised as thats one of the main ones which isn’t. Apps i use like ESPN, OneFootball,FotMob are some really I’m not missing out on loads. It’s basically not a big enough deal as would think. I think as folds become more normal then we will see developers sort these issues out but this is where i would say if i want better apps i would just pick up my iphone. The beauty of the fold isn’t just app support but what others areas you can do on it.

Was able to take advantage of the Google’s Promo... and got the Stadia Premiere Edition for free!

Nice. I'm not a big fan because you have to buy the games all over again and can't play them locally. Geforce Now has been really good in that aspect, I can buy the game one on Steam or Ubisoft for example and play it locally, then I can also stream it on Geforce with save syncing and not have to buy it again. But still, free is free!

I'm still rocking my Aramid as well, and I NEVER use cases. I like that it's the back only, but some may not like that. It has to be one of the best cases out there. I have to confess to being seriously puzzled why we don't see more kickstand cases really for any phone.

I haven't really took the time to research it. I was just intrigued by the free promotion... as far as I know you get 17 games within the pro subscription, some games you have to pay for it. But I didn't know you have to buy them over again... that doesn't make any sense.

I had the founder edition of Stadia and gave it a try for the first few months. My thoughts...

- If you game a lot, the input lag will be noticeable. For the average gamer, they probably wont notice a difference.
- Their pricing model isnt great. Without the monthly subscription, you only get whatever games youve bought in standard resolution, capped frames, and basic stereo audio. With the monthly subscription, you get up to 4k, higher frames, and better audio as well as the games youve purchased and all the "free" games that come with the subscription and any games you've claimed with the sub in the past. There are some decent games in there, but also a lot of old games and crap games.
- Gameplay quality is entirely dependent on your internet speeds, stability, and what youre playing on. It seemed to work best with their controller and through a chromecast.
- When playing, resolution and frames are actual really good for cloud gaming.
- Load times are really fast and games never need updates.
- Solo player games are best. Stadia doesnt ahve a really high adoption rate so I've found when I tried to get in multiplayer lobbies it would take a long time or not find any because Stadia doesnt support cross gen multiplayer.
- Lots of the major AAA games arent available.

Im sure I'm missing a ton, but basically if youre a casual gamer without a current gen gaming system and dont want to invest in that hardware or if you travel a lot, then Stadia is actual a decent experience. At first it will shock you how well it performs for a cloud only platform.

SMH. I don't understand what's going on between US Carriers and Samsung... the carriers are not giving us any updates.
I have an unlocked phone and my last update was the 10/31 update, I just checked. That's the Oct 1 security patch.

I made a video for those who want to use the live wallpaper of the Chinese version of Fold. I cut out a part of the video and made a live home page wallpaper from it as well. I also uploaded the video alongside the wallpapers.

You gave us some great angles. But the more I see those type of cases, the less I feel about having them on my Fold2 lol.

It's already bulky enough. I truly understand the need for protection... But I've been doing pretty well so far without a case (knock on wood).

Haha I hear ya ...it’s crazy I don’t feel the phone bulky at all and when I go Aramid case it’s a whole different thing ...

Seems like a lot of you are using a 2nd phone with the Fold 2, so nobody is really running it as their only mobile device which makes me a little worried as thats how I'll be using it. Ive never been one to roll with more than one phone, although I switch phone often. I just never found it necessary although Ive wanted to at times.

Anyway, picking my Fold 2 up today. I guess we'll see how it goes.

Also, does anyone have experience with Latercase cases? I see they are releasing a front and back aramid case soon.
