latest rumour is we could see two fold 3

one being an ultra version which I'm guessing would have better specs with maybe pericope lens and 108mp lens. will see if true.

Sounds dope. I was part of a survey from some 3rd party company thats trying to gather information on Fold2 users. From what I understand, the focus is trying to determine the pricing on the S-Pen. Obviously, they had questions on how I felt about the design, screen... usability/durability.

I wonder though, if they did price the S-Pen externally.. how much are you willing to pay for it? I think they are hoping to price it at $100. I for one, am indifferent to it. If it came internally, I don’t mind it. But I don’t know if I’m going to pay for it as an added accessory. I’m alright with not having a S-Pen, but saying that now... doesn’t mean much.

Because with the Note, I enjoyed having the S-Pen to change tracks... browsing the web, taking photos. I’m just hoping that Samsung tries not to push too much new technology and price it too high.

I'm still in two minds going forward if to upgrade my fold 2 or not. S pen in the phone will obviously but great but not sure I would upgrade just for S pen support. Would need more

here is ross young's latest leak

My Xmas leaks - Galaxy Fold 3 - main display shrinks from 7.59" to 7.55". Cover display goes from 6.23" to 6.21". Need more space for S Pen.
Galaxy Z Flip 3/Flip Lite - grows slightly from 6.67" to 6.70". 120Hz and LTPO on the Z Flip 3.

First and foremost, I'm looking at the price. Obviously, Samsung will provide incentives for Fold2 users to allow us to upgrade at a cheaper price. But, if they source out the trade program again where it causes original Fold owners inability to get the Fold2... that could prevent upgrades to the Fold3.

But so far, S-Pen support... no hole punch on the main screen seems like the biggest selling points. Obviously, it's going to be faster and camera will be improved.

I would hope they also throw in their new galaxy buds pro which is rumoured as well. yeah under display camera is happening on the fold 3 from the rumours which would be good to see this tech in a foldable this early makes for better video viewing for sure.

If the Spen ends up not having a silo to put it into the phone, well that would be a huge disappointment. I can see Samsung selling maybe a nicer external pen separately, but I'm really hoping they at least keep the smaller Spen inside the device itself. I've always been baffled why other tablets with pen support don't have them inside the devices, but then again most tablets don't have kickstands either.

With that said I don't know if I would want to pay over $2k just for a Spen, so there is an appeal of an external Spen. The Spen is awesome, but I haven't used one for a few years and have been fine without it, I could take it or leave it.

I really like the spen, but no way will i buy one separately, it would also mean no silo and. I have enough trouble keeping track of my Apple Pencil, would be worse on a phone.

I liked the S-Pen on the Note... enjoyed using it. I'll be willing to buy one, but not at at ridiculous price. And even though it might not have a internal place to put it at. I would think Samsung would provide some type of case that has a stylus holder to avoid having trouble keeping track of it.

I think to be worth upgrading the cameras need to be as good as S21 ultra or very least note 20 ultra. I'm on an annual upgrade so for me would be looking at an extra £40 a month which I won't be willing to do.

interesting might have to check. not holding my breath though lol
Yeah, I don’t think I’ll get the update until next month and it’s no rush.. since I rely on Good Lock for how I interact with the Fold. And apparently, Good Lock hasn’t been fully updated for OneUI 3.0. But I just wanna see how it looks!

Really late to the game here but I played with the Fold at Best Buy and it's a really cool device. Not sure how practical it is though. Thinking about 2-3 generations from now, I might consider a foldable.

Practical? You mean durable? If you thinking 2 or 3 generation ahead, perhaps.. your main concern is price.

For a 2nd gen product it's way ahead of its time.. By 2022/2023 it will certainly be worthy even better. Its Samsung future flagship I would say

Leaker I've says says it will get ip rating by 2022

When it gets an IP rating and some better screen durability, Im all in. That is, unless rollable displays have hit mainstream.

Hi guys, picked up a fold 2 with a cracked outer display for 400 bucks from a co worker today. Sending it out to Samsung tomorrow for the repair. In the mean time has anyone here been usking a case for longer than 2 months that they enjoy? I tried brushing up on as many pages as I could here. Excited to join this group, my daily driver is a 12 pro max but I ran through about 30 android phones back in the day.

I've tried a few different one but I always come back to the samsung stand cover. granted doesn't cover much in terms of the front but not too bulky and as a media device I think it's great to just put the stand on there and you are good to go. granted not cheap....

Thanks! I’ve seen good things about that one. The fold came with the Samsung leather case which really makes Apple leather case look like a bargain. I just needed something that worn scratch up the front display. Looks like the adhesive strips are a must for any case that covers the outer screen half

Anyone care to venture a guess when an unlocked (sold in the US) Fold 2 might get the update. Having updates take so ridiculously long was always a reason I stayed away from Samsung so long.

Nobody knows. Slow updates is just something you have to accept when you buy a niche device. Samsung (or any company really) is always going to prioritize updates for devices with the highest adoption (relative to cost, since expectations will be different).

In the Samsung Members app, there is information listed in the notification tab for when devices will receive the update. Some regions are getting it early, but supposedly we should all receive the update by the end of February.

Well, I do admit that Samsung won't be giving us updates as soon as the S and Note line, however... we are 3rd in the group. Once Samsung remove the Note line (supposedly), the foldable lines will eventually be 2nd in the group.
I'm seeing more and more adoption in the Fold reddit thread, Samsung is trying to entice Galaxy owners to upgrade. Seen this one post... they offered 1k for Note 10 trade in. I don't see this device becoming niche for too long.

I think it'll get better as Foldables become more common. Samsung have clearly made it a focus to fix slow updates and they've done a lot better in the past couple of years.

They are ridiculously slow on ALL of their updates to any device, not just the niche ones.
