got to admit guys I had my fold 2 sitting in my bag all week not used and has made me think do I really need such an expensive device if I'm leaving it in a bag for a week? decided to start using it again and realise how great it is.

not easy fitting it in daily life when I have my pro max, iPad Pro 12.9 and now my m1 air but I have realised it certainly has a place and it's easy to forget hoe great the tech is. certainly can use it for a different use case it'd just managing to make sure you use it for different things I guess.

Oh man. I think getting rid of the Note 20 was the start if you going back to iOS.

That's why I tried to avoid having so many devices, especially with Android and iOS... one device tend to be forgotten. But I must admit.. its a good problem to have.

And I've never been a fan of having a iPad Pro and a laptop, I just feel their too close in form factor. I always felt a desktop and iPad is the dream set up. But I seen setups where they use the iPad Pro as a secondary monitor for the laptop, that's pretty neat.

But as you have put the Fold to the side to enjoy some quality time with the Pro Max, my Fold never leaves my side.. well, for the most part. I did finally receive a long overdue Security Update. Now, I'm awaiting on One UI 3.0 beta.

I’ve never been able to successfully integrate an android device with the Apple devices I use. I start off with good intentions but the android device always ends up neglected in a drawer until it gets to the point were I just sell it as it’s collecting dust. Admittedly I don’t use my mac much. It’s just there for the rare occasions when a laptop will be better for something or I need to do something and I can‘t do it on my iPad. I also use it, well not my latest MacBook Air but my old MacBook Air I’m just keeping to manage my iTunes library.

That’s one thing that is actually made migrating from Apple to android a little bit easier. Is that I don’t know if I really enjoy the Apple Watch as much as I used to. That and I maybe use my MacBook once or twice per week and it’s not a necessity.

I would say I’m even more in the ecosystem now I have a mac and iPad to go along with the rest. Air pods working even better between phone, iPad and mac and watch now...

Not sure I will upgrade from fold 2 though got to be honest. I’m paying £77 a month for it on contract on annual upgrade but that’s with discounts so if I upgraded I bet I would be looking at over £30-£40 more a month

I have noticed I’m using iPad less than before but still useful to have for media and on the sofa. 12.9 is certainly great for media though just a handful to hold but works better than I expected using just the Smart Cover

I already know I'm not upgrading.. regardless of the rumored under the display camera and S-Pen. As long as they keep giving me updates... I'm alright with passing up on the Fold3. And besides, I rather give Samsung another try with those two new technologies... we haven't seen an under display camera on a Galaxy device nor the S-Pen on a foldable display.

Fold4.. should be the one to buy.

With such a new technology, I expect every new model to make pretty significant leaps forward for the foreseeable future. The candy bar style form factor has been around so long now that it's basically been perfected which is why cell phones have seen a lot of incremental updates. Foldable on the other hand should taking big jumps forward for the new few years.

I'm in a similar postion but i'm still using both i have my iphone pro as my daily driver phone with the fold for work and other media stuff so far its working great i'll be in for the next fold as long as the upgrades aren't incremental.

The inclusion of an s pen and with a slimmer form factor would get me to buy but i'm already looking forward to the 120mhz iphone next year i've always had two phones though so i'm confortable multi tasking with different phones.

Seems like a lot of you are using a 2nd phone with the Fold 2, so nobody is really running it as their only mobile device which makes me a little worried as thats how I'll be using it. Ive never been one to roll with more than one phone, although I switch phone often. I just never found it necessary although Ive wanted to at times.

Anyway, picking my Fold 2 up today. I guess we'll see how it goes.

Also, does anyone have experience with Latercase cases? I see they are releasing a front and back aramid case soon.

I'm running this as my only mobile device, I sold my iphone and my ipad mini. It's extremely solid as a daily driver, no issues at all.

it is a tough balance with a foldable. You want it to be the primary daily driver, but being worried about screen, dust, damage, is not ideal. Good bad or indifferent, the iPhone is super resilient is feels normal in the hand (candybar size vs big foldable). So there is a lot of changes to overcome. If the value out weighs the pain of change...you will love it :)

I've been very pleased with the durability. I took the front and inner screen protectors off and haven't had any issues. I do use an Aramid case, but mainly because of the kickstand. It's really not that long ago that phones were not waterproof, that's really the biggest thing I'm careful with. I'm not delicate with the inner screen at all and have had zero durability issues so far.

But otherwise I find it in some ways more durable than an iphone, in particular when the screen is closed it's protected. The Fold 2 also feels much better in one hand than my old iphone max when closed because it's narrower, but that's just me, I use my phones one handed most of the time.

it's one of those that you need to use daily to justify having the fold for sure. S pen and under display camera are good improvements be interesting what cameras it has and if it will have a pericope lens or not I'm guessing not though not for another year maybe

Rumors are the Fold 3 will keep the same price as the Fold 2.

IMO, Samsung have no motivation to go cheaper until they have some competition.

certainly good news if true also another report stating Samsung have said it will be slimmer and lighter as well

There are rumours also saying it's scheduled for June release with Under display, S pen in the device and it being lighter and slimmer.

will likely create the fold 3 thread come new year

I'm good with that, S-pen, more durable glass, under screen camera. I just hope they offer a good trade in for the Fold 2.

Fold 3 (rumoured) looks very promising. If they can pull off S-Pen, under screen front camera and slightly wider front screen, it's going to be very very tempting. Would still have to live with odd apps situation and lack of decent cases, but it would still be worth it.

I was a iPhone fan, having had almost every phone since the beginning but have recently made the swith to galaxy s20+ and most definitely will not be going back. I'm interested in fold but waiting until the 3 or 4 version. Giving the phone time to develop properly.

In regard to the Fold 3, if they make the S pen work it seems to me they would have to do something about the crease. I have no issue with it just viewing it, but writing may be a different matter. Definitely curious if and how they resolve this.

Hmm I wonder why I'm always a month behind. I just checked today and had the November 1 update waiting for me, but after updating I'm not getting this one to show up. Based on the past updates it probably won't show up for me until early Jan. I have the unlocked Fold 2 version.
I must say this is exceptional, normally mid to late in the month is the norm

I always think Samsung are their own worst enemy they could of simply call the update Jan 2021 and everyone would think they are always ahead LOL

I do not read too much in to these updates dates as long as they come along monthly :)
